It seems cramming forces you to do the things that are more effective in learning like interleaving, retrieval practice, etc. People completely underestimate the amount of stuff they forget anyway, so if you actually want to learn something, you might as well cram for the exam and then do spaced repetition.

poor soul, i can imagine the pressure you were under. Recently I failed my first ever essay in uni and thats how I found Justin Sung and you. The redo of the essay was coming up and I felt like I needed more time to make it great, but my sister convinced me to give it a shot, because expecting new chance after new chance is such an extravagance, I should do what is expected of me and try my best. So I wrote the essay and to be honest I wasn’t happy with it, but it went better than expected and I got the best grade. It felt so weird, I was happy but it felt undeserving - I think I could have done it so much better. But I will just work harder to write my other essays a lot better and I’m feeling pretty motivated

As an International A Level student preparing for Oxbridge, the number of lessons at school was increased significantly recently with EPQ (Extended Project Qualification), MAT Training, and so on along with increased burden.
However, I always complete my homework, tasks and revise knowledge as soon as possible during self-study lessons and my extra free time with my study plan and daily tasks list, so I do not need to cram at all to study and get A*.
Thanks for your fruitful tips if I really need to cram under heavier pressure without free time.
