I’m very tempted… as 70 approaches & I’ve now finally a good handle on a couple of years of significant hair loss due to illness, via diet & in my opinion now excellent supplementation. The regrowth is slower and while healthy, the style of long & straight hair can really use some good layering. I’m also curious, my once wavy hair before the fall out began became straighter.
Thank you very much for your work and for these tutorials. As I educate myself further maybe that is addressed, if it stays straighter that’s ok, if layers bring back some of the wave…OK too. I’m just not sure yet I have the confidence to do it myself. No matter our age, a good cut really makes a difference! ✌️✨

Salon guy hi! Can I make a request! As you mentioned the different layers, can you make a video where you show the different results of round square triangle layers please? Ideally on the same head divided into 3 areas so it’s easier to see the difference. Thank you! Please do it!!!!!

Why do you pull the hair out/forward to cut it by the front, rather than pulling it up? I know from experience on myself that it is proper, but I don't quite understand why it works that way. It is because the front of the head is essentially another corner?
Speaking of which, it can also be a bit hard to tell on myself how wide the top should be, and where top should start to become the roundness of the corners. I cut a punky quiff on myself, and it usually takes me a few rounds of touching up before I get it looking right, it's a huge pain!

I’ve been focused on consumers for years. Stylists are buying my products. I do however have over 3000 tutorials on here and loads of them are for professionals.

@@TheSalonGuy I always appreciate these types of videos! I started cutting my own hair they have been instrumental in learning foundational techniques. Cutting my own hair has allowed me to better understand what is possible to achieve with my hair and what techniques I want done, making it much easier to communicate with my barber when I have it done professionally, I don't work in the industry but I don't see that as a problem at all keep up the good work, and thank you so much!

Clients like myself are tired of going to a salon, asking for a haircut and coming out displeased and having to retouch it when we go home. Don’t ask me why, but the majority of hair stylists can’t cut beyond what they are taught at school. It’s very hard to get the haircut you want and ppl are fed up. I give you that the hand of a stylist will always give you a more neat cut, but the wrong cut! So I mainly cut my own hair. I do go to a salon on rare occasions. So really, it’s not this guy’s fault, if stylists did their job properly and better and were honest if they didn’t know how to cut a specific cut, we wouldn’t be here to have this conversation.
I complained about hairdressers not being able to give you what you asked for under other videos and each time those comments received hundreds and hundreds of likes, and it shows that this is a common issue worldwide. It’s very difficult to find the right person. Not to mention that there are cheaper salons nowadays and in there they don’t give a crap, they just want you in and out so quickly that they don’t spend one minute listening to what you’re asking.
One thing that makes me laugh is when UA-camrs say show this video to your hair stylist so they can cut it this way. Yes, AS IF that was possible! They wouldn’t want to sit and watch a video and they would think you’re trying to teach them their job. So that’s no use. I would love to be able to go to a salon and get my haircut, I really would…but I’m tired of spending lots of money and be stressed with product up selling and then go home and not like what I see in the mirror
