      Cheers Robert. Yes it's looking pretty stunning the cb. Just needs a fuel tap and should be good to go again.
      Can't wait to get that on the road.

      Yes it's very smooth Derek. I did the spark plugs yesterday. My last task is to somehow make it a manual choke using some sort of pulling device. Hard to explain but it likes choke to start when cold just for a few seconds

      Cant you just get a second hand replacement part from a breakers ,might be easier 👍

      It's a right pain to put it in and it's a problem from factory anyway. Because of these wax chokes these bikes idle at 3k revs or over for 3 to 6 minutes. People never liked this because if they had an aftermarket exhaust on it was very loud in the mornings.
      So I'm trying to kill 2 birds with 1 stone I think.
      I should know today if it's all good.

    you are missing an idle adjuster cable. it opens and closes the wax unit to lean/rich the fuel on cold start. on these f4i's you can also add a second idle adjuster that actuates of the intake butterfly's. i can send you pics if you want. youv got her running nice tho

    • @motorcyclerescuer

      So the wax unit isn't working well anymore so I've disengaged it and set the idle using the butterfly idle adjustment.
      However the bike does seem to want a little choke when cold so my plan is to put a Manuel cable in so that someone can pull it in the morning while starting. It does work, I just need to find something strong enough not to snap.
      I'm curious about what your saying though, could you send me a link please?
      Thanks

      How did you adjust that screw. My bike has the same issue and it’s the 4fi too

    Great video, the bank angle sensor is in the front fairing, wont prime without that. Sounds much better now!

    • @motorcyclerescuer
      @motorcyclerescuer  3 місяці тому +1

      The sensor wasn't an issue. It just needed a good clear up and oil circulated. Ran very well in the end.
      Thanks for watching

      @@motorcyclerescuer without the front fairing wiring plugged in it won’t prime, I agree the sensor (when plugged in) was not a problem. Cbr600 needs the signal from the bank angle sensor to be able to run. Great work. New subscriber here :)

    enjoying the series of this rescue. seen better than this being sold for scrap parts in Leeds. being a london lad exiled in Yorkshire. where i do missionary work. i am starting to get the bug again and have a garage and been scouring Marketplace for a project Charlie,

      Oh wow a project. Annoyingly because of the current financial crisis people think their scrap metal is worth a fortune. I'm finding project prices rediculas at the moment.
      I used to buy a Chinese bike for £300, give it a service and send it on its way for £600.
      But their are gems out there. Keep your eyes peeled and I'm sure you will find something

    Hi sorry about this .was really pleased my BOATAIN 50CC REBEL passed it's MOT . The next day I took my scooter out for a short test ride now I was fully taxed and insured . the scooter began to stall at junctions etc , Now what is Happening is puzzling
    I bought new variant kit and clutch pully plus a new air box . after replacing the part's with the new part's fitted and the case cover put back on / I connected the battery pressed the electric start button and the fuse blew Again and Again / I removed the case cover covering the Variant and drive pully / and tried to start my scooter this time the fuse did not blow .I removed the kickstart case cover and removed the pinion and pressed the start button on my scooter and it did not blow the fuse and the starter motor worked . Question what is causing my battery fuse to blow all the time . is it because I have to fit a gasket /OR is it the pinon not engaging properly hence too much pressure on the starter motor hence the battery fuse blowing . I have checked the wiring that all ok . I have to learn and seek advice from you because my nearest bike shop won't work o n Chinese bike's and the bike shop that do will not travel out so for to collect my scooter . So I am stumped .I have been on this scooter for two day's solid and still getting the same result's Even put back the old part's I replaced with new resulting the same blown fuse's . any advice please as I want to fix this and not give up .

      @motorcyclerescuer  Рік тому +1

      Hi, no worries at all.
      Honestly it's almost impossible for the starter and Bendix to blow the fuse. you would have to be holding the button for a long time and the wires heat up.
      I think you have a bad wire somewhere else and it seems like it linked to the motor but it's not.
      I would look for your earths and make sure they are earthed properly.
      Also make sure your battery is connected properly and that it's not touching the frame or an earth at any point.
      You may have to look through your wiring loom and look for burnt out wires

      @@motorcyclerescuer Thank you for your advice I will go through and check but it seems strange the fuse not blowing when the casing is taken off . but I will still check things .I will let you know if I find the fault cheers
