I love how protective and caring Nyanko-sensei gradually becomes around Natsume. At firts his only interest was the book and slowly he started to worry about him, not only phisically, but that maybe his kindness would lead to his fate and other would harm him. My favorute ep is when Nyanko becomes really mad when Natsume is wounded by a spear.

well, remember how he tried to eat him while asleep? All the talk about eating him appears to be a joke by now, but the fact that Madara is constantly eating way to much and hungry still hints at the fact that being close to Natsume, who not just acording to madara smells aluring, is actualy straining in that regard. Desiring to eat him never goes away, it just gets overshadowed by his affection for the child
I was hoping you included the episode about the mermaid, where Nyanko sensei said to Natsume that, natsume should have drank the mermaids blood and that would made Natsume immortal. But Natsume then said it would mean nyanko sensei would no longer get the book of friends.

i think nyanko sensei knows about Reiko's death and he might have something to do with it. He felt somewhat guilty about it, that's why he's protecting takashi at all cost. So that what had happened to Reiko wouldn't happen to Takashi again. Just a thought. 😗

I find it adorable that he has a cat called Nyanko sensei. There is a video for his DGS podcast with Ono Daisuke where they told him to leave his apartment on his birthday. They said "take the cat with you" jokingly, he said " I can't take Nyanko Sensei outside", and it was such a surreal thing to hear😂.

It's kind of a bad site, but I got the rest on 9anime.to , if you want somewhere to see the rest. There are annoying pop ups but just back out of them. Other than that I was able to see it all there. There are also DVDs, but turns out the one I got was a knock off from Malaysia. It had all the seasons though and that's how I saw it all the first time. Nyanko-sensei is Natsume's grandad. This is why Natsume can punch youkai or tell them what to do, and youkai medicine works on him, because he is 1/4 youkai.
It's a fun theory, I personally think that it is going to be someone else though, as natsume seems to have inherited is strength directly from reiko who could also defeat yokai easily. But its always fun hearing everyone's ideas of who it will be, I hope the author reveals it sometime soon🤞

Volume 28 recently released in English, volume 29 released a while back in Japan, volume 30 is currently being written. A new chapter comes out every other month on the 24th. @@a_me_1 Haa, is there anything about Reiko? She so mysterious. After that long serialization, we barely knew about her past/life, when most of the youkai Natsume encounter had history with her. I really want to own the series but it's expensive in my country for a manga with few pages and take minutes to finish. Currency exchanges.
I'm not sure how much you've read so potential spoiler warning below but I'll try to keep stuff vague as we still havent found out much. There was a two part chapter about how she started the book of friends. It was called 'tell me your name' part 1 and 2. It is chapter 88 and 89, you can read it on dog circle scans tumblr/mangadex. There is a japanese chapter that hasn't been translated yet that features some yokai who met her or knew about her, but as far as I know there isn't really significant information about her, outside of a few things Hinoe says, mainly that Reiko acted cool. Though that's not really new, we know Reiko kept her distance from others already. I hope she gets more chapters soon though, chapter 88 and 89 were very good😄
It's okay don't loose hope😊. We got a new special episode in 2021, there was a 5 year gap between season 4 and 5. The manga is doing very well and is having it's 20 year anniversary this year, with volume 29 releasing in Japan. It is selling well and it will be the anime 15th anniversary this year aswell. There is constantly new merch in Japan, brand collaborations and some cafe type things too. On top of that the studio that makes it has announced that they have been working on a new project for the past year that they will announce later this year. It may not be natsume, it could be anything, but there is hope as it seems to be their most profitable ongoing work. I think the gaps between seasons are largely due to the manga releasing bi monthly. There are only new chapters every 2 months, so it takes 2 to 4 months (sometimes more) to have enough content for a new episode and many more for a new season, but there is almost enough for 2 more seasons now so there's a good chance still😊

Can i know the progress of this manga? It's been ages since people update it.
Volume 28 recently released in English, volume 29 released a while back in Japan, volume 30 is currently being written. A new chapter comes out every other month on the 24th. It is up to chapter 122+ or something I believe. Is there any specific information you want to know about the plot or anything like that?😄
@@a_me_1 Haa, is there anything about Reiko? She so mysterious. After that long serialization, we barely knew about her past/life, when most of the youkai Natsume encounter had history with her.
I really want to own the series but it's expensive in my country for a manga with few pages and take minutes to finish. Currency exchanges.
I'm not sure how much you've read so potential spoiler warning below but I'll try to keep stuff vague as we still havent found out much.
There was a two part chapter about how she started the book of friends. It was called 'tell me your name' part 1 and 2. It is chapter 88 and 89, you can read it on dog circle scans tumblr/mangadex.
There is a japanese chapter that hasn't been translated yet that features some yokai who met her or knew about her, but as far as I know there isn't really significant information about her, outside of a few things Hinoe says, mainly that Reiko acted cool. Though that's not really new, we know Reiko kept her distance from others already. I hope she gets more chapters soon though, chapter 88 and 89 were very good😄

We got a new special episode in 2021, there was a 5 year gap between season 4 and 5.
The manga is doing very well and is having it's 20 year anniversary this year, with volume 29 releasing in Japan. It is selling well and it will be the anime 15th anniversary this year aswell.
There is constantly new merch in Japan, brand collaborations and some cafe type things too.
On top of that the studio that makes it has announced that they have been working on a new project for the past year that they will announce later this year. It may not be natsume, it could be anything, but there is hope as it seems to be their most profitable ongoing work.
I think the gaps between seasons are largely due to the manga releasing bi monthly. There are only new chapters every 2 months, so it takes 2 to 4 months (sometimes more) to have enough content for a new episode and many more for a new season, but there is almost enough for 2 more seasons now so there's a good chance still😊
