    Here's another curly hair tutorial for 3 Strand Twists which is a low manipulation style and I love it cause it looks pretty darn killer.
    I have Type 3C to 3B Coily and Spirally hair and this technique still works on my hair.

      I have many different textures in my hair, and as it gets longer or is wet, the straighten the curls get. At the moment the back is getting more wavy and the shorter bits at the front are really spirally. But whatever, the video is more about the technique than what label my hair has.

      Lola Narjinary That's not really the point of the video. However, I have many textures in my hair and you can't see it at all when it's soaking wet and weighed down by this much product. If you would like to asses my hair texture properly, you can check out my natural hair while dry in this video. m.ua-cam.com/video/cUpq4zryaEw/v-deo.html

      I think it's a solid 3A, but not a 3B. A friend of mine has 3B, and has different hair from this. I'm more of a 2C/3A type. I'm getting closer to 2C with the cold weather and my hair getting longer. While I do say I have WAVY hair, not curly, I still do consider it to be borderline curly.

      @rinamae2844 3 роки тому

      @@starlynliles678 heya I’m glad to help! I’ve been doing textured hair basically all my life, I’ve worked on my hair- it’s thick and wavy- did my all 9 of my siblings hair (7/10 had 2b-2c which is a tight curl - simulator to this video) and I had the opportunity to do my step families hair which contained ALL of the hair types, 1-4. I’m not trained but when you around and see different type of hair you kinda understand where your coming from. Everyone has their own opinions about what their textured hair is because they think they knows how their hair works- that’s not the case. There’s a chart where 1 is straight hair, 2s are wavy- curly, 3s are super curly, 4s are coils.
      If your hair is like hers but thick than you have a section 2-now you need to see if your hair is A, B, or C. 2A is wavy, 2B is big pronounced waves/ curls and 2C is really curly no doubt about it. I am personally 2A and have to scrunch my hair to get the waves I want, if I don’t my hair becomes frizzy and straight- if you get straight out the shower and have curls popping than you most likely have 2B/ 2C hair which is the mix of both of them. The women in this video is confusing people because her hair isn’t what she said it is, and making people think they can choose their own hair type cause they like it. There’s NO issue with doing this style WITHOUT having 3/ 4 hair. Hope I helped! If anything else I’d love to help. Thank you and have a good day

    honestly your hair seems about like mine I'm 3a and I think most people's comments of agitation stem from credit where credit is do it is a protective hair style but PoC were the demographic that created and utilized these protective hairstyles because their ancestors coming from a place like Africa originally had to find ways to protect the hair from the sun and other harsh elements and the twist outs also helped maintain their curls because twist outs are good for holding moisture it same goes for Bantu knots as well they are a cultural hair style almost every single hairstyle you see African Americans do comes from different tribes and villages takes on protective hair styles I myself am white and have had the discussion of cultural appropriation with plenty of people and the biggest thing with any person of color is this: you can use the same techniques and hairstyles but know your history on them understand that there is more to it than looking cute and just simply protecting your curls twist outs originate from one tribe originally for protection of hair while Bantu knots are from a completely different tribe for hair protection as well same goes for wrapping hair with hair scarves it is to protect the hair originally but when slavery started they were forced to cover their hair because white women were jealous of the things PoC could do with their hair all the elaborate styles and what not so they made them keep their hair covered at all times just food for thought is all so much history goes into the hairstyles of PoC alone that doesn't even touch on practices and religious beliefs and what not such a rich culture even if you based it off hair alone

      Alyssa Glass I actually fumbled into this style when I was a teenager before I had ever seen a tutorial on UA-cam/the internet or seen a black person do this technique. So I'm not trying to steal anyone's cultural identity. It's about spreading the word and having curly hair. Not the colour of anyone's skin.
      And I didn't mention Bantu knots or anything else. I used to have tightly wound curly hair that was very brittle and broke frequently until I started using certain techniques and products that allows it to grow and be silky and long like it is now.
      And who says I'm white? There are plenty of Europeans and Jews and other cultures that have curly hair, it's not just owned by black people. I don't judge people based on the colour of their skin, yet many people in the comments here are doing exactly that to me. It sounds like racism to me.

Everybody should except everybody’s culture and be able to happily embrace them whether they belong to that culture or not my neighbor was my best friend and African American she did my hair in corn rows all the way thru elementary school for me and I got told “oh just stop trying to be black” I’m white and I’m proud! And even tho my friend was African she straightened her hair and never got the same comments I did at the end of the day we should all love and except each other and deciding whether to do so over a hair style? If I were you I would judge my hair dry and not wet, before judging my curl pattern based on my skin colour. That's not cool. She never said that white people don’t have curly hair though...it’s strange to see a white person do this because they don’t typically ‘protect’ their hair and even when they do they don’t usually do it this way...plus, a protective style is defined as ‘hiding your ends’, which you’re not. So this style fits under the category of ‘low-manipulation style’...it becomes protective when you put it in a bun or within extensions.
      Needless to say you’re both your content and title are in fact very confusing...not negative, just confusing...

      I don't think it works of straighter hair types. If you can plait your hair and leave it untied at the end and the plait stays in, then it could work. I can plait my hair and it will stay in without a tie for days since the texture of the hair keeps the strands from slipping. However my straight haired friends end up with the plait slipping straight out. That's my reckoning.

    It's actually best to label ur hair wet with moisture in it than label it dry. My hair is 3a-3c wet and it looks almost in the 4a category while dry. I got this info from a natural ytber, but I forgot her name so I'll b sure to edit it back in when I find her.
    You're mislabeling, as does in the rest of the community (often labeling 3c hair as 4c, which is almost what I did), causes girls to b self conscious of their hair and creates a lot of self hate towards their hair bc it doesn't look like the label listed! I can tell u rn, my hair being as loose wet as urs is dry, it's definitely not in the 3b-3c category.
    Also, u forget to mention that this protective style is used for mostly the black community and is apart of the black communities history. It has been for a long time, and I am a big "give credit where it's due" gal.
    Also to mention, the black community wears this style and it's called "unprofessional" "dirty" etc, but you could wear it and it'd "start a trend", simply bc the color of ur skin. It is that fact, that I wrap this up in, that this video is doing more harm than good! I know you most likely didn't mean for it to intend such, but it does.
    The UA-camr I was talking abt is chizi duru! Here's her video I was talking abt

    Yes, she is not 3c, and could gave twisted her hair better. But everybody saying that white people don't protective styling is ridiculous. White people get split ends, damage their hair, and want it to have a healthy break same as anybody who takes time to have healthy hair. Any body who cares about their hair should use protective styling that works best for them.

      Protective styling for African Americans isn’t about wanting your hair to grow and protecting it from split ends. Our hair is natural dry, doing things like braids an twist outs allow us to keep the moisture in our hair and our scalp. Because our hair is so dry weather can also be a big factor “protecting our hair” I think your a bit confused of the terminology which I guess isn’t your fault cause your not Black but split ends will always happen , you’ll always have to trim your hair so white people doing what she’s doing isn’t going to stop your hair from getting split ends.

    Question for all the black girls in the comments, is wearing this style cultural appropriation if you know where it originates from? Cuz I have 3c hair and wanna put it in a protective style every now and then as I’m tryna grow long healthy hair, but I don’t wanna wear it if it’s offensive

    Why would you even have your hair type close to an ethnic type ?
    4 is ours , anything near that is around our hair texture. Yours would be like a 2.

    • @MichtyMaxx
      @MichtyMaxx  4 роки тому

      What do you think an "ethnic type" means? What ethnicity do you think I am? Curly hair isn't owned by people with high melanin skin content. It's a protein that grows out of your scalp longer on one side of the chain and shorter on the other, thus it curves around itself. And my hair is wet. If you really had curly hair you would know that wet curls are way looser than dry curls.

      @@MichtyMaxx I didn't say you had to be black to have curls. You said you hair is 3C , ma'am. It looks like its in the 2 category. 3C is more on the side with women with KINKS , those types of curls , black hair. That's why the comment section bashing you. I'm not trying to be rude.

    You have curly hair... not coily! I know you think you know ur hair more than anyone but your in the 2 section- not 3b or 3c, even though your hair is super curly; doesn’t mean you have the same hair texture as people of colors hair. You have THE SAME EXACT hair texture as my mother (she’s Italian and German, so super curly course hair but doesn’t mean she has coils).

      Alexis Burnett Thank you for understanding and being reasonable. It's a rare and beautiful thing around the internet and for some reason a hair tutorial really sticks in some people's craws and gets their hackles up.
