if you didn't know, getting two staff of unhealings makes your healing do double damage (3 gives triple and so on i assume). it's pretty busted if you're able to get it and the mana to support it
He barely sustained one staff with 3 orbs. 6 orbs would be insane.
First run, you books never went off because the staff consumed too much mana. But that's fine, they still healed and boosted your holy armor.
I tried an unhealing staff build yesterday but used some vamp gloves and vamp daggers to add on top of the vampirism stacks. With rubies in daggers, thorns wasn't an issue (just a bit scary if they were able to stack it fast, before I got some decent armor). I also had a bird to speed things up considerably by the time fatigue damage came into play.
Tried it a few times you defiantly have to be given the mana orb early or you need to jump ship. Or hold a broom in inventory and just be playing something else and switch into this if you hit. edit: ok yea for sure whats being done in this video is sub optimal. You never play broom until you have the mana orb out. What hes doing is a good end state but its a horible line. You play best board and switch into this if you hit mana orb early. You can roll for the broom if your under round 10 fairly easily. Youll have the gold on the board from whatever other weapon you were running to switch into it. Im also finding if you find broom pan early you just make the shovel for econ / health preserve and find another broom once you have an orb. Theres nearly no scenario where you sit with a broom and pan and just let them not fuse.
I love seeing you play this game and absolutely can't wait for the full release. It's gonna be so hype this spring with full Balatro and Backpack Battles dropping.
Guessing these are recorded a while ago? The shields are adding block which they don't do anymore I thought??
Seems to me like the staff of unhealing was casting too quickly to the point that you never got past 10 mana for book. The activator bags made it a 1.4s cd when it really only needed to be slightly below 2s to keep the healing to damage buff active.
I'm glad you found some love for Manathirst; I honestly love it in unhealing builds.
Mana dagger is what I'm maining. All blueberries, can't blind me with 40+ luck lol

Tip 1: Always put the better potion above the weaker potion.
Tip 2: Just swap the left ruby with the herbs and it can combine.
This works so well! Tried it and only dropped 1 round in low diamond. I'm adding corrupted crystals as well for the fatigue and I feel like you can afford them since you don't need that many items.

manathirst has been my favorite weapon for a hot minute, so im glad its getting some love with these patches!
Have you tried stacking amethysts in armor? I've had a pretty good deal of success with it, since so many people mitigate damage through healing. Pair it with a sapphire weapon and you're ignoring armor on top of ignoring their healing options. It'd also crush this build since unhealing does nothing when healing is prevented.
double staff of unhealing is insane. i didn't lose a single trophy till i hit diamond where its pretty much 50/50 if you don't get your stuff earlygame and just get kicked out by earlygame builds
WTF I play the same build but I usually only get my First Mana Orb in the late game is really laughable at times. It's already going into extension mode and then I finally see an orb in the fucking store while the dang potion for the staff has been lying in the box for at least 4 rounds. By the way you should combine the build with the voodoo doll and the exhaustion crystals this makes a lot in the endgame
it the first potion you made that pop first, i've noticed when i played.
I feel like if you're trying to force staff of unhealing an early gembox is a mistake, you're diluting the pool of items which will make it harder to find the combo pieces you need.
in a couple of weeks or days the meta is running amethyst in armor. to reduce healing for opponents
Staff of unhealing + manathirst + djinn lamp = no dying
Is this build stronger and/or easier to make than the poison/demonic potions version?

I've been playing a ton of this, and going the fatigue route with struggles and gems works really well and normally doesn't lose to fatigue.
What if you have two staffs? Does it work like that? Im thinking like the dark scythe poison bomb is stronger with two scythes

This could have been a very different build were you not forcing unhealing the whole game. Turn 2 shovel and turn 3 thorn whip ignored in favor of going for it
