C'est fou de voir la haine qu'ont les autres envers notre armée, qu'ils n'oublient pas que nous avons l'histoire la plus chargée en guerre, et que les ricains seraient une colonie anglaise sans nous, ne l'oubliez pas les gars sans les français vous n'aurez pas gagné la guerre d'indépendance

Genre on était content de capituler en 40' tu sais, surtout que ce n'est pas l'Armée française qui à perdu en 40', mais les politiques corrompus.
A présent on est dans le top 10 des meilleures armée au Monde, et c'est pas pour rien, même une majorité d'américain respecte notre armée (sauf les deux trois bouseux du fond qui n'ont pas ouvert leur livres d'Histoire) et les russes veulent nous acheter la technologie FELIN.
On a le FELIN, le TIGRE, le Rafale, le FAMAS (vieillit un peu mais qu'il est classe), le HECATE II, le FRF1, le Leclerc, on a le seul porte-avion d'Europe, le Charles de Gaulle, enfin bref, une grande puissance militaire, et si certaines mauvaises langues crachent sur notre drapeau, on verras bien qui rira le dernier :)

I am not saying the GIGN is not a special forces, but they do sorta look like SWAT but, I understand each country has different uniforms and that GIGN is mostly Urban areas I think.

Drifter Wolf GIGN isn't really a special forces because they rarely operate in other country. But it is a inter special force for the security of the France. But they aren't just a cops. (sorry for my approximate english, i'm french)
roughly , RAID= urban , GIPN=national thoses are police, GIGN=national,national overseas and sometimes international (gign have been involved in Afghanistan for exemple) and it is military.
Its fine Tfkt I been learning french so we have a equal fairness xD

Shinryu La Gendarmerie Nationale, fait partie aux cotés de l'Armée de Terre, de la Marine Nationale et l'Armée de l'Air, des 4 Armes de l'Armée française. Seul les grades changent.
La Gendarmerie n'est plus sous le contrôle du Ministère de la Défense, mais sous le Ministère de l'Intérieur, donc tu n'a pas totalement faux, mais elle est tout de même attaché en premier lieu à l'Armée française ;)
A ne pas confondre avec le GIPN, qui lui, est de la police et n'est pour le coup, aucunement militaire.

***** Just an idea...maybe the boom his holding on that stick shoot pellets out as well but that wont do too well if they are trying to retrieve a hostage... how was it in the legion? Is it what people call it 'Gates of Hell'? I really want to join the legion because the lifestyle draws my attention.
***** Its just I always hear the the legions has more strict training then others by some degree. But I understand that any forces you join will always make push you to your limits. How was being the legions during to 1980's?

Dommage étant Français je suis un peu déçu de la vidéo. Je comprend qu il est difficile de trouver des vrais images mais les 3/4 sont des images du film (de merde) "forces spécials" et du film moyen "L’assaut" sinon bonne continuation.
+totokiller normal qu'il n'y a pas de "vrai" images car l'armée française ne donne pas d'image sauf pour les reportages

TwinkeRxTreM It's not considered as an special forces unit but it's EXTREMLY close ( like a mix between SWAT and Navy SEALS), because of its hybrid status ( Gendarme are soldiers with police missions) GIGN do not do missions like assasination, sabotage and do other mission that other special force unit do not do ( presidential protection, ect). They do hostage rescue missions ( GIGN can prepare a unit in 30 min and send it anywhere in the world, there is planes and helicopters of French army dedicated to GIGN), arrest war criminals, every GIGN member is a parachutist, HALO/HAHO parachuting, they have some frogman, etc.
The selection, the training, the tactics, the weapons ( except mortar and rocket launcher) , the vehicles are the same than special forces but the goal is different. GIGN members are trained to injure and arrest, not to kill ( GIGN motto: "Sauver des vies au mépris de la sienne" / "To save lives without regard to one's own").
In France a unit is called " force spéciale " if and only if the unit does " opérations spéciales ". Those units are gathered under the COS ( Commandement des Opérations Spéciales / Special Operation Command). The expression " deuxiéme cercle du COS " ( second COS circle ) is used to design those kind of units like GIGN that share the same training and spirit but are used in a different manner.
GIGN train with a lot of special forces units: Commando Hubert ( French Naval Commando/ French Navy seals), 1 RPIMA ( French SAS) , British SAS, US RANGER, Navy SEALS, even Russian Spetznaz ( i don't remember witch group). When they created Delta Forces, US asked British SAS and French GIGN to come train Delta Forces members.

They kinda sucked when had to kill the Terrorist in Paris. There were like over 1000 special forces and police to kill 1 guy, srsly. And they had so many friendly fire while doing that.
there were hostages there.You can't just send 4 gys killing them,you need more.I'm french and i think there were a bit too much persons BUT i'm not a military man and GIGN and RAID are among the best in the world.MAYBE this was too much but if it allows to save the most people it's worth.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that the GIGN wasn't part of the actual military? More an an anti counter terrorist group. They do have a damn near impeccable record.
They are military but theirs jobs is law inforcement and counter terrorism

Little Swiss Ou pas, les allemands ont du meilleur matos, si on se fait attaquer, c'est l'union France/Allemagne qui gagne, pas la France seul, encore moins avec le budget...
thib251 Les char Leclercs et les Rafales sont largement supérieurs aux Léopards et aux Eurofighters, le FAMAS est bien meilleur que la G36 et l'entrainement français est le meilleur du monde, y'a pas photo les français au Mali perdent 10 gars pour 10 000 ennemis tués, les ricains et les anglais en Irak 5 000 pour 20 000 ennemis tués. L'équipement du fantassin français est largement supérieur à celui allemand, j'ai fais des exercices avc ces deux armées et je peut te dire que l'armée française est largement au dessus des autres en Europe, les seul qui peuvent rivaliser avc des soldats français de base sont les SAS mais eux ne peuvent pas rivaliser avec vos forces spéciales.
Little Swiss Le leclerc est très mauvais, car très cher, et surtout, très capricieux, démarre sous certaine température, pas adapté au milieu désertique, et j'en passe.
thib251 Mais son canon et ça mobilité sont exceptionnelles, c'est le meilleur char dans lequel je sois monté, 10 Leopards ne valent pas 1 Leclerc et je ne suis pas le seul a penser cela.Les premières versions étaient certes basiques (fin époque soviétique) mais ses dernières versions en font pour moi le meilleur char européen, ci ce n'est mondial.
