So what if you do a side gig as just that...a side gig? And have a full-time job? I already filed my taxes, but the 1099-NEC doesn't appear to have shown up when I submitted the taxes? Also, I tracked my mileage but that seems not to have mattered, as I qualified for the $12K standard deduction. I can't seem to find any advice out there when a side gig complements your W2 form...Any tips or advice from ppl. In similar situations would be greatly appreciated
I want to file tax at the end of the year like I do my FT job. I put away 25% off of my DD earnings every week for Uncle Sam at end of the yr. I dont want to confuse my self with this quarterly deal.
Let's say you start uber this year, like at the beginning of March and you were employed before 2021. Do you have to pay quarterly taxes this year or the next?
From what their saying the third stimulus check won't get to us until mid March. And that won't last me that long due to how high Portland is to live. I'm not a financial expert I just started learning how to budget money. That has been hard for me to keep money due to paying bills
I'm sorry to hear that; this has been a tough period for a lot of people. I hope you get your stimulus check soon but if there are any basic/quick questions I can answer for you, please let me know!
Eric Garza - The threshold is $600. If you made more than six hundred dollars you need to report you income. This is mentioned at around 5:46 in the video.
I got a 1099nec through the mail. Do I fill that 1099nec form up and send it somewhere? Or I just do the taxes through turbo tax while using the 1099nec as a reference to help finish the TurboTax filing?

What about Uber with a 1099K or not getting a 1099K and have to use Yearly Earnings because you made less than $20,000?
THANKS

Have y’all gotten your 1099 for postmates yet? I haven’t and can’t find anything about it

Thank you! Maybe I missed it
Do you have report if your year earnings were very little? I read somewhere if you make less than 15 k you don’t have to report it.

Hi Eric, like Jeff mentioned these companies will send out a 1099-NEC if you earn $600 or more in the past year
Great video!
Glad to help! More to come
Mike did you move back to Pittsburgh?
Back in the Burgh! Check out the update: ua-cam.com/video/wra3cDrhDbU/v-deo.html
Being an Independent Contractor isn't easy u have to be on top of your business. Door Dash did do me wrong but I'm over that.
What happened bro?
Yeah, what happened. I am a doordasher
Mike were you in the military?
Hi Daniel, no I was not
What do we do if our 1099 has the wrong income reported?
You'll need to reach out to the company directly and let them know. Because that means they'll have reported the wrong income to the IRS as well.
@@stephaniemcelheny4766 just call driver support?
@@KrisHall7997 That would be my recommendation. You could also e-mail their driver support and get this in writing as well.

Hi Phoenix, we address this in the video. In the "What To Do" section of the video around the 7:40 mark.
@@stephaniemcelheny4766 please reply to my question lol.
@@phoenixrexx6571 She did. They covered that question in the time stamp
@@vladstr100 i wrote it here. So its common sense and logical to reply here.
@@phoenixrexx6571 And she logically responded by helpfully providing you the time stamp where your question was answered.
I know one thing you have to do. Hope that you set aside money for all the taxes you are going to owe.
That's a huge must to avoid a nasty surprise come tax time. I've personally set aside money for taxes on all my income streams
