As someone who owns one, its ergonomics are horrific and it's purpose was to be mounted to the end of a M-16 to be used as a coup de grace for hunters but mounting a gun on a gun is illegal in some states, it also jams non stop.
It has one good feature that it used standard Marlin 10 round magazines. I got mine new for 75 dollars new back in the day but word got around quickly as to how bad they were even for 125 dollars so gun stores started clearance them out .

The Lynx is not a sniper rifle, it’s a bull pup anti-material rifle.
With a recoil absorbing barrel. Its length makes it a SBR, so requires a "200 tax stamp. And everyone but God will know that you have one. You'll go on special list reserved for terr6.

the XM8 wasnt chosen for the program because the weapon platform didnt meet US military standards at the time
I distinctly recall the XM8 having a heat tolerance issue; the plastic furniture of the handguards would melt as the barrel reached certain temperatures from repeated/sustained automatic fire.
Yet, the only dudes who actually has the XM8 in service is Malaysia
Pretty sure the XM8 wasn't chosen because it didn't warrant the high cost of fielding such a rifle. Sure, it looked cool, but compared to the average M4A1 carbine, it was more or less the same while being at a much higher price.

The H&K XM8 shown was a Airsoft replica of it, so no the real steel gun does not use batteries

The Hungarian large caliber rifle still has plenty of recoil. If it didn’t, the man shooting it wouldn’t be pushed back with every shot. But, the amount of recoil left is fantastic for a 12.7 mm round!
The xm8 is an airsoft you can clearly see that on the top of the magazine, they even showed the batterys and the ejection window

Yea I'm fairly sure the bullpen arrangement has more to do with overall length of the firearm, as opposed to recoil dampening.
bro can fire while standing so i dont think the recoil is that bad, if you would fire the bfg for example or the barret, it would knock you back much more

Police officers have been using the Remington 870 in 12 guage smoothbore with 00 buckshot and slugs since it's introduction and have them in virtually in every squad vehicle.

The Gepárd GM6 Lynx is a anti-materiel rifle not a sniper rifle. There is also a version that uses the 14,5x113 caliber round.
One of the reasons the XM8 failed, is that it used to melt or heat up when firing fully automatically.

What's so special about a PMR? If they were gonna do a Keltec weapon they should have gone with the KSG. I finally got one and I freaking LOVE it. I've got almost $700 into it and another $1,000 to go but even out of the box (besides having no sights whatsoever) the thing runs like a tank.

Assault rifle is a real thing m4 is considered an assault rifle meant to be used as suppressing fire for a squad while a larger caliber like 308 would be used as a battle rifle. Most of the assault rifles were made in the vein of the German “sturmgewher”?
Legally the definition is a rifle with select fire capability. So burst and auto.
Politically it's any rifle that is color black, uses a small round, can't be used in most states for deer hunting, and is manufactured by armalite.
The fake political nomenclature you're looking for is Assualt Weapon not Assualt Rifle. Assualt Rifles are a real classification of Firearms with certain characteristics that earn the designation. Assualt Weapons are a political term to instill fear in the ignorant plebs who can't be bothered to learn basic information but certainly like to vote.
Neither answer is 100% correct. The definition of an Assault rifle is a moderate ccartridge battle rifle that is both select fire, and is designed for infantry usage.

2:20 - a 5.56 (M-16) caliber that doesn't offer any actual advantage over an M-16. Same 30 round capacity magazines. Same 100 round drum mags, and an overall more bulky (not to mention goofy looking) package.... No wonder it got cancelled. I imagine the "Malaysian Military" only use it because the got a rock bottom offer in a promotional offer attempt by HK.

Lynx was actually something Barrett was request by the army. The army wanted a shoulder-fired-anti-material rifle, designed to take down helicopters. Barrett created the M82A2 but half way through the process the Army canceled the project, and it never got pass the testing phase. Bull pup 50 BMG sniper is a pretty dumb idea ngl.
In Viet Nam a scoped M2 took out an enemy officer at 2,400 yards.1,200 feet beyond the stated 6,000 effective range.

the m41-A Pulse rifle is never once mentioned in the Terminator series. however the phased pulse rifle in the 40 gigawat range is mentioned as it is the standard rifle for bother the terminators and the resistance.
It's in the list of weapon replacements for the t-x (terminator 3) after the cemetery chase sceen where it's arm is damaged. Near the bottom of the list look for a weapon called needler and it is 4 down from that m41 pulse rifle. It was added as a nod to James Cameron as he directed both terminator 1&2 and Aliens.

Technically it is a silencer as original patent was held by a muffler manufacturer and it list name as a silencer, though it technically only suppresses volume through a variety of methods based on design, mostly dealing with dropping decibel level of air movement and changing no mechanical noises

the gyrojet was made in california for the military in Vietnam, but the ammunition was so expensive they stopped producing it

Imagine if someone made a double barrel desert eagle modified with modernized nitro express rounds. If to powerful, modify it further to have a rifle stock, and longer muzzle and barrel.

The Remington 870 was/is a shotgun not a rifle unless you turn it into a pulse rifle!That .22 plastic Zip Gun was reported to be virtually hopeless and very unreliable.With that opening picture it looks like a.50 AE which somehow has a yellow 20 gauge shotgun shell, perhaps out out a Remington 870?,stuck in it which of course is far too big to fit in a .50 as I think that 20 gauge is the equivalent of about .62.
