Donna Summer was a legend. Although normally we put interviews about deceased legendary stars in our “Gone But Not Forgotten” playlist, her husband Bruce Sudano is a great artist in his own right. So we didn’t do that. But there can be no question that most people watching this interview will be most captivated by the conversation about the fabulous Donna Summer. I absolutely adored her and was tremendously honored to interview her husband.

Harvey, I thank you for an absolutely amazing interview. Bruce is a gifted songwriter and entertainer and also a rock-solid person, a true "mensch." Donna was the GREATEST female vocalist of all time yet so underappreciated. As Bruce said, she could sing anything and own it! As well as talent, she was extraordinary in so many ways. They were soulmates destined to meet each other and live as a loving couple for 32 years supporting each other throughout their lives. Their wonderful daughters reflect that love and caring.

Mr. Sudano is unquestionably an example of a great human being just like Donna. A wise, compassionate, respectful family man who happens to be an awesome songwriter, musician, producer etc. One of the key things we can learn from this amazing couple was the ability to focus on their lives and not just their careers. Who else has the wisedom to take 20 years off to bring up their family and then return even more creative.
    Awesome!!

Thank you Harvey for this fascinating interview with Bruce Sudano. He has had an amazing career and his love and admiration for his wife Donna Summer was very touching. I still think of Donna Summer as the one who did duets with Barbra Streisand in the 1980s who really gave as good as Barbra vocally which I can't think of many who could do this.

Donna is my all-time favorite singer, which is why I feature her on my channel. It would be so wonderful if Bruce did create some kind of musical release for fans to purchase of Donna performing live standard. "Pearls" by Sade, "Superstar" by The Carpenters and "Nights In White Satin" by The Moody Blues are some great examples of what could be.

Harvey, I love the way you interview your guest, you're so real and warm, you really bring out the best in your guest. Bruce really opened up with certain questions and chose his words wisely. Donna Summer will live in my heart forever, that's just the way it is. I truly mean it when I say it. When Donna passed a part of me died too, and I still have a sadness in my heart that never seems go away. Thank you for this awesome interview.

Very heartfelt interview and you are a gifted interviewer Harvey, not many exist as you allow people to speak openly. My regard for Oprah is even more diminished that she dismissed Donna.

LOVED and grew up with Donna Summer. I continue to watch her performances on UA-cam and still mourn her loss. What an underrated talent and icon. I wanted to compliment you Mr. Brownstone on your interview style. You always manage to put the interviewee at ease, which really allows them to let down their guard and open up. I was surprised when reading your bio that you used to be a judge? Keep up the good work! Would love to see you interview Sarah Jessica Parker and Jacklyn Smith!

Thank you so much for your very kind comments about my interviewing style. I put my heart and soul into every interview, and I hope it shows. I’d love to interview Sarah Jessica Parker and Jaclyn Smith, but so far no luck convincing them. Although I’m widely considered to be the best interviewer out there, I guess I’m still not famous enough to attract some big stars…..sigh….

Larry king and merv griffin always find a way to keep guests comfortable engaged and always always took on controversial and at times uncomfortable topics in a way that was non evasive and made the guests feel ok. You can follow their lead and do both. You have great promise here but if I had some unsolicited advice you can try to be a bit more probing without crossing into the mike Wallace zone. It’s a delicate act but do able

Sorry to be critical. You should have asked him about the hateful comments about gays You could have said to him that you would respectfully edit out comments if he was uncomfortable with it. The aids comments were in the documentary and were fair game. It’s a legitimate and worthy question. Your responsibility is to ask probing questions not to be overwhelmingly non controversial. I think as a gay man and a representative of the community you were entitled and allowed to ask him to elaborate on Donna’s comments ie gay community. You should use this experience to improve as host and interviewer Harvey with all due respect. Oprah as a representative of gay community and gay rights never forgave Donna for her anti gay comments. Thats why oprah and Gayle king never invited her on the show Brucie knows this and was told by Oprah’s booking agents. He pretended not to know. Donna remains a pariah of gay community
