@@RatchetBuildz it popped up in my feed and I had to watch it, I’ve always wondered if it would work, I knew they had lipos I just wasn’t sure how safe it was to bind them lol
@Scxjunkie So far no issues on my 3rd or 4th charge, but another viewer did point out the importance of balance charging . In the next video, I'll be adding that In. I still won't keep it in the house though.
I'm waiting to collect enough for a 3s next, but I don't vape, so I'm waiting on my friend. But they are trying to quit vaping, so I don't know if I'll get the chance.
This is awesome have you added the balance charging to your's? That was the plan for the next video recently got stock up on some newer vapes and plan to make another video soon is.
I tried this with an Tinywhoop, well it flied for 1 minute until the battery starts to sag, but for anything low amp stuff like transmitters they are great.
Yeah , the life span of this home made battery mot not be that long but i like reduce and reuse thought on it. Mine still working ok so far only a few charges on it but plan on an update video and adding the balance charging to it.
Very creative. I guess you could use the same concept for making batteries for a Radio transmitter. Just add a vape tank and long tube and you could vape and drive your car at the same time. lol I guess you could also make a killer rechargeable flashlight with them as well. I love to see people who are skilled enough to repurpose items. Great job!!! 👍
@@RatchetBuildz I have some old vape batteries. They might be good for an RC radio or small RC car. Good deal. Your saving money and the environment and the truck really performed quite well with your custom battery.
I have done this with tired 18650s before cant use them to vape but i can use them to power a small radio controlled car 3000mah 7.4V 2S1P from 2 efest 3000mah 18650s isnt bad! Repurposing stuff is awesome. I also have some new 3500's laying around somewhere. I have the connectors, heat shrink and the wires. A 3500mah 7.4v pack would only cost me 10 bucks to make. This time, with balancing leads.
As long as you know what you're doing you can go to as many cells as you want. But you need to know what you're doing. I can't exaggerate that enough. Look into understanding electric scooter batteries and you'll understand somewhat
My friend had vapes all over the place and I use to take them apart to recharge the battery and was wanting to do something with them instead of constantly throwing them away . Well, make batteries for my addiction.... I mean hobby . Proof of concept is done next add balance charging to it and then go to 3s .
I'm just using what I can get for free. I don't vape, so this was collected from friends and family that do. But if I ever plan on making a legit decent battery, I'll look into it. Thanks for watching.
Ohh this is the Mad Max way to do it. I like it lol. I have been trying to find a proper charging board for 2S, anyone know of one? I want it mainly to not have to use my old crappy charger and have the proper protection.
vtc6 sony are the only ones you want to use or greater why they can handle 15 amps each cell using vape cells small ones like that well vapers go hard on those cells they heat coils constantly youll get 150 charges most outt a cell 500 is the ideal normal but vaping is so hard so dont use them used cells on anything that flies rc cars fine but use good cells folks
So vapes use LIPO batteries? That doesn't sound right. The Volcano comes with two 800 Mah Lithium Ion batteries, packing tape them stacked together and get a Deans parallel adapter. It now has a 1600 Mah battery in it. It's still limited to Lithium Ion 15 - 20c so it won't be any faster, but It'll run a really long time on that. And it will easy strap into the Volcano battery tray. That's what I did. Good idea however. Too bad the vape batteries are so small.
Yes, your correct I could run them in parallel with the stock batteries. It just fun to make something I can use out of basically trash and reuse them for some fun. No, they never will be good as purpose bought rc battery, but still a fun project if someone already have the stuff todo it . Though I wouldn't recommend anyone doing this. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Great idea
Thank you! 😊
Elf bar lipo is actually cool
I'm glad you liked it. I personally loved how it came out. The next one will be slightly better, hopefully.
Dude how do you balance the cells 😳
Highschool got me ready for this one😂
Yeah i forgot alot from highschool and had to double check myself before posting. Thanks for watching.

@@RatchetBuildz that’s a good idea, would a spectrum Smart Connector work? Take one from a junk battery
I've always liked the idea of reusing these tiny rechargeable batteries somehow. Definitely try to make a bigger pack.

I'd like to make one that sits low in my SCX24 I've been trying to collect in pairs the disposable vapes are really out of hand these days.
@@dumpsterstu4474 it’s possible to do
I'm waiting for a few more vapes and trying the 3s to see what it does next. I am also going to try and add some balance charging to it.
This size would be perfect for a basic 10th scale like a stampede or possibly a bandit.
Could be i plan on using in my 1/16 and get a little more life before they kick the bucket. Thanks for sharing and watching.
Hi, what charger do you use?
@aerotraveldji Right now, I'm shopping for a new charger. The one I had currently has a safety recall on it for catching fire.
I knew i wasn't the only one who thought this

@@RatchetBuildz same here but I personally vape and pick them off the road for a better environment lithium is terrible for the soil and ground water
Problem i see is if batteries become unbalanced then how do you balance them without balance cable.
Something I'm working on next is adding the balance charging. I had the same thought after I posted the video.
Cool idea, i recomend 18650 mod batteries tho ,they are alot better

When Botgrinder did this first but with Fpv drones lol
I'm going to have to go look them up. Be kinda sektechy using it in a drone if you ask me. Thanks for watching.
