In our day and age, this discipline could apply to many many unmarried Christians living together in sin; many even attending church together. They choose to live together and or have marital relations outside the bonds of marriage.
1Cor 5:5 has sometimes been used to say that if a believer dies in the state of committing sin that he/she has not repented of will not be saved (i.e. have eternal life) at the time of judgment. Thank you, Pastor Woods @Andy Woods for explaining that this unrepentant believer will still come before Jesus at the BEMA judgment seat (and has not lost his/her salvation but is in jeopardy of losing rewards).
If I were to communicate the idea of "shaming" them into repentance, I would say that believers need to stop being enablers of a fellow believer's sin. This means we can't just turn a blind eye to the sin in our own lives (i.e. the "log") nor in the lives of our brothers or sisters in Christ (i.e. the "speck")
Thank Pastor Andy Woods for these insightful teachings! Blessings from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹!
Thank you for this sermon, it is helping me right now so much

Another fine sermon, sometimes I feel unsaved because of my thoughts, but I am reminded of Jesus love for me. Thank you Dr Woods
