Ventura Slim - Thanks for the follow up video. I get anxiety watching your buddy’s Wired Freedom bike constantly shutting off and cutting out with no explanation. I can’t imagine being stranded with a 100 pound bike that won’t move……Keep the updates coming. Appreciate you posting your experience with Wired.
Hi@@jfly2249 - You might be right, I don't know. I don't have a dog in this fight. I am not advocating for eCells or Wired (or any e-Bike company). I am a Joe-Lunch-Bucket-Consumer just seeking knowledge and information before making my next purchase.
@@jfly2249 not taking a position on eCells or Wired. Just asking Ventura Slim to keep sharing his experience. Sounds like you have experience with both products which makes you credible in my eyes. Thanks for sharing.
I am so glad I came across this video. I have a new 2024 wired freedom dule battery. Only has about 100 miles on it. Yesterday I went out on it only went about 300 yards on flat paved road motor temp was about 80 and my bike did the same thing. I didn't see any thing out of the norm on display screen. I turned it off and then back on and it came back to power. Rode it for another 2 miles and it didn't do it again. Hope wired figures it out because it scares the heck out of me lol
Wired sent him a new controller, he just got it installed. Hopefully that resolves the issue. We'll have to ride it for a while without it cutting out to know for sure.
Brake cables have nothing to do with, you have check the the cable near the kickstand or the cables in the controller housing. The red wire with the yellow connector in controller housing.
I firmly believe it has something to do with the motor cable connection near the rear wheel. The bike just had new tires installed before the issue started so that cable had to be disconnected. Ensure it's firmly connected and if that doesn't work dab some Deoxit with copper to help with conductivity. I know this because the same thing happened to me. These are not the same motor cables that were on the earlier 24 models - at least not the connectors. Once i added some Deoxit the conductivity improved and it hasn't happened in over 500 miles since.
Looks to me like a thermal shutdown. David Cleveland has a clip out there somewhere warning not to take the Hentach motor above 230F. Has it ever cut out below that temp?
The statement that these motors should only go to 230 is proof that David Cleveland knows squat about e bikes. The varnish used on the Wires is good to 400. The bike will shut off around 360 to protect the motor.
@@jfly2249 I'm just citing what he said. I happen to own a dual star, and if the owner of the company says not to go above 230F, what kind of cooperation would I get by arguing with him when it comes time to warranty the hub motor?
The freedom has the controller on the outside in the wind, maybe putting it in that tiny unventilated metal space gets it too hot, there’s zero ventilation in there.
Brake cables have nothing to do with it, you have check the the cable near the kickstand or the cables in the controller housing. The red wire with the yellow connector in controller housing.
Yes, We just needed to rule that out. Wired told my friend that might be the cause. They are sending a new controller to him, they already responded to him and let him know it'll be shipped out tomorrow.
@jfly2249 oh really I don't know what I'm talking about as the controller sits inside of an aluminum housing that's not cooled very well. What's your reason genious?? Plain and simple, the Cruiser is an afterthought and you bought one so you're trying to justify your purchase, we get it
LOL, I want to! One of these days I'll get that video done. The Wired is faster for sure. I did one a while back called "Wired Cruiser VS. Dual Star, hill climb" The audio is crappy, and I took the bikes out one at a time. I want to have him go with me and show how much faster his his. (his bike cuts out in that video too, it's been doing it intermittently since he got it)
You must really hate ECells bikes, in every video I see with a Wired Freedom or a ECells bike, you bash ECells and praise Wired every chance you get. They're both good bikes IMO, why the hateful comments on ECells?
@@informedcitizen8687 are you talking to me, or JFLY? I love my E-Cells bike, I prefer it over the Wired. That doesn't mean I don't like the Wired, I just like the E-Cells bike better. I am certainly not intending to bash E-Cells. Thank you for watching! No hate here!
Wired has delivered over 5k of these new model bikes and have had just a handful of issues which they address promptly. The issues with your friends bikes are not normal and he should contact Wired for service.
False. I don't think it's been thousands unless the counter on their website is a lie and they don't handle it promptly because they haven't handled mine promptly so I'm guessing that you must work for Wired.
He contacted them and they replied on Saturday, after seeing a short clip of this video on Sunday, they are sending him a new controller today. Great customer service, that all happened in 2 days, on a weekend. We're hopeful that will fix the issue.
@@Freedom_eRider Then your source is lying or Wired's website is lying. Because it shows you exactly how many of each color is available and I wouldn't be surprised if that's 🐂 💩.

I knew it had to be the settings, we both know you're bike is faster than mine. 🎉

Did ever check the connector that it’s tight to the motor near the kickstand. I put a tight wrap on mine because it came loose
Yes, that's not it. It is tight.
@@VSlim45 in the controller housing?

It’s a potted controller. There are no issues with overheating on these bikes. This bike probably has a defective controller which Wired will replace.

bad temp sensor on the controller maybe?
