This album came out about a month and a half before I had tickets to see Lou in Denver at the Paramount theater. My wife and I played it constantly. When we went to the concert, Lou played the album in its entirety. The friend that came with us asked how we knew all the lyric's as we sang along! Such a great concert. Lou was in a really good mood and spoke often between songs, making jokes and basically endearing himself with the audience. One of the greatest concerts I've ever been to.

"Give me your hungry, your tired your poor I'll piss on 'em that's what the Statue of Bigotry says Your poor huddled masses, let's club 'em to death and get it over with and just dump 'em on the boulevard." Lou Reed wrote those lyrics in 1989. Might as well have been written for 2017.
Deadbeat Don's new national anthem. Not to worry; "the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." Trumpty Dumpty's gonna have a big fall, and sooner than his Chumps expect.
Ironic part being ol Lou made a lot of money not being a part of the poor huddled masses. So there's really no relevance between this song and Lou's life. Here's a guy who probably only knew three chords and can't sing for shit but made a name for himself in Rock and Roll. Pretty amazing. That said I like this song and video.

This is NOT the "Official Music Video". This is a basic live performance clip.
What is the problem...it's about the song and lyrics NOT whether it's THE official music video.
@@jmae1953 The problem is NOT telling the truth. This is not the Official Music Video we saw on 89. The real fans expected the real official promo video, this is not. Stop tagging things wrongly. The real Sire Records Official Video was a work of Art, a black and white astonishing promo video, this is NOT
@@javijavi9907 Hey! I haven't made any remarks about this video so don't tell me about tagging or not tagging. Pay attention to the facts before you send out a remark! You might want to pay attention to the name like the one "James Ward" (above) who DID make the remark you're referencing!
It's a shame the are leaders would like to dump us on the dirty boulevard
That mullet is a mess!
Lou Reed IS/WAS Greg brady
Was Lou Reed the father of Ari Boulogne? For me it looks so. Nico - the mother. Is Alain Delon right denying? Ari looked liked a mixture of Lou and Nico. Same eyes, same hair. Mothers mouth.
That fancy drumset is so completely unnecessary for this simple song.
Bass drum, snare, hi-hat, one cymbal, you're good.
This summer I learned he was dead by my father and I think it's like the bigger tragedy I've ever lived
