Another great episode of Series 7, the total faith Spike has in Buffy ' she will come for me' as he is teased and tortured by the First Evil in Buffy's persona shows the total trust they now have in each other. Buffy proves the ultimate power of The Slayer in the fight in the fight with the Turok-Han, giving The Potentials demonstrable proof they can win.

This last season gets some negative feedback from many fans but I think it’s due to the fact it’s ending. There is a cloud hanging over reactors, like you, and the people that love BTVS. It has been apart of your world for both business and pleasure . The anticipation of a new adventure is winding down and you are where all of us have been in the past. The potentials are really surrogates for the viewers/fans . Be patient. Buffy was at her bad ass best here and she is figuring out what to do for victory. The thunderdome fight was one of the best and perfect for this last season. Thank you for your reactions and know I will enjoy your finish to this epic show.
So, everyone remember going forward: The only reason the First was able to begin its active Armageddon is because Willow, Xander, Anya and Tara tipped the planet’s Good/Evil alignment by resurrecting Buffy. So, anytime Buffy is under stress or called out for not doing enough, or turned against - the only reason the literal personification of Evil is able to do what it’s doing is because the Scoobies messed with the natural order…and _Buffy_ has to yet again be responsible and stop it, despite her being forcibly resurrected against her will and clean up the mess the Scoobies created. Buffy could still have been in Heaven, season 6 would have never happened (where the Big Bad was arguably _depression)_ and Tara would still be alive.
This show is actually what set off Felicia Day’s career, but not how one would expect.. after her time on Buffy she went to a few auditions but didn’t have any luck scoring any big parts and she started to get depressed, so she kinda gave up and spent most of her days playing world of Warcraft for hours on end.. after a while of that she decided to give her acting career another shot and started working on “the Guild” with some of her friends and fellow WoW players.. and the rest is history from there 🥰

The single greatest weapon in Buffy's arsenal has always been a Good Night's sleep and they never actually say it out loud. Almost every time she gets beaten back, it's because she hasn't slept. Go back and check it out, quality violence ensues after Buffy wakes up. Also, before Charlie Bradbury or Codex the Max-level Cleric, There was Vi. This was one of Felicia Day's early roles that put her on a lot of people's radar.

When Willow resurrected Buffy using powerful ancient magic, it disrupted the natural balance of the Slayer line, giving the First Evil, a primeval demonic entity that had always sought to destroy the Slayer lineage, an opportunity to wipe out the line of chosen ones permanently.
The first evil has appeared because Buffy has been brought back. In a twisted way, the first evil is trying to balance the scales. This is the calm before the storm. Buckle up.
Ah the first, a quick history trip. It appeared in the form of Jenny C, in the S3 Christmas episode when it snowed at the end. It is actually if you think about it, the same reason that we see it now. Back then, Angel had been brought back from hell, not knowing why he came back. and the first was showing itself as all the people he had killed. It wanted him to kill himself, maybe to re-address the balance of him coming back to now Buffy coming back. Hope that jogs a memory.
This episode gave me chills, still does. The conviction in Buffy's voice at the end of the episode, it's showtime. It is the beginning of the end... or is it? "Welcome to the Hellmouth." -Buffy's greeting to Rona was a call back to season 1, episode 1, same title. "Show me a trick. You know, pull a rabbit out of something. Or make something float!" -Kennedy saying this to Willow during a conversation is a call back to season 3, episode 16, Doppelgängland when willow was floating a pencil while she was still learning new tricks.
There was a fanfic in which they do what you said, kill each slayer in turn until they've got a whole squad. But I don't remember if it was written before or after this... not even sure if it was on ffnet or AO3. I tend to focus on... Buffaith? Fuffy? What's the ship name again? Trivia: There’s a (very) small callback to season 5 in this; in “Fool for Love” when Spike is telling Buffy about the Slayers he killed, he finishes by saying “Here endeth the lesson”; here, Buffy says it to the Potentials.
Dakara: The potential Slayers... Me: ... are whiny bitches. 😉🤣 Dakara: They're just kids, so they're annoying. Interesting that resurecting Buffy is the reason behind The First having the ability to attempt killing off the slayer line. In S6 when the group assume the hitchhicker will be the only consequence, and don't consider Buffy's depression (and how she reacts to her depression) to be a consequence; now we get a global consequence in addition to the other two consequences. I lot of fans have issue with Kennedy, but Rona's _why bother fighting_ attitude annoys me more. Even Kennedy has to put Rona in her place over that one by pointing to the point of a sword as the point of the matter for a joke to ease tention Rona is causing. The last moment is such a great Spuffy moment in large part to Buffy not saying anything verbally and doing so with her eyes, while Spike has adnitted to the same verbally, without actually stating any direct words due to thinking its The First, at first. It's a great moment between the two.
Yeah, I’ve never had a problem with Kennedy & it’s always surprised me that she gets so much hate. I think a lot of that is simply because she’s not Tara, which isn’t her fault.

Rather, it's her first death that 'unbalances' the scales. That also explains the First's appearance in S03 - its first test of how easy it might be to get Buffy killed.
