The animation was great,, the first place I saw Aeon was in Final Fantasy Sonic X all those years ago so I'm assuming that's where he originated from but I could be wrong. Regardless, I knew the poor guy didn't have a chance from the start.

You (canonically) don't have any other Transformations (it was written on a Wiki that you are unable to utilize the powers of the Chaos Emeralds) beyond your Base Form.
I mean, maybe they could give Aeon his own not-super form? Not being able to use the emeralds doesnt mean he cant use other things, the World Rings for example might work
Also him having a cannon arm makes me think he could benefit from some kind of cybernetic upgrade
