manufacturing should moved domestically. Money should be reduced on foreign affairs, such as 50 billion + dollars being sent to Ukraine, as the US crumbles from massive domestic problems. Not to mention the rampant legalized corruption in the House of Representatives when in regards to lobbyists. Obviously Asia is the emerging powerhouse, the US shouldn’t shoot itself in the foot. At this point it is hard to see the US keeping its monopoly with the amount of regulation bureaucracy, taxes, red tape, convoluted legal differences between states before federal laws, privacy infringements, etc. All this while developing countries have far less barriers for business entry. It is simply difficult to maintain pole position when the health of the country is in shambles. China is facing its own massive domestic issues, however, their advantage is the ability to plan ahead. The US is crippled with short term limits and egotistical popularism for career politicians. I mean heck, this topic is far too large to condense into one comment.

I am an Overseas Chinese from Malaysia, a 3rd generation Malaysian Chinese. When I was young the Chinese world to me was Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, US Chinatown and our own Chinese communities in Malaysia. China was an enigma to most of us as the media do not cover them and only spotlight China on negative events like Tiananmen.
Fotunately through the years as China opened up, we are able to discover China more and in the recent decade China is now modern, developed, clean, green, safe, futuristic, peaceful with a harmonious society as seen in this 302 video playlist on the sights and sounds of China. It made us proud to be Chinese on seeing with our own eyes on China's accomplishment but saddened by the HK riots instigated by the US and UK and Taiwan wanting to to be independent to the point of not caring whether your actions will cause a war which will affect the lives of everyone in the world as nuclear war can occurred besides the collapse of the world economy.
We find this unthinkably selfish and your collusion with the Whiteman like the US and the UK are appalling and disgusting. Taiwan is protected by what is called the Silicone Shield. This refers to the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, TSMC. They produce the most sophisticated high-end semiconductors in the world. The company is so vital to the world economy, that they are on a list of companies, worldwide, that must be protected at all cost.
China has tried to build factories to compete with TSMC, but it failed miserably. Firstly China has to build an Extreme Ultra Violet laser machine, that has to surpass the Dutch Company ASML, which is the world leader. Then construct a manufacturing facility to make the chips.
They have to make enough chips on at least one silicone disc, which must have a defective chip count of under thirty per cent, to remain profitable. This is the Achilles heel of chip-making, making enough good ones to sell.
TSMC chips are installed in the American F35 fighter Jet, among many other very important applications. The American factories, for TSMC and Intel are under construction in Arizona and are about five years away from completion.
Taiwan is safe, until China can make better chips.
The F35 is outdated why fight wars with that when a kid made and sold a $500 AI that beats all fighter jets. Drones are the way now it’s not a future. The USA own the IP of TSMC and they are passing a war time bill to bring it back home. That won't happen for a long time. See how long it took them and how much R&D money was spent before Chinese industry was able to make the ball for ball point pens. Up until 2016 (I think) all the balls for the 25 Billion pens China manufactured each year were made in Germany. It's an interesting story about a country that couldn't steal that particular "technology" and took bucket-loads of yuan to be able to eventually do it. Shame so much more technology wasn't properly protected against theft.

The west needs to support Taiwan's independence including military action if that is required.
