Η ταπεινοφροσύνη είναι ουράνιος ανεμοστρόβιλος που μπορεί να ανεβάσει την ψυχή από την άβυσσο της αμαρτίας στα ύψη του ουρανού. Αντίκρυσε ένας κάποτε το κάλλος της μέσα στην καρδιά του και αφού κατελήφθη από θάμβος ερωτούσε το όνομα του πατρός της. Εκείνη δε με ένα φαιδρό και γαλήνιο ειδίαμα του αποκρίνεται: «Πως σπεύδεις να μάθεις το όνομα του πατρός μου, ενώ αυτός είναι ανώνυμος; Δεν θα σου το φανερώσω, έως λάβεις μέσα σου τον Θεό». Αυτώ η δόξα σε τους αιώνας. Αμήν.

A man once saw her beauty in his heart and after being overcome by a gloom he asked the name of her father. And she, with a bright and peaceful expression, responds to him: "How are you in such a hurry to find out my father's name, while he is anonymous? I will not reveal it to you until you receive God within yourself. This is the glory forever. Amen.
