What really surprised me about Varlamore is how much NPC shops are actually useful: stonemason, spear shop, farm shops,... Every time I needed an item I checked the wiki and Varlamore always had an NPC available for the item I was looking for. Just like you guys covered it's such a solid region all around
This league was a big improvement on creating good ideas, but I think they dropped the ball often on making compelling choices. Look at how many relic tiers have a relic just BTFO’d. How did they think Sages Greaves were a competitive option to FF or DD? Or that pocket kingdom made sense as a T7 relic? I feel the same about Kandarin. The echo drop was the cherry on the meme cake.
Melee was so fun, and kopesh so strong, I really had nothing to kill if I had ever got a scythe.. since the scythe is not strong vs corps. ZWT, so only thing might have been tekton? that was it. Had no reason to get a mega rare, felt really good. HOT take: they should do more echo weaponry in future league, and just make them stronger then mega rares. Leave raid farming for the main game. For cutting corners, yeah the same issue with trickster last league. The boots just don't give quite enough xp, people HAD to do laps in lumby to even get 99, forget getting 25m with those. It needed to give double xp on laps with the double count,(like double chins gives 2x xp).
I agree it should be more XP for Corner Cutter, but really that wasn't a problem for me. I did the lap tasks, and then never bothered with agility again really. I got like 94-99 passively while just doing ToB and other bosses.
I do want to say that CoX specifically needs it's purples rebalanced cause man it feels bad to get so many prayer scrolls when you need other from your purples. I have run almost 50 CMs and legit half of my rewards are the dang prayer scrolls.
@Gotenhanku I truly believe we will see this type of QoL change coming to L6. They listen to us and after the massive possible changes to multi-purples this league, I think now CoX is due for a rebalance as you described. Not to mention, a 1/35 or whatever the rate is for the megarare just pales in comparison to the 1/19 from HMT or even the 1/24 from ToA
For underwater agility I was literally getting up to 6m/h agility with flippers if I were to do every single one (which scales to be like 15m/h thieving, which is only a few hours difference as gem stalls going for 50m). But practically speaking, I used all that time to bank stand with bankers note, and even though I was only going for about 1/3 of the chests, I was averaging 3 to 3.5m/h agility while still getting my bankstanding done for 2/3 of the raw time. I really needed the bankstanding time since I didn't go for the production prodigy relic and I have no regrets.
I definitely sacrificed my enjoyment for Dragon’s Cup, because I’d never done it before and wanted to try it at least once. But never again. It’s frustrating that we’re forced to create and purchase multiple accounts just to test different strategies. A better solution would be to let us keep our highest-scoring run and then let us reset our leagues at anytime. I have no interest in creating separate emails and accounts just to play different builds, but I really wish I could have chosen ANYTHING other than mage.
So happy and feels so validating hearing you guys talk about the problems with magic. It truly felt so weird and bad. Really makes me want to get a second account bonded up and play range.
The mage masteries were a big disappointment to me. They looked good in theory but they didn't interact with each other well, unlike range. I thought that the t4 healing from a max damage roll would always proc with the guaranteed t6 max damage roll but it didn't. Also t6 only doing the execute based off your max damage without the t1 applied to the calculation really sucked. The execute from t6 also requiring you to pass the accuracy roll also doesn't feel good, should have been 100% to hit imo
Total recall shines brightest in Wilderness, Asgarnia, and Freminek. I didn't go Asgarnia this year, I went WMF and besides Runecrafting I have loved the relic. Doing Corp beast without it is such a slog. Resetting special attack energy at Corp, Barrows, and inside the boss chambers for the wildy bosses is so nice.
@@iseeyounoobs On the flip side, Banker's Noters can simply use the pool in their house when doing Corp and Barrows. Alternatively desert ammy 4 Elidinis statue
Boys great video had me watching every second. My biggest takeaway this leagues was the natures reprisal. You guys talked about it a little bit, but for me it really allowed me to do content in the game I've never been able to touch. It's a great learner weapon and I had a blast using it. Mixed with some of the other echo gear, and it was no joke either. Happy new years!
For my range build, the progression and weapon variety felt very good. I went ZAF, which allowed me to get knifes (through dragon) crossbows (including ACB and ZCB and DHCB) the venator bow, scorching bow, and tbow, and every single one of them had utility. Knives were great throughout for dps, especially hitting the tier where they were 1t and getting dragon knives for their spec. Crossbows were amazing for their bolt specs once they hit the tier where they were 2t, and even the ammunition was diverse, where I needed to choose between amethyst for early content, dragonstone for most things and onyx for creatures immune to dragonfire or where heals are ideal, like all the Tzhaar PvM. And the scorching bow was amazing for Duke/Sire/Tormenteds, and the Venator great for the superior slayer grinds/defence training. Even chins had niche uses like defence training and CAs/speeding up tasks.
Very much disagree with Scritic's opinion on "needing to hit 50m" in order to hit dragon and the overall sentiment on the task list. I do agree that maxing gives a significant chunk of points, but you do not need to hit 25m or 50m on a lot of skills to get the points needed for dragon. I comfortably hit dragon with just doing pvm (VMF melee) and maxing. Did not need to hit 25m on any skilling grinds like firemaking, herblore, hunter, agility, etc. Chasing dragon can be exhausting for sure, especially if you are rushing it. However, this was my first time going for it and I think it felt very achievable this league. Normally I burn out by the time I got rune rank, but this league the overall experience was great all the way to dragon rank. Just my 2 cents.
My overall verdict is good, but had a shorter shelf life for me than last year. The points were definitely harder to come by this year. If you were going for dragon, you had to grind more points and had a lower point total to do it in compared to last year. They did a good job with not making clear winners with each relic choice (barring the teleportation tier) but they sure did make some clear losers - corner cutter, equilibrium, lumberjack. The relics also felt underwhelming compared to last year (double dipping into making dragon cup even harder). For example, only getting to pick one gathering skill made the other gathering skills a slog. Splitting banker's note and total recall felt like a huge QoL loss. So many bosses are instanced so picking total recall felt like a waste, making grinds like GWD more tedious - kill the boss, eat up, restore stats, pot up, run to the altar and teleport out with it vs click something in my inventory to take me outside the door. And if you went total recall, good luck with Runecrafting. Removing the XP rewards from minigames also stunk. Pest Control was a ghost town after 2 weeks, making getting void a grind for all the wrong reasons. Soul Wars was fun to me and an easy way to get free points with 50m xp in all of your combat stats, now you just get your Pure Essence and move on. And lastly, going dry really really sucks in a temporary game mode. I did 50 hard mode tobs and never did get a voucher. Spending more or less 20 hours to not get a quintessential item really saps your motivation, so I quit at Adamant cup this year. Marble bag drop rates for leagues would solve this problem like they sort of did for the echo boss items.
I don't agree w/ dry protection, but I would like for there to be duplicate item protection. we've got bosses like that (araxxor) and I think it's a good idea for leagues. sure, make me kill them until it drops, but don't give me 4 tops and no bottoms.
26:40 This is exactly the moment I started my Mage Alt and rushed Tob for a Shadow. SO MANY TEAMS begging for someone to freeze for them, my Magic relic let me solo freeze Maiden and solo Nylos with ease. I was always able to form a team exactly how I wanted it and had an absolute blast.
I was really disapointed with the task list as someone who mostly likes skilling and minigames, and only really dips into PvM as a change of pace. Why so many 150 or 300 kc tasks at bosses but you can't give any Skilling activity more than 50 completions? Why are all skilling points locked behind 25,35,50 million xp? You can reach 200m in all combats before you complete every Boss task. But you can easily complete every skilling grind task and won't even be max total level yet. Can tell it's a Mod Arcane orchestrated list. Arcane is the PvM GOAT his content is unmatched in that area but uh... could've used a pass from someone more inclined elsewhere.
last recall makes pvm and pvp very satisfying. no food or prayer pots and can do whatever faster. Bankers note speeds up gathering skills and allows for early grind oppertunities such as infernal/fire cape. I personal do not regret total recall at all.
@RentaEric I had this idea in my head that perhaps the really experienced PvMers would choose Recall this league. Lo and behold, every single elite pvmer who I follow has picked BN (for not just their 1st build, but alt builds too), so I am convinced that BN is the superior choice. I believe that Jmods will continue to try and develop a relic to compete against BN, and it will be extremely hard to do so
@AMarkosov Ultimately that's because elite pvmers who's entire objective is to rush pvm content have no value from Total Recall. For a ton of players who can clear content comfortably but aren't trying to do inferno day 1 I think it's fine
The problem I have with Mory is that the echos use is locked behind needing to grind Barrows. No other echos needed you to grind a mini game in order to use it. Add in the horrid drop rate for Barrows and it made for a terrible time.
So for example I had gotten the gloves of the damned but I needed to grind out over a hundred barrows just to use the echo, when it’s not even that strong.
I think part of my problem with the raid regions and even others is along the lines of what y'all were saying up to around 15 mins. I wanted to use the league to try new content. That said, i lose tons of point opportunity because im simply not good enough to do the mechanical tasks. CAs at colo and tob and even the other raids are a massive amount of points. I understand them being tasks but it's deflating that it's very difficult to reach dragon rank AND do new stuff for fun.
Not mentioning the Spec refill with total recall is criminal. The biggest advantage total recall had was with spec master and the deleting of bosses/ instantly starting them again.
Gotta disagree about tob/hmt, mager not needed at all even in hmt. you can sol slam the nylos and even if you miss some you still just clear maiden easily. i may have gotten lucky by finding a regular group of interested players in the leagues discord but it never felt like randoms, they were always vested in leagues and i did everything from 2-5 group size
I think that total recall really shined with a melee spec build for bossing, especially with the khopesh for slayer as well. Even for skilling it was nice with forestry just easily banking all the logs instead of dropping them all.
I did underwater agility in batches. Dodgy alone could get you 2.2m/hr by ignoring any clams that were out in the ship area (except the occasional one right next to you) and only getting clams in the middle. This also means you should be multiskilling, which is either banker's note or broad arrows. It also absolutely pooped out fossils, which meant free kudos and xp lamps, plus prayer exp from calcified fossils. And if you had asgarnia, it jumped to 6.6m/hr because you didn't need to skip out on any clams.
What sucks with mory is if you don't like a. raids b. sepulcher c. nightmare or d. questing then you were gonna have a bad time. I took it on my main last year and I hate those first three things so it just ruined my leagues experience compared to this year where I took the WAF Range build and had such a blast this year. I took mory and the slayer relic on my alt account and I'm trying to get myself ready for raids this weekend but we'll see, the league burn out is starting to hit my cc so that dream my be doneskis lmao
Funnily enough the scorching bow from TDs was actually pretty handy for my ranged build, I didn't get tbow on the road to Dragon so I ended up using it for its 10 tile range and that really helped out with stuff like Fight Caves CAs, Zuk, as well as being a decent option for 50M Defence because of 5t longrange.
I've placed Dragon in every league except Twisted. This is the first league where I did not max, and as a result, I ended up having way more fun. Even getting some skills to 99 when xp rates are 16x feels miserable, so I refused to train anything I didn't feel like doing. This pushed me to complete a lot of non-maxing related tasks, which I enjoyed. Maxing to obtain dragon seemed to always cause a bit of burnout in prior leagues, and I'm happy knowing that going forward, that won't be necessary.
Iconically, this is the first time I actually maxed in leagues. Definitely didn't need to, maxed at around 66k pts, but wanted the max cape for once. It's great being able to skip the crappy skills on the way to dragon.
I picked equilibrium in trailblazer, trailblazer reloaded and raging echoes, and I will pick it again if it shows up no matter what it is up against. All shall be equalized! Long live the king!
Hard disagree on the needing to max/50m skills. I wasnt maxed when I got dragon, I was also top 100 dragon so its not like I was slow. Also underwater agility real sweaty with pufferfish and no flippers I was able to get 4m/h. I think dry protection needs to be considered for megarares if you dont have one. Saw so many people do over 100 cox cm and 100 toa without megas. It just ruined their leagues experience. PS equil is op.
@@H3ADBANG4LIF3 I maxed at 59.2k points. I think like doubleshine pointed out, it is more about which regions you chose. I chose Varlamore/Wilderness/Desert. I literally just have the 250kc task left for Corp and the Wilderness will be completely done. Varlamore I still have almost every task for the Colossuem left, Desert I have TOA/Leviathan and Soceress's garden as the major content left for tasks. I have 50m Herb/Cooking/Construction. 50m in Attack/Strength/Defence/HP/Magic/Prayer 35M in Slayer/Farming/Fishing 25m in Hunter. That is it no where near all of the skills especially since they removed the xp milestone tasks for 25 and 35m for the combat skills.
@@slayer100141 I have no 50m skill tasks besides combats. Wildy is complete. Desert has a few and Mory has quite a few tasks left (esp. at TOB.) Currently at ~57500.
It’s sad what happened to Range 🏹 this year. I played ranged DAZ in L4 and I had a blast with my gear progression, from getting my first rune crossbow using steel knives on steel dragons to upgrading my Masori while finishing full Armadyl and assembling the Zaryte crossbow, everything felt so good.
Totally agree on the Kandarin tasks, I took it second and felt like it took forever unlocking my third region. Also the 87 + 93 slayer req made me not take treasure arbiter so the elites from pickpocketing were few and far between. I do like my heavy ballista though, I'm too lazy to get a tbow so shooting big hits with my dragon javelins while my last stand ticks down is fun. So far my max is 126 but I haven't spent too much time specifically trying it
@d0onut my tbow has maxed over 250 during last stand and shoots 50% more often than your ballista's 3t speed. Please do not be lazy to grind for your tbow. Raiding is a blast and you won't regret that you grinded for your megarare
total recall makes the wildy easy. You can set your recall spawn inside the wildy boss arenas. You dont need any consumables, just spam recall to heal and get spec back. Also, clue compass and total recall makes most every other boss super easy to farm. Compass to shilo bank, recall in front of the instance.
big L on the task list this year, it feels like theres a ton of things that should have been tasks but just werent also the game balance of relics/masteries felt like they just got pissed and deliberately made something the undeniably bis in every choice a player could make.
I wonder if at this point it would make sense to create a whole skill tree. Like Path of Exile has one of the best systems I have encountered. Depending on your "main" style you have a set starting point in the skill tree but theoretically you could path to other combat styles as well. Nowadays we had so many leagues including DMM with different effects on the combat system. Just tune them down and make them an actually skill point. Then every 10 tasks or so you get 1 skill point. Like I said, PoE has one of the best skill tree systems, but make it 1/3 complexity or something. This would open up so many different options for players to try stuff. Also id like to see more hybrid gear added to the game.
There was absolutely no necessity to have a mager for TOB or HMT. Everyone I raided with we didn't bother freezing because it just made the room last longer when we can all just do dps to Madien
1:23:00 I've taken Equilibrium every league. It's my favorite relic, I'd never reach Dragon without it. This league 75% of my mining xp came from equilibrium (pure essence)
1:27:00 Corner Cutter is easily the worst. I picked it thinking there would be many tasks for lap count as in previous leagues only to be massively disappointed (not to mention it not working on Ape Atoll Agility, just criminal)
1:41:00 The problem with Pocket Kingdom is that it loses its value very quickly. Sure, you get lots of resources quickly. Then what? You only need to collect a few times and then never again.
This is the first leagues where I feel like it was almost perfect, I don't really have any complaints about the content or relics. They can change it up and keep that momentum no problem. My problem with leagues has become about reward incentives. I don't like the lack of motivation I feel around the dragon cup, like cool, you get a cup you never really use and a badge for future leagues. It doesn't feel as cool as it should be. I want better rewards, that's what I want Jagex to focus on next. As an example for what they could've done this leagues, echo pet skins and lock those cooler rewards behind dragon tier. That would motivate me a lot more at least
t7 underwater agility is 100% around 3m/hr, the xp scales with level obviously, and it requires knowing what chest/clams are worth going for to make it efficient, could also do 0 time skilling with bankers note like fletching or crafting
I took ranged and think variety of weapons was great For low/mid knives and darts were a great time For mid/late rcb/dcb with ruby bolts was great For late I was constantly switching between Venator Bow, Twisted Bow, Bowfa and Blowpipe for different situations The catch of picking Fremmy being highly needed was a bit rough but the region felt really good this league regardless
Personally I think this league would've been great without the bugs but there were just so many of them. Also I'm a bit tired of Trailblazer's regions. It's the third league we've had them and it'd just be nice to see next league at least having different region borders. And so many tasks were removed, but they removed some decent ones and left a lot of terrible ones for some reason. My main gripe is I needed to wiki so many things about my relics. Just using Overgrown for example, would you know without the wiki that; Overgrown doesn't roll Tangleroot It can't act as a seed box _(it just makes sense that it would)_ It doesn't give hespori seeds It doesn't give tree roots Doesn't collect branches It didnt recognize saplings at the start of the league _(perhaps that was a bug because now it does?)_ You need to manually apply ultracompost whenever planting a new crop It doesn't work with Zammy grapes It doesn't give nightshade I would rank Echo leagues to be just ahead of Shattered Leagues, but behind both Trailblazers. If there were no echo bosses, it'd be tied with Shattered.
@@LimpurtFan6969 By like day 4 Jagex posted 85 different bugs on their website, many of them major problems that players ran into. Then 2 days later they announced 11 other things they'd fix. As someone who picked kourend for nature's reprisal, 4 separate bugs affected that weapon. The melee used ranged accuracy, Ranged used ammo strength, magic didn't apply the mastery correctly, And the CoX crabs thing of getting styles wrong. To be fair, most of them did get fixed within a week or two. But that timeframe for a league is a rather important impression and many of those bugs _should_ have been something to obviously test for.
@@The_Azure_ overgrown could've had so much more qol and functionality. If the vault functioned as a seed box auto collecting pickpocketed seeds that would've been insane afk, and even if you ran out of seeds it should restart once you have more seeds... They literally made a prototype and handed it to us in the form of a basic green box.
My favorite part of this league is that I think you get too powerful too quick. Once all of my regions and relics were unlocked I was pretty much done and that didn’t take long.
I agree with corner cutter being the worst relic. I picked it and I have major regret. I also picked equilibrium, which means I get an additional 200+ exp per xp drop. I just got 99 agility yesterday and I have worn these boots all the time. I don't think I will hit 25m at this rate. Last year with trickster I hit 25m but not 35m. The nerfed exp from it just feels so bad. Looking at the front page people it looks like they had to wear them through 70k points before getting 50m. It took way too long.
I also went corner because I wanted to do wilderness agility course for a lot of early money. Because you have to tag the pillar for rewards, it is actually useless. The lap count is separate from the pillar count. So you don't get double rewards from wildy agility course. It sucks.
I went with a mage build. Gloves of the dambed were huge for auto casting ancients. Barrows was a drag since the last item I needed was an agrims top. However doing hard mode tob as a mage was fantastic
The worst part of KMF for magic is that those regions have hardly any npc's with elemental weaknesses. Sure you can one shot barrows, but what else are you actually grinding with elemental spells?
i picked varlamore but it feels awful because im mobile only and i dont think i can get the hang of colosseum. i dont understand it and guides are not good enough to do it melee only. so it just feels gross.
Hate to say this because I love leagues but this one felt kinda rushed out the door for the sake of having a leagues. I like the direction of masteries but shit tbh even the rewards and overall theme of the leagues feel generic af. And some of these clue steps have been "oversights" for several leagues now apparently, like wtf are they doing. What they did to Kandarin was dirty, but trolling and hyping up some fake secret kandarin reveal in the discord is extra trash. Should've fixed the region instead and some of these fixes don't seem that hard. Devils element could've had all runes and act as antifire shield
RNG walls in leagues really suck. I chose magic and started off having fun but I wanted to get a shadow before doing inferno to finish combat masteries at 5/0/5 before hunting cups and pets. I'm 45 HMT without a shadow now. I've spent the last two weeks doing nothing but tob. Doing the same content for several weeks in leagues kind of sucks tbh, it's such a cold shower after the rush of varied content I had up until this point. And another notch against Kandarin, the warped sceptre doesn't benefit from magic's combat mastery T1. And of course the devil's element. I wish it went in the cape slot. It could be a nice BIS for magic and make dragon hunting amazing, but instead it's a temporary niche upgrade that comes at 93 slayer and becomes obsolete in literally every mage build because the shadow is so much stronger than anything else. I took TR over BN and don't regret it, I've learned so much more and progressed more quickly than I would've with BN. Most people doing tob with BN don't know the mechanics beyond click boss and eat food, but I can honestly say I learned how to do ToB this league. Anyway, I enjoyed the retrospective, good to hear about relics and regions I didn't pick myself.
Tier 7 relics killed the leagues for me. All of them were useless by the time I reached t7, so just the 16x exp passive was all I cared about. They all needed to be like t5 at the latest.
Overall I do think this league has been more fun than the others. With that said, I do not like how they increased the points for dragon. I am at 44k and starting to doubt I will get to 60k because my remaining tasks are thoroughly unenjoyable.
The t8 mage mastery should have been "you never splash" I don't understand the execute effect, it was exploitable leagues 4 because of projectile speed, and it feels almost useless this league, more trouble than it's worth
Equilibrium coper. You say its easier to get to dragon rank but you have yet to dragon rank yourself doubeshine. Even JCW didn't need it to first maxed/200mil all. Definitely agree that mory is a weak region since it has to rely on other people. Edit: Err bankers note + prod master here. My regions were Fremm > Asg > Des (same as leagues 4 actually). Combat masteries 4/6/0. I really enjoyed PM since I've personally never picked this relic in any previous leagues. Slay relic for my regions is a miss and I didn't feel strongly about the 33% nerfed clue pts from last leagues. So I just defaulted to PM.
You can just flat out ignore the crabs and dps maiden down. Ideally you have at least one freezer for blood balls but with a split of melee and range, you should be fine.
@austin3681 I wouldn't say you can flat out ignore all crabs like the other comment mentions, as maiden ramps up way too fast. If your team isn't tank swapping, it'll get messy. However, if you're running a 5-man with 5-Last Standers/5-megarares, then yes you can fully ignore crabs in HMT. Alternatively, having 1 person with grimoire + something to autocast ice barrage who understands the N-All freeze role, you will be completely fine to run HMT without a mager. You just need 1 person to step up and take on that role.
Yeah my main account I went ranged and desert reason. I burnt out right after t8 it got so boring quick. My alt I’m doing wilderness melee and having a blast khopesh is such a fun weapon and you can get t3-4 ranged and it’s just as good
Interesting. Varlamore was the most disappointing region for me - and it's still my favorite main game area. I never realized how mid the moons gear is until now. Mory and Desert were my favorites this year. Fremm was okay, but pretty much only about the echo gear.
Tob is hands down the best raid. Fast paced, easy to find teams, and absolutely craps out purples. Quickest raid to get a megarare. If most people didn't get 50kc, it's only because they got their uniques way faster than 50kc. I reached 50kc long after I got my scythe and only because I wanted to send more raids with the boys.
Mostly cause the majority got all the items they wanted from ToB already and thus don't feel the need to run it more like me. I got all the uniques including pet and dust and 2 megas from HMT in 19 runs. Yes I got spooned but I am sure the majority of other people also got what they wanted from ToB and left. Unless you were one that just love ToB to deat hand run it constnatly or you were a point capper there was no need to do any more runs.
@@overgrowsThis league was my first time doing TOB and so far I find it way too frustrating. Can't get a mager and everytime I duo we whipe at the last boss. If players could respawn aftee the shield phase it would make it passable, but right now it is too punishing for me.
What really surprised me about Varlamore is how much NPC shops are actually useful: stonemason, spear shop, farm shops,... Every time I needed an item I checked the wiki and Varlamore always had an NPC available for the item I was looking for. Just like you guys covered it's such a solid region all around
Yup, I thought the exact same thing. Even the weapon and armor shops were quite useful.
@yomashu don't forget the random spawns as well! It's quite OP and I would often wonder if a Jmod had a Varla-locked UIM and designed it that way 😅
always gotta cater to the masses

CMs should reduce the chance for prayer scroll drops similar to HMT with avernics (this should be in maingame)
I have 50 toas just got my tbow and I still don’t have a masori mask

So happy and feels so validating hearing you guys talk about the problems with magic. It truly felt so weird and bad. Really makes me want to get a second account bonded up and play range.
go for it! XD
I kinda get what you mean but the gloves themselves are already really good.
@@Stoff_Rocks_Packs they're just barrow gloves, I mean their good but not worth taking mory good
In the barrows hell currently. Being forced to an hour long quest is also a downside for Mory imo
I think they’re pretty good. I don’t think I’d be through the Colosseum and Echo Sol without them.
Hard agree, I don't know why people felt a freezer was needed. From our experience freezing made the room last longer.
Ya I went to 99 with Dodgy and no flippers, just sitting in the middle and skilling with bankers note. Wasn't bad.
Go to world 400 for Tob randoms, there's still tons of people there
Funnily enough the scorching bow from TDs was actually pretty handy for my ranged build, I didn't get tbow on the road to Dragon so I ended up using it for its 10 tile range and that really helped out with stuff like Fight Caves CAs, Zuk, as well as being a decent option for 50M Defence because of 5t longrange.
@@Tarrierpizza14 I maxed at like 50k points (maybe even earlier tbf). It's a struggle to get dragon this year without going 50m in quite a few skills.
Just shows that even in leagues, balancing does matter to the experience
Compass to shilo bank, recall in front of the instance.
big L on the task list this year, it feels like theres a ton of things that should have been tasks but just werent
also the game balance of relics/masteries felt like they just got pissed and deliberately made something the undeniably bis in every choice a player could make.
What kind of tasks should have been added?
I was burned out on leagues but this is giving me the feeling to go back on a new account with different choices
Curious: Did Spec Relic kind of negate the need for total recall?
@@taylordixon5871 In many instances yes. Though total recall does make specs 100% uptime in areas where it's normally not possible without.
There was absolutely no necessity to have a mager for TOB or HMT. Everyone I raided with we didn't bother freezing because it just made the room last longer when we can all just do dps to Madien
Totally agree. Morytania is easily the most tedious region.
33:19 You wouldn't feel strong if you picked magic!
As someone who pick Mory but has never done Theatre of Blood before, whats a good way to get started? Def wana try it out before Leagues ends
I took ranged and think variety of weapons was great
For low/mid knives and darts were a great time
For mid/late rcb/dcb with ruby bolts was great
For late I was constantly switching between Venator Bow, Twisted Bow, Bowfa and Blowpipe for different situations
The catch of picking Fremmy being highly needed was a bit rough but the region felt really good this league regardless
Doubleshine + Scritic hypeeee
Personally I think this league would've been great without the bugs but there were just so many of them. Also I'm a bit tired of Trailblazer's regions. It's the third league we've had them and it'd just be nice to see next league at least having different region borders. And so many tasks were removed, but they removed some decent ones and left a lot of terrible ones for some reason.
My main gripe is I needed to wiki so many things about my relics. Just using Overgrown for example, would you know without the wiki that;
Overgrown doesn't roll Tangleroot
It can't act as a seed box _(it just makes sense that it would)_
It doesn't give hespori seeds
It doesn't give tree roots
Doesn't collect branches
It didnt recognize saplings at the start of the league _(perhaps that was a bug because now it does?)_
You need to manually apply ultracompost whenever planting a new crop
It doesn't work with Zammy grapes
It doesn't give nightshade
I would rank Echo leagues to be just ahead of Shattered Leagues, but behind both Trailblazers. If there were no echo bosses, it'd be tied with Shattered.
there werent that many bugs and the big ones got patched in like the first week lol. the 'too many bugs' thing is way blown out of proportion 😂
They literally made a prototype and handed it to us in the form of a basic green box.
doing cg to get enhanced just to find out a shitty zombie axe that you can get from the start is better was just painge
It sucks.
@@iseeyounoobs You do get double rewards, just not double lap count. All of the drops are doubled.
Sure you can one shot barrows, but what else are you actually grinding with elemental spells?
watched this on scritics end just here to appease the algorithm gods
i picked varlamore but it feels awful because im mobile only and i dont think i can get the hang of colosseum. i dont understand it and guides are not good enough to do it melee only. so it just feels gross.
Love these videos with you two :)
They should have given kandarin in the starting regions without an echo boss.
Equilibrium felt great. Facts be damned :D
Overall I do think this league has been more fun than the others. With that said, I do not like how they increased the points for dragon. I am at 44k and starting to doubt I will get to 60k because my remaining tasks are thoroughly unenjoyable.
The t8 mage mastery should have been "you never splash"
I don't understand the execute effect, it was exploitable leagues 4 because of projectile speed, and it feels almost useless this league, more trouble than it's worth
60 kc at HMT and dry on tbow is literally so demotivating and ruins the whole experience.
So I just defaulted to PM.
yeah seems like unironic cope for equil lol the idea is cool but that tiny ass bit of xp is not game changing in the slightest
I spent a full day at blood moon and got 2 pieces 😅
Having to wait to find a freezer for TOB made me stop doing that raid lol.
I've done about 100 HM this league and I'd guess like 10 of them had a freezer. Definitely not required
Easiest echo boss for melee mastery !😊😊😊😊
Venerator was also useful
Yeah my main account I went ranged and desert reason. I burnt out right after t8 it got so boring quick. My alt I’m doing wilderness melee and having a blast khopesh is such a fun weapon and you can get t3-4 ranged and it’s just as good
Interesting. Varlamore was the most disappointing region for me - and it's still my favorite main game area. I never realized how mid the moons gear is until now. Mory and Desert were my favorites this year. Fremm was okay, but pretty much only about the echo gear.
The idea that echos benefit multi hitting weapons more is just pure misinformation
Based on the wiki stats (so only those players that have the plugin), less than 5% of Morytania pickers have done 50 TOB raids. The raid SUCKS.
u trippin tob is fun af this leagues
Nice.
Zeah #1 if you don't care for points/dragon rank. Mory #1 if you do.
had zeah no mori, got dragon chilling in wildy/tyr :D I only have 1 cox unique.. so *shrug*
If I wanted to listen to a couple casuals make excuses for why they're underachieving, I'd talk to my friends lol
