i used to work at a mcdonalds… all the customers be on some bs
I never worked there, but I had a lot of friends who did, and I “dated” one of their managers for a while, and I spent a lot of time hanging out in the back with them while they were working. It gave me a whole new respect for the people working in fast food. Customers would flip out over the dumbest thing, and most of the time/to an extent, they just had to take it from the customers. I remember one lady in the drive thru, after being handed her drink, handed it back and yelled at the girl working the window for handing her a drink with soda in the lid (like, they put the lid on and a dime-sized bit of soda leaked through the straw hole) and the lady demanded she wipe it off before handing it back out, and went on about how it was so “unprofessional” of them to expect her to accept such sloppy presentation. Like, lady, you’re in a McD’s drive thru, probably because you’re too big to walk into Subway. Then, she kind of leaned forward and saw me standing just off to the side, in street clothes, just staring at her in disbelief that anyone would get so worked up about a little soda on the lid, and then she started yelling at me “And what’re you doing?! Y’all are just standing around doing nothing. No wonder…” so my manager gf stepped in front of me and pushed me out of the way so she could talk the lady down…

I work at an Arby’s, you know how many people come through complaining about cold fries that we most definitely did drop fresh for their sake? Too many. Some don’t even try the food before they declare it cold
honest drive through question. Why yall forget atleast one item in our order, but never add in an extra?

Mori, you dont work at a fast food restaurant. I do. It takes 2 secs to whip up a burger, which means her fries are fine by the time we are done making it. She doesnt get a new order because one item is wrong. She will have to pay for the fresh fries.

That’s not necessarily true. I’ve worked at a bunch of fast food places and I know first hand that the staff (most times) don’t care if the food the customer gets is hot and fresh (like it should be if you were the one receiving the food)

Imma I have to disagree with you there. Getting a new burger, has nothing to do with fresh fries. Don’t get me wrong we all love, fresh hot fries with our food. But I don’t think it’s necessary to give her a small fry just because her burger was messed up. Everybody expects fresh food, but never wants to wait for it.

As someone who has worked in the service industry, they don't get paid enough to deal with this mess. Taking out your phone and recording someone who is barely getting paid minimum wage, who probably has an absentee/Shitty management, who probably cried before coming to work and is probably in debt is not a good idea. You never know what might be the final straw for these people because trust and believe she was not the first Karsn that girl had to deal with that day. I'm telling you someone gone f around and get toe tagged one of these days.

The problem was with the burger. They replaced the burger. The fries were fresh. If Karen waited and they got cold, that’s Karen’s problem.
If someone is filming me, and complaining even after I’ve fixed the problem, I’m not doing any favors for you.
Customers like this come there every day specifically to order shit they know is so convoluted and complicated you'll have a 50 percent chance of getting SOMETHING wrong so they can come back and both bully you with almost no consequences but see how they can spin that into free food. They keep coming back because it keeps working. There needs to be a rule if you do this on a regular basis you just get banned permanently at ALL public places.
I think ethically it would be plausible and ideal to eat the fries while waiting as you purchased them and the burger, but the burger was cold not the fries. So yes she could or should have ate the fries while waiting. But also, it’s moreover stubbornness about the idea of eating fries with your burger. Yes that’s what we want and would like and prefer to do, but we don’t have too and aren’t obligated to do so. I see both sides and points. If I were to be the worker; out of the kindness of my heart from the burger not being hot, it does make sense to provide her hot new fries if she asked to have that with her burger. She did pay for it and offered to give the cold fries back. Customer also offered to pay for new hot fries if had to eat her burger with hot fries meant purchasing again. That’s a customers request. A human is asking. And it’s under our discretion to help humanity in these ways. The worker was not thinking with great customer service. She was not going above and beyond for the customer. And the attitude on Face wasn’t helping either to lower or deescalate the situation to try to calm down the customer and reassure her that they were listening, because clearly at first, they were not listening to the customer; resulting to the customer taking action whipping the camera out, to have something be done that could or should have been done in the first place. If it ended up not being too hard to give the lady hot fries, then why was it too hard for the worker to do it before? and none of this miscommunication would be happening, hope it gets better for both of them and we all learn something of how to do better and react better here. So we can prevent situations like this from happening. Great life lesson. Xoxo ❤😊

some people complain everyday i had a guy order our fresh avocado toast online but pick it up 2 hrs later then say it’s old and say we don’t make fresh food and kept reporting us yet he kept ordering and we kept remaking it . he would order 4 of them so that was almost $40 worth of food being thrown away everyday . at some point you just don’t want to keep wasting money especially when the person above you is complaining about sales to food ratios 💯
