It is really hard to be patient and kind after being hurt, betrayed and devastated. But it is only by being patient and kind that love can live on. Sacrificing for the one you love itself is a sign of love and selflessness. I have been patient with my husband and even shown kindness even if he had hurt me and my children so much. I didn't want him to give us a reason to leave and so all we've shown him is love, forgiveness (even if he did't ask) and respect even if we were betrayed. I stand firm with my marriage vow "to have and hold, for better or worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part" which was witnessed by the Lord on the day of our marriage, and live my life with what God said "love always protect, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres". Listening to Pastor Peter on how powerful being patient and kind is and how love endures, gives me faith and hope that one day by the grace of God my marriage will be restored.

I came from a failed relationship. It turns out he is all that is described on 1 Corinthians 13, but I took him for granted. Now, I understood what God has been teaching me. This pain that I've been feeling, the betrayal that I felt when he chose another girl instead of me, makes sense now. He was already a right person, but at that time, I was not. Thank you Lord for teaching us what true love means. Everything happens for a reason and I do believe, this pain is a lesson. Pastor Peter shared about his friend who meditated on 1 Corinthians 13 for a year and was divinely transformed - it’s a practical step po, and maybe what we can do is that as we meditate on that chapter, we ask God to reveal to us how He first loved us in our imperfections, insanity, indifference, irreverence. And try pausing at every sentence to really reflect on it, remembering those times when it's undeserved but God had been anyway.
