I saw this product of Parsifal in Bayreuth and it was very good. It was very warm in the auditorium but the sound cannot be equated anywhere in the world.
I really enjoyed most of this production, but Act III seems as though it was directed by someone else entirely. Most disappointingly, the powerful men's chorus imploring Amfortas to perform the rite "for the last time", is entirely excised inexplicably. That particular chorus bookends the transfiguration scene from Act I, and where did Kundry go? Am I missing something? I was looking forward to the third act. To me, Kundry's death in the Met Opera's production with Katerina Dalayam and Jonas Kauffman, remains the best and most touching. I love the playful banter between the young pages here, in Act I, it gives the whole thing some realism.
Do you mean the chorus at 3:41:00? I'm not aware of any cuts in this staging. I believe Kundry is shown passing away peacefully during the video transition to the final scene. The implication being, I suppose, that she is already at peace through receiving forgiveness and love during the Good Friday scene and does not require the empty ritual of the Grail that the knights cling to.
Ryan McKinny sang the same role here in Buenos Aires in Marcelo Lombardero´s superb production (also available in full video in UA-cam, certainly worth watching!!!) orchestra and chorus of the Colón Opera House magnificently conducted by Alejo Pérez ( ua-cam.com/video/2tP8X-g6GVM/v-deo.html )
This production was beautiful and extraordinary If you want to see traditional stagings of Wagner, go to whichever opera house in USA - where people leave in the first intermission, few understand anything of the text and they prefer the kind of productions that you are asking for
I was thinking the same thing, until I heard him live. His voice is way more powerful than it seems, and yet very soft, tender, fits absolutely perfectly for Parsifal. And he was a good Sigmnund as well!
Wow. I have loved this music for a long time, but this staging gives me a way to relate to the story and all of the characters that makes sense to me.
Breathtaking. The sharing of this is fabulous, as the recording sound quality shows the depth and volume of the orchestra in this majestic hall.
I was there some weeks ago. No words to describe the feeeling.

Wtf is this staging. Looks like a school play
Still much better than the previous version in 2012.
Enough with the ugly and pathetic productions! Is it even possible to see a traditional staging of a Wagner drama today? I think not...
Amen to that

HORRIBLE THE VOICE OF Klaus Florian Vogt

Pankratova is impressive!
