ABOUT COLDPLAY
Since forming at university in London, Coldplay have gone on to become one of the planet’s most popular acts, selling more than 100 million copies of their nine Number One albums, which have spawned a string of hits including Yellow, Clocks, Fix You, Paradise, Viva La Vida, A Sky Full Of Stars, Hymn For The Weekend, Adventure Of A Lifetime, Orphans and, most recently, Higher Power and My Universe.
#Coldplay #Arabesque #EverydayLife #Sunrise #Sunset #MoonMusic
this is like coldplay going back to their roots while at the same time giving us something entirely new and fresh. Love it!
Reminds me of a lot of Viva La Vida using different real instruments instead of the EDM tech stuff like on Adventure of a Lifetime, Hymn for the Weekend, etc.
@@anniebunny722 last two albums were pretty terrible tbh

The French part is sung by Stromae, a Beligian electronic artist
This is what it means:
Comme deux gouttes d'eau
(Like two drops of water)
On se ressemble
(We look like)
Comme provenant de la même mère
(As from the same mother/sea)
Comme deux ruisseaux
(Like two streams)
Qui se rassemblent
(Who gather)
Pour faire les grandes rivières
(To make big rivers)
Little correction: Stromae is Belgian ;). He comes from Brussels and sings mainly in French. Nice collaboration, indeed!
That's why the voice sounded familiar. I know some French and I was surprised by the pronunciation
I love stromae! i cant believe it!
I found this song from Stromae.
thanks, buddy...
It looks like everyone had a really blue 2019, and coldplay suddenly brought all the sunshine at once for all of us! 😄😄😄😄😄👍
I'd be honored if some Coldplay fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal cover performances of SKY FULL OF STARS and VIVA LA VIDA on my YT channel in tribute to the masters of 21st century songwriting. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Thanks and peace.

Viva La Vida is GOAT
Sounds strangely just like Tinariwen....
The guitar and sax is giving this some serious 70’s funk vibe to it 😎
Never thought I’d hear a sax solo in a Coldplay song but it works so dam well.
These guys never fail to impress me.
It reminds me A LOT of some ouf the unknown Dave Matthews songs!!! (I love him, too!) He even kinda sounds like Dave in the beginning.
Funk vibe? In what universe?
mannu vera
In this universe we live in of course
Not funk. More like a psychodelic Pink Floyd song vibe
More like Afrobeat. That was Femi Anikulapo-Kuti on the sax solo.
Uh, wow. This is certainly a new direction for these guys.
And I like it. A lot.
Me too. I love that they don't keep doing the same thing like most bands. It gets boring.
@@marciac7026 after Viva la Vida, they've been criticised for just being more of the same. They've taken it to heart, and although they did fumbled post-Viva la Vida, they're more or less finding their groove back.
CursedUsername eh every album sounds different tbh out of the 7 we have as of now listen to them
@@Manganization Viva la Vida was the natural result of their shift from X&Y. X&Y was just the previous two albums all over again. VLV was the actual shift for them, and then Mylo Xyloto was full-on pop. Ghost Stories as a bit shoegaze, and Adventure of a Lifetime sort of ignored the modern pop model. This is something so WILDLY different you can't help but notice it.

Meaning of the song explained:
The co-lead single “Arabesque” (which is the lead single for the “Sunrise” part of the album) is Coldplay’s way of trying to see peace in the wake of the western fear of Islam with the war on terrorism going on.
Instrumentally, the song merges western musical styles with Middle Eastern rhythms (like with the guitar & saxophone) placing the idea that ‘music unites us all’. :)
Great theory! IT would make a sense as rn our president acting like a dummy
Doesn't change the fact that Islam as a philosophy hates the west
@@skylerrash9154 It absolutely doesn't! Islam does not hate you :) That's not a fact, it's an islamophobic incorrect misinterpretation

Let's all appreciate the return of organic sounding music. This actually sounds like humans playing together instead of the overly produced robotic noise we've been getting for years and years and years.
Spot on! It's so pure!
That's just another thing I love about Coldplay. In an era of synthetic drum machines, overuse of autotune, talentless and soulless hacks, "songs" with no musical value whatsoever, and music about drugs, sex, being "gangsta," etc., Coldplay are something that seems to be tragically scarce these days- actual, talented musicians.
@Alexander Parkin I've been itching to reply something like this for a long time now, couldn't have put it better myself. Why can't people like music just for the sake of liking it? Instead they make it out like they are superior to others purely because of taste. What a low effort way to make yourself feel superior.

I've been a Coldplay fan since I was 7 (22 now) and I have to say that this is the most surprising track I've ever heard from all of their albums and EP's. Never since the Cemeteries of London have I felt this rich and dark sound from the band. As much as I liked A Head Full of Dreams, most of the songs sounded plastic and manufactured somewhat. @Keegan3 yes, 100% a great performance of this track.
Yes. Inspiring!
You know, the more I listen to this, the more I think that this is Chris Martin angry.
There's a steady minor key throughout the song, which usually denotes negative feelings. But it feels angsty here. It feels...tense. So we get to that long sax part, and then the "music is the weapon" section, and it builds and builds.
And then, chordally, it explodes. It spills over. There's a release with major chords. It feels like the musical tension that built up is finally being channeled. And then, way in the background, you hear Chris Martin, for only the second time ever on any Coldplay track, curse. "Same fucking blood".
It sounds like anger. Frustration. Why are we fighting each other? How dare we? How long must this go on?
And it's over as quickly as it began.

"Music is the weapon of the future"
The third world war gonna be interesting
Edit: there was no need for a WW3 for this year to be so fucked up
They be releasing diss tracks
Banana coldplay end it with a sax solo
*WW3 : "Show Me What You Got"*
Rick and Morty reference 😂
I’m glad you’re back! I missed you ;)
Like if you missed them too!!!
Please do another album like this! I’m really hoping for Coldplay to be like this (I don’t think Moon Music or the musical album would fit this style) so please. Everyday Life was perfect in that you didn’t let people dictate what you made. Everyday Life wasn’t made for the modern youth or pop fans, (I saw another person comment this on a different video) it’s made as a gift from Coldplay to themselves, just them playing music together and being experimental. And it paid off. This is my favourite Coldplay album.
