Attempting To Run "Windows RT 10" On The ASUS VivoTab RT - Part 1?

- This is a video I wasn't sure would ever happen, but there is a way that someone managed to defeat secure boot and the BitLocker drive encryption found on devices like the original Surface RT, as well as the Surface 2, and of which would allow these devices to run Windows 10 on ARM (well, sort of, it's an early beta more known in the installed form as "Windows RT 10"). Does this same technique work with another first-generation RT device? Well.... sort of. This video is my drawn-out and quite long install procedure. Feedback would be essential to working out drivers with this device, should the project go further.

Is there any way to get back to windows 8 rt? With windows 10 I am without wifi and without audio. It does not let me enter the system symbol from recovery mode

@@kaleb32b if this could help: I had ad USB->ehternet adapter, connected and recognized by the system....than I register windows (as shown in the instruction), than perform a windows upadate and the audio, video and the other things BUT Wifi had been updated and on restart worked fine....so now, the only thing that I'm trying to work is the wifi but the PC, connected wired works like a charm...perhaps this could help...

I backuped my asusvivotab TF600T win81rt and upgrade in win10rt success, special wifi and sound, thanks you very much

Solved the BSOD problem too, seemingly it was bcuz of a curropt pagefile
Set the pagefile to a fixed size in windows settings and youre good to go
That´s why i´m happy to have a x86 tablet.
It can run Windows 8, 10, Linux and Android.
If i had enough eMMC space, probably all together in dualboot.
There´s actually a 128GB version avaiable which happens to have a m.2 SSD instead of 64GB eMMC but unfortunately mine doesn´t have the m.2 slot on the board.
Anyways android + windows is dual booting fine and a lot of fun.

THanks a lot for this video. since you arrive to unlock it, can we install ubuntu touch or something like that? I just recovered one of this devices and it is a pitty that you don't have updated browsers (and on my case I can't even acess windows store)
the bluescreen is because windows expired and internal/beta builds have issues after the os goes past that date and for windows 10 that blue screen happens upon trying to boot windows and for windows 8 and 7 it crashes every either 1 hour or 2 hours

Thanks for the tutorial. After arguing with Asus I was hoping to be able to update mine at least to windows RT 8.1 because after restoring it it does not download the updates nor makes me access the store. Is possible to upgrade it to RT 8.1 (windows update gives error)? Upgrading to 8.1 could I use it to browse? With 8 IE opens only a few pages.

Thank you for the video. Re WiFi driver... I'm not sure but probably you can try to backup Win 8 RT drivers (including WIFI driver) using DISM and then use this backup to install the WiFi driver on Win 10 RT.
I'm wondering if someone else has done this already, but ever since this video I haven't actually looked.
@@jwoolery99 since your surface is different your driver might be different from surface and asus drivers.
when i try to delete efi due to issue 2 it wont delete BCD because its in use...
i got the drivers from the old windows and now wifi works but the BSOD comes up after a reboot

On 31:50 i can't find the cmd and on msinfo32 says also secure boot ON

After longhorn jailbreak I have tried to install Yahallo jailbreak and it worked

But still can't find the CMD on recovery,I think i can install with no issue win 10 from the usb

Still but there are emulators on XDA
They are close to getting linux on these devices
You can install Linux on these
You can try a software called Snappy Driver to install drivers for that device or any device you have without searching online for a pacific driver. Snappy Driver is 100% free.
I have that, but the problem is I can’t get x86 programs to run
in the folder of snappy driver there should be an icon for 64 bit version's and an icon for 32 bit version's. if it can't run either one then that's weird. i got a youtube channel called Sbeaver if you want to check it out.
The device he's using in the video has an ARM processor with no x86 emulation. It may be possible to run the application if there was an x86 emulator, but Windows RT doesn't have an emulator for that.

I hate this tablet with all my soul. I paid it on credit and paid TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS AND I WOULD LIKE TO LEAD A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THIS DEFECTIVE TABLET WHO ALWAYS PUT ME THROUGH HELL. I STILL HAVE IT BECAUSE i paid alot but mostly because I want to get even, LAWFULLY.

@@Tamay. I bought it when it came out and it was a light table with a keyboard and wanted it for my business. Eventually, it turned into a PUTRID tablet.
