Not sure that I understand why people think this is not a great song. It's got a beautiful melody, great lyrics, ("Make my eyes tell no lies to my heart") and it's sung with conviction by a man with a unique voice. What's not to like?
Happy to read so much positive comments. I follow him from the start in 1962 and his voice is still unique and soothing the ears. 90% he sings are great melodious songs. Keep it going Colin!
A dear friend of mine introduced me to this artist. So glad he did. What a beautiful angelic voice he has. He has continued to prove to us over such along time how underrated he is. Thankyou for posting this clip. I'm not going to mention the feeling of uneasiness how Colin Blunstone was introduced it sends shudders down my spine.
Adrian.....If you haven't already, treat yourself to" Ennismore" by Colin Blunstone.....one of the most beautiful romantic albums ever.....and then anything by ....Willy. Deville.........
thanks for this incredible post - met him the other night at the coach house in san juan capistrano on 10/2/11 - such a genuine individual, amiable and true as can be. his voice still sounds the same as it did - not one iota different
Most singers settle into the "intimate" OR the "strong & loud" voice. Colin is in the 2% of gifted, sensitive and strong singers who can do both, all in one song. And make you want to hear it again, surprised at what you heard...Joseph Loesch
Those were the days - when the singer's hair was as long as the girls' in the audience! I remember watching this clip on TOTP and thinking, "what an irresistable melody". I've always loved the line, "let my eyes tell no lies to my heart".
What a turn-off to see Jimmy Savile introducing this! Colin Blunstone sings as flawlessly as ever. Saw him live with the Zombies this year and was delighted to hear him still hitting those high notes effortlessly as he approaches 70.
@wouldntyoulike2know Your a 100% right...I agree, is it because the way he smiles, his body or his voice....I think all together it makes a perfect picture...:-)))
+Cletus Awreetus-Awrightus Nix Nix, prorsus contrarium ! I live in the Middle East yet Sir Pervert Saville is well known. His very cynical visage shows us that what we see is often an illusion.
Shows what an awful unfunny DJ Savile was; a very average broadcaster. I did not know that Blunstone had appeared on TOTP with this, which deserved to be a much bigger hit than it was.
The man with the voice of a melancholy angel.

I saw this video over and over and over again, but never enough.
Nothing can compare to his smile while singing .So cute, too cute.
Always loved Colins breathy vocals. Superb Artist.
Such an emotive voice. Funny seeing people dancing to it.

Colin Blunstone is the VOICE!
Just love this man. 73 now and still as gorgeous and singing as well as ever. :) Shame about the introduction but we are wiser now.
It has to be the biggest mystaries music history why Colin did not become a massive star ,
He and his Zombie mates are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are widely appreciated.
Colin smiling while singing is what first hooked me, this video show it well...

Agreed. Savile is a demon! What a creep.

Funny that this showed up in the YT feed. It was co-written by my Dad who also is the pianist too.

Great voice
Blast from the past in a positive way!
Say you don't mind is my favourite
greatest voice ever for me.....
everything about this clip is magical. This song might possibly sound cliched by other singers- not CB.
Lindo
Voice is great....
The Breath. Oooh.
Colin is a prince among men; Savile is a terrifying creep.
I have always liked this song, not so sure about those back-up singers! I thought Colin
Was great though.
MDZ je t'aime
Quite lovely.
( I don't think he should be airbrushed out of history but Jimmy Saville doesn't contribute much to this song)
If only Saville could be edited out. Creep

Cletus Awreetus-Awrightus Totally Agree,..Edit the ****** Out!
I agree...Cut Savile, please!

Good old Jim intreducing this good song
intro by we know who, ironic or what! given the title
...sure is... SolsburyHil22...
....Savvy definitely dared to be wrong.....👍🏾💩
heard he had lung cancer , is it true?
TRIGGER ALERT: Top of the Pops into by the vile savile.
Shows what an awful unfunny DJ Savile was; a very average broadcaster. I did not know that Blunstone had appeared on TOTP with this, which deserved to be a much bigger hit than it was.
Lovely song, shame about the introduction....
This guy has such a rare and gorgeous voice. Too bad the song he's singing is kinda corny and cliched.
Gross seeing JS in the beginning creepy.
Cliched & corny? Certainly no more than most of the pop songs out there today...and ever since.
