Basically, for pacifist, it has to do with projectile/item ownership. Tiki traps don’t count because they’re not a freestanding thing, they only exist because of the immovable blocks. Anything you own can give you ownership of another thing. So an item leaving your hands by throwing counts as ownership, and similarly triggering an arrow trap tells the game “the arrow is your fault”, so when it triggers another arrow trap it thinks “ok since the arrow that triggered it was your fault, the arrow that came out of this one is your fault.” The fault persists until it comes to a rest on the ground. I believe items launched by bombs also count as your fault by a similar token. I think the scarabs are counted as kill when collected because the idea is you grab them (as they run away from you) and then you sell the gold and gems they’re made of to make a bit of money. Kill fault is a really complicated system in this game, but that’s the gist of it. (One hack if you try to go further in the future is that if hired hands are acting on their own - as in, not just if you throw them at things - what they attack aren’t considered your kills.) Hope all that provides a bit more clarity!

If my friend looks sick, I'm going to ask if they are okay. So that connection is wrong. The thing is: we are not friends. It's a parasocial relationship.
