But how were you able to find some lifelong Ilves fans and few people leaning to Tappara but who weren't that much fans? 😅 Don't expect this to give too good picture of normal support or fan base in Tampere. As Ilves home match, there are of course mostly Ilves supporters in the arena. In derbys, Ilves has dominated in recent years but what comes to winning championships, Tampere is blue 💙 and orange 🧡.

It's many times researched that Tappara-Ilves fans distribute pretty much 50-50 in the city of Tampere and the surrounding towns and rural areas. We Tappara fans also experienced awful 90's, then won 2003 and again fell down in the bottom of the table. Still we never stopped going to matches. For Ilves, 4500 crowds were normal five years ago. Now that they finally have become top teams in the league and reached two bronzes, the attendance has increased significantly. So you don't have glory hunters? :D Tappara and Ilves attendances have been pretty similar in recent few years, Tappara getting higher average this year.
