Goddamn, I remember back in the early 2000's when the speedrun strat was to knock a shade turret off the cliff and go down with it, grab a ghost and get the banshee. 15~ years later and we have this crazy shit.
oh shit dude, I'm sure it's been lost like most other old Halo vids out there. I know the guy threw a plasma nade by one of the legs, hopped in, and got to the bottom without triggering the fall timer by bouncing off the cliff.
@@BlazedBacon627 I didn't look into speedrunning till fairly recently but I was under the impression that the shade strat only worked with the PAL version because of the difference in fall damage or something
@ChouRaiyuki I'm pretty sure all versions have the same basic mechanics, fall damage wouldn't matter anyways since you can't take any while in a vehicle unless you hit the fall timer.
This is so much easier than the bridge drop. Thank you sir! I got 100% on TMCC and now doing the Chinese version for more gamerscore and this really helped a lot better than the other video I used last time

You need to be in the correct spot and crouch just right, else the banshee will not properly jam under the door frame. When he is jammed, walking to the other side of the door will get him to eject. i don't know for sure, but i think the banshee hitbox extends further down below the vehicle than the model makes it seem in certain areas. so when you smack the banshee and run underneath it to a certain spot, the hitbox sort of "squishes" you and when you try to move while the two hitboxes are colliding with each other, the game will try to push you in a direction to hopefully separate the hitboxes. but if it pushes you into a different hitbox (like a wall), it'll push you even farther so that you're not stuck inside said wall. and if you angle yourself just right such that everytime it tries to teleport you somewhere, your hitbox is colliding with a wall, forcing it to teleport you farther, you can get it to teleport you to specific spots. again, i don't really know for a fact, but this is just what i've been assuming.
That's pretty close, as far as I know. There's also the fact that Halo CE only does collision calculations X times per second, so if you're moving fast enough and hit an object or wall, you can pass through it because you're too quick for the game to check whether you've hit something or not.
I am new in Halo and I was about to rip my guts in these level. Instead of waiting for the ship to fall I walked my way across the bridge trying to kill one on one every enemy. Like 50 attempts and more than an hour.
Playing the normal way is fun. But once you've exhausted it, this is also fun. I no longer like this game. Too 'dark'. I prefer beautiful games like mirrors edge. Why do games always have to have ugly evil things in ugly evil places?! 😢 This game is intense. Not many games like this. No harder difficulties, it keeps you on edge no matter how many times You've played it.
@@edwardcullen3251 Woah, you just stated something I've never consciously realized. Namely, that this game always feels intense, even when you've played it countless times before. I think that's partly why I like it so much. It's one of the few games you can get truly immersed in, every single time you play it.
I figured out a Truth And Reconciliation skip, When your in the control room after saving Captain Keyes, kill all the marines to make Captain Keyes hostile. Once hostile to one of the doors and go through it, then the end cutscene will play.

Holy shit. I saw Garish at SGDQ do the Halo Speedrun and it's just amazing how the community finds these exploits. Garish has inspired me. I've been playing Halo MCC and trying to do part scores and times. To bad they don't have these bugs/glitches in MCC.

Literally nothing but trial and error and a week of staring down the ass of a Banshee. Me and Burnt spent a lot of hours perfecting them to get to where they are now, lol. Most of the groundwork was Burnt's, though
The trick was found by Joshington . If you look up "JumpYardTV" you can see his extensive collection of CE speedrunning strats that he has found himself, including the banshee teleport, which was uploaded months ago.
