From someone going to hellfest since 2014 and doing a lot of small fest/show : it's too everything, too good and too much as the same time Insane line up : 160 bands, for me : a perfect mix of band I have already seen but wan to watch again, band I want to watch, and give a lot of opportunity to discover new band, before and during the fest. also it give the opportunity to see bands I'wouldn't have seen outside Hellfest, like folk bands as I wouldn't buy ticket only for them. the atmosphere is like being in an other world, the there are decorations everywhere, it's beautiful, specially during the night, with all the fire and lighting it's also a great opportunity for a lot of small bands to get popular, as the Hellfest is, at least in France, the big metal things to do, I have this feeling that, if you have played at hellfest, you are definitly a "serious" metal band And as someone who really like mosh pit, it's just perfect, really a lot of fun, isane wall of deaht, circle pit and pogo, all the best mosh i have done was at hellfest ( you probably have seen dagoba wall of death in hellfest 2014 and 2019, if not, check it ) the problem with Hellfest is, it's became too big too much super bands (metallica, foo fighters, iron maiden ), attract a lot of people who only come for them : in results, a lot of people can't afford it anymore, because it's old out in an hours and it's really expensive, the fest become overcrowded, specially at the end of the day ( when the super bands play ) you then wait too much to have food, drinks, water, go to the bathroom, merch, or just having a decent spot to watch concert. this part was still manageable for me this years as I know the fest very well and where and when go to all i've said before without waiting, but for the avergae new festival-goer, this part must be a pain in the ass Specially since the last fews years with a lot of "tourist" who are just here because it' became trendy, the way some people dress and behave, you know they aren't metalhead and it's kinda kill the moods, i don't really know how to explain it Also, it it went from 3 to 4 day since the last years and for me, it's too much, I was too tired the last day and dind't enjoy as much as before. also, maybe because of the inflation but prices for foods and drinks become higher each years, this years, it cost me around 120€ only for the foods and I was restraining my self I still really enjoy it a lot this years, and it's cray how big it became since it was a fest with 400 people at first It don't really matter if you are a metal head or not, if you never went to the hellfest, you should ! it's really an incredible experience, but now, as a regular metal show/fest enjoyer, I will go for smaller fest now
@@themetalheadsway Hellfest is a bit responsible for that, some groupe shouldn't have been invited : Machine Gun Kelly or Electric callboy really killed the mood last years for example

How was it? It sure looks great from the outside but how's the actual experience?
My 8 times in hellfest and sadly it become more like pop festival and this is the last time for me.
