As a contractor that's been doing this for over 36 years the organization and the scheduling of like say putting floor down before you take out a 10,000 lb vault door and everything which I don't know how much it weighs but I'm just telling you in your first few minutes showed me exactly what I dealt with for 36 years people do not know how to regulate or not regulate but the schedule let's just put that on it scheduled things in the proper order where it wouldn't be damaging other things that are happening they put one thing before another when Ashley the thing before that should have came let's destroy a perfectly good floor that shouldn't have been put in before this project was done and that's just way contractors are because they get paid on production of what they can get done the fastest and the unfortunate part is sometimes that's just the way it has to be because they got to get that check
Award for most 'special characters' in the intro! Get yourself a needle scaler for that rod slag - chip it away and stress relieve the weld bead all in one shot. That was a lot of effort and a blind man could see how it could have gone south in a hurry during the door move and lay-down. Great teamwork!
Same kind of job in Montreal... bank to police station. I lighten the door by dismantling the mechanics. Then we lift it up with a pallet jack and let it drop face down on tires. Same size but heavier and taller than yours. It went fine.
Tay, I'm impressed, you and you're team are so professional, I'm a construction inspector locally to you, and I rarely see anyone sweep, clean, and care about other trades as much as you and your team does....two thumbs up....
10:40 - *Impact first* , always lol, *ask me how I know* 13:10 - *Confirmation* lol *This is definitely a testament to the Harbor Freight Gantry* ! My initial worry was that it isn't mild steel for welding the D-rings. If it's hardened you would need to preheat to truly fuse. I would've welded a third as a backup "oh shit" feature lol. *I sat on edge through every minute of this video* 20:45 - I'm so glad you mentioned safety in a serious sense! There's time for "safety squints" and a time for, "oh shit, we could lose a foot / leg" amazing job guys, you've long been my favorite channel and this video is another solid production! By the way, from a Business perspective, I wanted to make sure you're charging every client for *LIFT GATE SERVICE* every time that truck goes somewhere LOL, no, just kidding, but again guys, great work, great job, great attitudes, and video! 33:54 - You can get bottles recertified, my local Linde / Praxair gave me the name of a place, $50 a bottle for testing / recertifications. I think it was a Fire Safety Equipment Supply type business, hydrostatic testing
Arc 3 really shafted you on your old tanks. They damn well know they’re still good and They just need to be hydro tested. Any good gas supplier that you give a good amount of business especially someone like yourself shouldn’t even question you on those tanks. Might be time to find yourself a new supplier. I can’t say enough good things about Linde gas
Without actually seeing the previous hydrotest stamps, I think it's unfair to say Arc3 is ripping him off... Maybe the tanks already failed to get a 10 year stamp previously and Arc3 could tell based on some other criteria (rust?) That they weren't going to pass the next test?
I like crazy so this is one of my favorites episodes of all time. I wish you had used the door's heavy plate for a shop worktable and it could then have starred in two vids must have been 1.5-2.5" thick. Ray Stormont
One of my many jobs was delivering installing and moving safes. Much respect for the gravity they contain even with the specialty lifting gear we had a few embarrassing moments. But you sure did ok 👍
A. Riggers you ain't. 😉 Moving that kind of stuff is what they do. I'm happy no one was killed or injured. I can't believe you trusted your life to Harbor Freight. B. Safe doors are often filled with concrete. Surprised the scrap yard didn't know that. C. I've seen tanks that were manufactured during WW2. Saying you can't reuse those tanks seems like bad information. D. You didn't blur all the Starbucks signs. 😂
hopefully you didn't get rid of those tanks. they just need to be rehydro tested. my local welding supply will take just about anything they just charge you a 30 dollar hydro fee. swap you out to new owner bottles and off you go.
I think a thermal lance (or oxylance) might have been a better choice for cutting the hinges. With one of those you likely could have sectioned the door also.
you need to make some millwright friends, we move stuff like this everyday since a lot of the parts weigh multiple tons. also #10 torch tips will smoke through darn near any thickness you want in a hurry
Tay Tay Tay, pass on the gas. From what I have seen, especially if you want anything like a clean cut. Research " Air carbon arc cutting, metal arc gouging ". Way less expensive, way cleaner deeper cut, way less mess. Watch a video or two (2). It will blow your mind!
It takes a lot of gas I cut 4-1/2 thick steel by hand at work a couple times big tip a little preheat and go to town it care of fun good job moving that monster
Man that rigging was painful. For one the welded on D rings should have gone parallel on the top not 90 degrees and on that angle . The rigging once it was lifted they should have just layed it down flat as is , put on some dunnage then re rigged from the side and rolled up on its side and up, then roll cart under . Sketchy but otherwise I like the this channel 👍
I immediately thought this episode was going to be cutting into Aaron’s safe, yeah I’m slow. Not sure why you didn’t just use the “go to” a 4 1/2 angle grinder with a chipped 9 inch abrasive wheel? That’s what they would hand me at my job.
Tay judging from what you had on the truck and 4700lb total. I would say the door weighed atleast 3000lbs. Stainless here in Calif gets over 50 cents a lbs, can't imagine much different in Virginia. If it has mild steel parts attached to it they might downgrade it to 35 cents a lb if the stuff unbolts from it then less of a downgrade 45 a lb. Sorry Tay but they done did screwed you at that scap yard. Should of bin around $1500 for that door.
I don’t think you should have used nickel plated rings to lift from and it would be safer to weld them parallel with the door and use a spreader from a single chain fall. Side loading a lifting point can decrease its effective lifting capacity by 50% or more. Glad no one was hurt. That could have gone very, very badly. But, much more knowledge was gained and so overall a success!
What could possibly go wrong? I'm thinking ya really should have had a carbon arc just by the comments. I'll watch the rest of the 3 stooges take out a safe door to confirm my hypothesis.
I can’t stress enough how bad of an idea it was to rigid weld those d-rings…. Jesus Christ. At the very least consult a rigger before you do something like this ever again.
That damn guy RIPPED himself off. Should have been way more $$$loot$$$ @ the SCRAP YARD he threw all his auto-cast in wit tin. All tht Stainless should been worth lots more. That Stainless tho I would have kept and thrown into my inventory tho
Love how modest you guys are not even bragging that Mario is making a cameo in this video.
BRUH HAHAHA
Update: Aaron shaved his mustache right after we showed him this comment 😂 - Walker

This is amazing and I'm here for it. As a safe technician, I get to do some pretty cool shit... but nothing this badass. 👍😁👍
Man, as a certified rigger, you guys had me cringing the whole time. You got it done and no one was hurt. That's a pass in my book!
me too

Wow that was hard to read. Use some commas and periods in your text...🤦🏼♂️

"Know your exit plan"...... well timed words from Tay.
Good god damn love that the lift arc crew brought the promise and then fulfilled it. Thanks guys

Lift Arc Studios where Curssing is our Love Language --- haha Great work -- Fun Video!!
what we learn from this video: Don't hire Lift Arc for a bank heist 😂
Well, that would be profit sharing.
*You only bid $500 for a job like that once, lol*
Man, I sure am curious what the coffee shop is going to be ... 32:49 🤣

Yeah they're amazing pieces of engineering for sure! And I appreciate the kind words even though we accidentally torched the thing!
@@LiftArcStudios lol they are not meant to be taken apart you know 🙂
It's almost like these doors were designed to resist removal 🙃
Very much door, so much safe-eeeh-ty! *Imagine the "Right in front of my OSHA manual!" meme here* 🤣

Very nice. Thanks for showing us all the stops along the way too. Crazy heavy stuff is always scary.
Can the cables for the gantry lifting not lift the door and the gantry at the same time giving you more room?
i like how they went to the trouble of blurring Starbucks on one side of the building, but not the other... then didn't bother in the next scene. 🤣
iTS HARD OKAYYYYY lol
Ever have one of those lives when everything breaks... It's nice to see what winning looks like...
Explosives just work quicker. And with vault doors, quicker IS BETTER! 🤣🤣🤣

Clearly it was a Starbucks because it was blurred at one point and then not the next 😂

Some poor laborer is gonna be grinding the leftovers for like a week 😂
Air arc gouging could of been nice to remove those hinges too instead of that torch lol
I seem to remember something about a a stick rod that cuts????
probably the floor was the sensitive piece and they didnt want to take any risks :)
Do you mean carbon arc gouging rods? They use a combination or electricity and compressed air.
It takes a lot of gas I cut 4-1/2 thick steel by hand at work a couple times big tip a little preheat and go to town it care of fun good job moving that monster
Yes I was just thinking that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree when it comes to Demolition.
hahahaha yeahhhh, its was inevitable
That didn't look sketchy at all!🤪🙂

Awesome video!
Just dropping off the Geraldo joke…never mind, I thought you guys were going to open it.
The coffee shop lost a very good coffee vault.

Dang do they have a Frank at every one of the arc3 there's a Frank at my arc3 here in Durham North Carolina

has anyone figured out where this is yet?
Starbucks Salem Virginia
1499 West Main Street, Spartan Dr, Salem, VA
As obvious as it is who the major coffe chain is. You forgot to blur out the drive thru sign around the 32 min mark.

What happened to Wyatt? Did he go elsewhere or just not like being on camera?
Arron the mustache is looking good, just wondering if you're moonlighting as a cop?
were the hinges made of stainless? stainless doesn't cut with fuel.
Quick, spot the GC superintendent!
the editing inserts are so choice. much guffawing occurred.
Spike worked the hardest.
Did Spike write this?

Don’t film yourself while driving , ( eg: make a left turn across traffic while holding camera ) FYI - it’s dangerous ! !
