John Wycliffe's life shows us how effectual our work will be when we die to self and commit our will to the will of God. Loving God far morw than we love our very own life. May the fire that burned in our dear reformers heart, burn a similar and even more greater flame in us today. May we choose to obey God rather than man. Happy Sabbath👏
Which Sabbath are you talking about...Jewish? Stop this Ellen White nonsense. Wycliffe was not a heretic like that mentally sick, moronic, devil inspired, hallucinating Ellen. Read Galatians and Colossians and learn. Read the first church council letter to Gentile believers in Acts 15. Shut up.
Amen! May God continue to inspire and bless you and your team. I thank God for these inspiring and well researched presentations. I look forward to them each week
@valeriechepngetich9269 Not against Saturday worship, O prefer to worship on the Lord's day. Keeping the Sabbath was for Israel. Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. Jesus rose on Sunday, appeared a week later on Sunday, ascended to heaven on Sunday, and sent the Holy Spirit on a Sunday. God is not mad at you for worshipping on the Jewish Sabbath, and He's not mad at me for worshipping on the Lord's Day. Jesus fulfilled the Sabbath law, but you are free to keep it if you want.
The Church had every right to act against John Wycliffe. His unapproved Bible translations and controversial teachings posed serious threats. The Church was concerned that these could lead to misinterpretations and abuses, which is exactly what happened after the Reformation. Wycliffe's actions indirectly opened the door to a multitude of conflicting beliefs and denominations, proving the Church's fears were valid. The confusion among Christians after his time showed how crucial it is to have a unified authority to interpret Scripture correctly, something the Church was established by Christ to do. Criticizing the Church for this overlooks the real concern for protecting the faithful. The Church wasn't just trying to hold power; it was trying to prevent theological chaos. Wycliffe, despite any good intentions, ended up causing a lot of division by setting a precedent for challenging Church authority. When you attack the Church's actions, you're ignoring the responsibility it has to keep the teachings of Christianity clear and unified. The Church's response wasn't just about maintaining order; it was about preventing the kind of confusion and error that eventually happened. They were right to take a stand. But of course, it's always easier to point fingers and pass judgment when you're just skimming the surface. A lot of people love to criticize without understanding the deeper issues at play, almost like it's a hobby to ignore history and context. It’s a lot more comfortable to throw stones when you’re not burdened with the knowledge of the real reasons behind those actions, isn’t it?

You forgot to mention how many years after his death, his bones were dogged and burned.
He did say it 🙂
Wycliffe worshipped on Sunday.
Yes, he lived by the light given to him. He had not received the truth of the Sabbath. Pleasr read the Great Controversy.
@@valeriechepngetich9269 I have 45 years ago. It was a good book.
