- If you want to apply for CANADA STUDY PERMIT, you need to secure a LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE (LOA). INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS should know whether applying for 1-year program or 2 programs to a DESIGNATED LEARNING INSTITUTIONS (DLI).
This video shares how to secure an LOA, what are the admission requirements, how much is the cost of LOA, how to apply for 2 programs and how to extend your study permit if you are already in Canada and decided to study again.
I also showed my own letter and certificate of English as a Medium of Instruction and the LOA that I received from Conestoga College that indicates 2 programs.
As this is the first document that aspiring international students should attain, they should also make sure that the DLI that they choose is offering Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). This is important as they can work after they graduate.

Ok, can confirm that POF (GIC), is not needed for the second year, you can substitute the GIC with bank statement for the previous 4 to 5 months and as long as you are working (receiving funds in that account).... you shouldn't have any problem.

Hello there, loving your content! Had noticed that on some of the previous videos I watched you had mentioned that you took a 1+1 program but some of your classes from the first program overlapped with some of your classes from you second program. I was wondering if some of the programs that offer a few courses that are the same, are they going to be recognized towards your second program (in that way saving money for tuition) and would that eventually affect the 3 year duration of a PGWP or would it still be 3 years? Great content and very informative.. I have applied for a bundled (1+1) program offered by SAIT recently and awaiting for the processing... however there's just one thing I am not sure about since the requirement and steps stated for the programs is to apply for 1 primary and then add the additional program stated in the bundle.. after doing that, it looks like I will need to pay 2x the processing.. although I sent a clarification email already, I'm not sure if I just proceed and pay for the second program just the same. Status of 1st program "Submitted" while the supposed bundled 2nd program is "Pending Payment"...

Thanks for watching and for the comment. I think your initial application in your home country should be for 1 program then if you plan to study again with different DLI, you can extend your SP here. After 2 programs, you’ll still get 3 yrs PGWP.

Hi Jason! I recently accepted Seneca’s offer of grad cert bundles consisting of Fraud Acctg and Fin Comp Svcs Admin. They are both 8-months in length. Would like to ask if these 8-month programs are considered as 1 year? Will I be eligible for a 3 year PGWP after finishing these 2 programs?

Hello dear Jayson, thank you so much for such a helpful and informative video. I have a question related to this and hope you could help.
Senario: say, my first one year course starts from Jan and end around August, so my student Visa should be end around Dec, as they normally give three months gap. Now, if I want to apply for the next course but, this course will start around Spring or September next year, then is that mean I have the right to stay in Canada during those period and work full time, until the time my next course starts? Or I'll have to leave Canada first because my next course takes too long to start? In this case, if my next course will start in May, should I wait till November to apply, so that the gap to my next course won't be too long? Is there be a time limit between my first course and my next course, like my next course will has to be in three months after my current Visa expires or my first course end?
Question they say that if your program course is 1 yr program I need to pay whole tuition fee. what if 2 of 1 yr program do I need to pay the whole tuition fee of the both programs?

You mentioned looking for open programs. If I opt for GBM for Jan 2022 intake, I should apply to the next program for Jan 2023 intake. But the next programs I wanted to apply (Supply chain management OR Business analytics) do not show Jan 2023 as start dates on the college website. How do we approach the college on the second program?
Also, I have already done Masters in my home country. Will that be an issue for Visa approval?

I am planning in choosing Conestoga with a 2 yr program which is Tourism - Destinations and Travel Management
(Optional Co-op), and I don't have an idea about the Electives: General Education/Program Option that say student must complete a minimum of 42 Hours.
Do I need to take this in order to graduate? and if it happens that I needed to take these courses it will cost me more money?

akhil kolli basically, IELTS depends on the following:
1. Institution
2. Program
3. Country/nationality
4. Type of Study Permit Application
What I suggest is to contact your chosen DLI and ask them for you to be guided accordingly.
Like what happened in my case, my DLI didn’t ask me for an English Test but rather English as Medium of Instruction.

Thanks for watching and for the comment. I did not change my program. Back in the Philippines when I was applying for LOA for my 2 programs (1-yr each program), Conestoga College provided an LOA for both programs which is indicated in my LOA.

Thanks for watching and for the comment. No need to pay it again. Like what happened to me, my 2nd program is supposed to be 2 semi but since my some of my courses/subjects were accredited, I just took the 2nd program for 1 semester and I only paid for 1 set as well for my 2nd program.

JAGMEET singh thanks for watching and for the comment. Did you ask the DLI the reason? I had a zoom call before with school rep from Sask Poly that the January and May 2021 intakes are usually for the continuing education like those student who are already in Canada. But very few slots left.

Giselle Anne Mabalo thanks for watching and for the comment. We were 20 Filipino IS that came here with the same 2 programs and all of us got 3 yrs PGWP. If ever, VO gave you 1 yr PGWP, you can still request for an appeal as you have all your docs as you studied for 2 yrs in Canada.

Hi there, I urgently needed your input. In the Government website, it stated that the Financial Sufficiency is only needed on the first year of the study.
Do you need to show proof of funds if you're going to extend the SP from inside Canada every before academic year?

What if I initially choose a 1yr program and get a 1 year study visa and later on during my study term I plan to extend my study visa.
1) Do I need to get another GIC certificate(extra 10k CAD) or can I use the initial one with which I came to Canada.
2) In case I need to show another 10k CAD for extension of study permit. Is it the same if I initially opt for a 1+1yr program before moving to Canada (i.e. Do I need to show 20k CAD for 1+1year)

Just wanna clarify the term breaks for international students.
For instance, nagstart ako ng Fall Term (Sept to De) so that’s gonna be my term 1.
My 2nd Term would be, Winter (Jan to Apr)
My 3rd term would be Spring ba? Or Fall na ulit?
If Fall na ulit yung 3rd term ko, So Vacation ko is from May to August and can work full time?

1. Better to study for 2 yrs to get 3 yrs PGWP.
2. In my opinion, go with HR and Global Business Management.
3. Regarding GBM, you can indicate that your plan is to have a recruitment firm in the Phils.

1. I thought of not pursuing the 2nd program as I the part-time that I was working back then offered me full-time position but not sponsoring or even giving me LMIA. So I decided to continue my school as it is a high risk. But if ever, it is up to you if you will continue in your 2nd program or not. But you can do it too.
2. Remember that PGWP application is ONLY A ONE TIME OPPORTUNITY.
3. I have videos about “STRATEGIES” and I discussed about getting a job different from your program. If you have time, you can watch it too.

I have a question that recently i have received an offer letter from fanshawe college for two one year graduate certificates(1+1). Construction project management + project management. ,(both without co-op)
As per expected date of completion both programs will be end in just 16 months without any brake. In this case after 16 months of continuous studying of 2 graduate certificates, am i able to get 3 years PGWP or i will get 16 months PGWP? I am very confused please help me out sir.

There are very few colleges that gives admission in 2 programs at the same time in on offer letter. As far as i know canadore only gives admission in only one program at one time. After finishing that program you have to apply again for different programs.

Thanks for watching and for the comment. After your 1st program and you decide to apply for another program without applying for PGWP yet, you can still get 3 yrs PGWP. Remember, PGWP application is once in a lifetime opportunity.

i think your confused, you get the study permit to study at seneca, then after you finish you apply for PGWP.

But for the 2nd program, you need to show that you have $10K CAD for your POF excluding your TF. I spoke to one of my friends, why she did was, she paid for the 1st sem of her 2nd program and $10K POF.

Hi Sir, this is almost the same in my case, I am under SDS and I have 2 programs. I have an LOA for 1+ 1 program. But my first program is for 1 year and the 2nd program is 2 years. I have paid my full 1 year tuition fee for my 1st program and have 10k GIC with a little amount of POF of my sponsor amounting around 10k cad. Do you think this is enough for me to get a visa grant? I really hope you can help me.

Yes you can pay your tuition fees before you apply for your study permit or you can just show proof of funds to convince the immigration officer that you will pay your tuition. But I suggest you pay your tution so that you will have a better advantage in getting your study permit.
