- Race Day started off great we fixed our electrical gremlins and hauled the mail first round beating Doug Kalitta. Second round was a different story Mike Salinas lowered the boom and crushed us with a 3.65 at a booming 338 mph. All I could say was Where Did That Come From ? #racing #nitro #car

The time you take to document and share what it's like in a Top Fuel team is very much appreciated. Wishing you and your whole team success at Nationals.
Clay definitely goes the extra 1/4 mile for sure!
No matter what the result is, this team are all winners. The results are starting to speak for themselves. Watching from Australia.
Clay, no one in any racing series give fans the detailed inside look that you allow us fans. I will be a fan for life and I hope to meet you in Indy. Hopefully I will get to watch you win another Big Go! I feel like part of your team thanks to this channel! Let's Go Get This Championship 👍👍
I appreciate that!
@@claymillican25 This video with the details, including the summary at the end back at home, sitting in the SxS, very good, enjoyable, much appreciated, as always.
Since You read my detailed comments with, about electrical diagnosis, suggestions, it seems You may have been addressing them within Your comments. However, had thought it was clear within my comments, with my approach, especially if i or a proper technician with electrical knowledge were there, that this would, could be done, hopefully was done, after the last qualifying run to determine the cause of the voltage drop under load; which alone would not be due to a simple wiring, connection problem as a short, or lacking connection, based upon the limited set of descriptions, details, observed measurements-data via Bruce, Jim O, Jesse, 'racepak'. Thus, would be done, executed during a less pressure situation after the qualifying rounds, prior to 'Race Day' Eliminations.
Seemingly, this process, method of, with electrical diagnosis was not executed then, but somehow the system functioned, operated properly during Round 1 Eliminations with the excellent performance 3.684 sec. ET, 331 MPH TS ! Then as shown the next round ran, performed excellent, until near the end with the opponent, Mike Salinas achieving the most excellent pass 3.654 sec, 338 MPH, surprisingly. [with Your 0.079 - 0.100 advantage RT, along with the excellent pace to 1/3 track 330 ft + the Parts Plus TP Dragster could have still won ! - but some engine failures occurred with extensive damage at the end again]
So, hopefully, during the week, the Team has not only performed all of the necessary repairs from the significant damage during qualification rounds 2-4, elimination round 2, within all of the mechanical, also has managed to diagnose, repair, replace all of the electrical components, wiring , batteries within the system within the time during the days in between without all of the time crunch, "Mad rush", pressures.
Am aware somewhat about, with Dennis from PME within the Team, also at the race track with You all,. Thus had presented Dennis as a proper engineer to assist with the diagnosis, trouble shooting, though am not aware of this specific knowledge within electrical or others within the Team. Perhaps if Dennis is not quite the person to assist, maybe Jim O would consider having an individual available or on-call to assist with any electrical issue trouble shooting, diagnosis, since especially when, if such extensive damage occurs as Q2-4, E2, the damage often included electrical components along with wiring-wires and connections. Thus it is worthwhile to have, within permitted, allowed time, an appropriate electrical check, verification, measurements, troubleshooting as necessary; Within my engineer design, development includes verification, certification, troubleshooting, establishing, writing the necessary procedures for these including repair. Thus am very aware of, with setting proper, correct, precise, exact, explicit detailed process, instructions for basic level technicians, individuals involved in repair.
All The Best, Sincerely.
Am looking forward to see Your posts and successes from within the US Nationals Indianapolis this weekend !
Clay is a nice guy good luck😊
Yes thank you Clay you pr one awesome man that your friends must feel lucky to be your friend.
Putting in the work is paying off!
Way to go Clay and team ! Congratulations on hauling that mail !!!
Damn!!!!
As much as I like to see you talking to Jason at the end of a run it’s a bummer to come up against a Juggernaut run like Mike had.
And those air ventilated oil pans a true heartbreaker
Wow!!!!!! 340 mph absolutely positively needs to happen!
I've been waiting and wondering about that ; Kenny Bernstein went 300 A VERY LONG TIME AGO..... Top Fuel and Funny Car can't seem to go faster than 20 - 35 mph over 300 all this time ??? That 300 was like 20 years ago...... where's the advancement ? Or , is there some sort of governor / insurance / NHRA regulation that PROHIBITS speeds beyond 340 mph ? Kenny didn't have 11000 horsepower when he broke 300 , they should have been well beyond 335 mph over 3 decades later.........
are they are the limits of tire and traction? @@markhabersham4153
Clay ,you and your team are AWESOME to be able to change all the stuff they have to change in an hour seems impossible but your precious team always gets everything done on the car in that tiny amount of time is mind boggling phenomenal!! You truly have the best team out of ALL the driver's no matter what class they're running in. I really appreciate the time and effort you put in to make a video of everything that goes on and it's understandable that you simply can't film every moment and it's okay. You still give us great videos with lot's of information and the videos are always FANTASTIC 💞🤗💞🙏🏻🙏🏻 GOD BLESS YOU CLAY ,MRS.DONNA AND EVERY PERSON ON YOUR PRECIOUS TEAM FROM RICK WARE TO JIMMO AND EVERYONE WHO WORKS ON THE CAR IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA OR OFF CAMERA. I'D LOVE TO HUG EACH ONE OF Y'ALL INCLUDING IGGY AND MILLIE. YOUR VIDEOS CERTAINLY BRIGHTEN MY DAY EVEN THOUGH WHEN YOUR RUN ISN'T AS GOOD AS YOU WANT IT TO BE, YOU STILL MAKE IT INTERESTING AND FUN AND AN ABSOLUTE JOY TO WATCH💞🤗💞👍🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 PRAYERS SENT THAT Y'ALL FIND THE GRIMLIN AND GET IT FIXED PERMANENTLY 💞🤗💞👍LOVE YOU ALL AND MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU AND YOUR PRECIOUS FAMILY AND TEAM/FAMILY 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
One of your biggest attributes is the fact that you are always so positive no matter what and those crew kids are your biggest fans , I love that environment and wish I was a little younger to race or be on a team like yours, good things are ahead for you Clay and you deserve it. Love the channel keep it coming.
Hey Clay. Great job. I heard you tell Jim O they gave you a headache. I have heard you mention headaches a few times before. Can they be considered concussions from these kabooms? Please keep an eye on your health. You are the best!
I'm sure it's possible. Those explosions have a lot of power when they completely blow up.
Holy moly, y'all are gettn it!
Let’s go!!!
Hell Yeah Clay!
So many things having to work in perfect harmony and happening so quickly. Hope you can get this sorted out. I have a good feeling about Indy for the 51 Team.
Ramble on! It's the tough times when teams show their true colors, and yours are waving brightly! Tremendous effort, kudos to you all. Now, on to Indy, and Stomp On That Loud Pedal!!
Clay, it was nice speaking with you on Sunday. See you in Madison IL.
Every time we come back from adversity we learn something good , bad . With what you and your team does is truly special. Over and over you all grow every run the car does. Job well done. Now Indy, best of luck.
really like the behind scene video in the war room, listening to all 3 of you talk about the previous run and the upcoming run, I love that part of the race, keep it coming.
God Speed my brother.
You are "the MAN" almost nobody provides the background details about ANYTHING on utube... except for you !! THANKS
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO TO DROP
YAY!
Clay, I really don't mind your rambling'...It just is more enjoyment for me to watch!! I know y'all will have a good weekend at Indy!! I'm ready to watch y'all kick butt!!
Bit of a rough weekend, but you will get them next time.
WOW Clay, that was a a real head scratcher. i personally know what it's like chasing electrical gremlins. i see your point about having only 1 1/2 hours to get the car ready to go plus chase the gremlins. LOADING THE PARTS CANON... and FIRE!!!!!!!! LOL. As always thanks for taking us along!
Watching that car go down the track time after time after time is a testament to that team!! What an awesome group of people ya'll have assembled!
Thanks clay for all the race info really appreciate your humility in the second round lose. A mark of a true champion.
Watched a handful of your vlogs over the past week. Clay Millican, I have quickly developed great admiration for you as a racing professional, leader and all around wonderful human being. Much love, I am a fan! I believe you are the real deal.
I’m an old truck driver, so I can’t give any advice on the car, but as soon as you have trouble with one of the haulers let me know and I’ll pass along some of my 27 years of wisdom. You and your team are doing an awesome job. Just press through and keep up the great work!!
Man that is a hard one to swallow when you can watch the guy in the other lane run away from you even when you know your on a good run. Rob Flinn let one rip for sure an don't even know if he knew it was going to put a number on the board like that. Love you guys an the best team out there. Thanks for sharing Clay. Be safe guys.
Clay, wanted you to know how much your fans appreciate your videos. I speak from experience, the last 3 or 4 years before I retired after a 40 year career as a Ferrari mechanic I made quite a few videos showing all the cars at the Ferrari shop. I know it distracts you from your work but you seem to do it for the same reason I did, people never get to see behind the scenes of a top fuel team, same goes for the Ferraris, you and I are alike in that regard. Keep up the good work and good luck at the Big Go, Buena Fortuna Brother...
Sorry to see you struggle this past race, but glad to see you win that first round with Doug. Nobody was going to beat Salinas in that second round! You're right Clay, the kids will get things together for Indy. Good luck there, and great job as always. Love your videos! 😊
Great job everyone!! Seems like the other teams swing for the fences when the run your team.
Watching NHRA footage of you guys on the line feels like I’m watching my family out there. This UA-cam channel benefits so many people in so many way Clay. It’s awesome just knowing what your up to even when your not racing.
I've done 150 mph in a street car before, 338 has got to be a super rush!!!
U sure are a lot Funnn Mr.Clay and love the whole team …Good Stuffff …🙏💪😎🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸…
Sorry I wasn’t able to get to BIR but sometimes the Big picture has to take precedent for the moment. Will still be watching from the lake place and sending y’all good vibes during Indy!
Fall will be cooler tracks and your team seems crazy fast on cooler tracks it will interesting for sure .. great teamwork on a tough weekend
Thank Clay for elaborate recap of the race. Even with the best team members and best crew chief, it is so hard to keep Top Fuel race car always happy.
Wish you and the team best of luck at Nationals !. 💪👍
The way you tell the story Clay you take us with, include us as part of it and that's about two steps above awesome,,,
So happy to see you and your team succeed keep up the good work!!!!
Thank you so much!!
I’m done rambling should be on a t-shirt! Keep it going and be safe!
"I'm done rambling, now I'm gonna stomp on that loud pedal."
😂
YOU GUYS ARE BLESSED...MOST AWESOME JOB ON THE PLANET!...AND MOST AWESOME TEAM EVER!!..LOVE YA!!
Such a great guy!! 👍
Thanks for your positive attitude and humbleness 🙏
Watching that was an emotional roller coaster. Even though I knew the plot from NHRA TV, hearing the post-mortem in the lounge and seeing the carnage was enthralling, pity its so expensive for RWR. Looking forward to Indi, hope you all are rested and ready.
We really appreciate the time and effort you put into keeping us up to date with the team and race car. Thanks very much!
I have been watching you for quite a while now Clay. Super impressive in what you do and to share it with us and what a great team of people you have to back you up. Cheers from Adelaide Australia.
I had the pleasure of watching you on that awesome run.
Clay I enjoy your rambling. Sorry you didn't get the win!I know how hard everyone works to just stay in the race ,let alone winning!
appreciate the narrative, its nice to step into your thinking for a bit. The crew definitely earn their pay.
Thanks for the coverage !! Was stuck on the hospital with no channel to view, lol. Had to keep googling news, which wasn't enough, lol! Thanx !
It's not a ramble when you are telling like it is/was. One heck of a team of people to go ahead in spite of problems with the right attitude and a plan to get it done. A lot of people would mope around and waste time feeling sorry for themselves but your team just gets after it.
Good luck in Indy. Looking forward to seeing videos from there. Pass along some congratulations to the team members for their hard work.
Remember to have some fun every day!
jack
The g-forces must be immense under those conditions. Neck snapping, gut adjusting, "OH MY GOOOOOD" proclaiming amounts of g-forces
I love Clay and Jim O hope they win a couple more races this year they deserve it
This parts plus team is on fire. I can say enough about Rick Ware. Rick doesn't play games. Replace the entire car instead of playing with parts. This team WILL WIN this season. Hats off to Jim, Clay, and the team for giving the fans some fire.
At the end of the day, Clay is just like any running stallion. (Or at least sounds like one.)
And thank you for sharing the interview after his record breaker.
I only got started praying for your team a couple months ago. Being a full time intercessor I was led to back your team in my prayer assignments. God obviously cares a great deal about your team rising higher or he would not have led me to your channel & inspired me to use my spiritual resources to help you. Love the fact that I can monitor my work on youtube. So far I don't know enough about your history to know if my efforts are getting traction but he's given me some goals to believe for & when I see the goals achieved I'll know my efforts are actually helping.
Loved the chat about time to diagnose between runs. Having been there with my S/C car, I know how crazy it can be trying to find an issue with only way to test it, is by going down the track.
Rough go there , lots of parts attrition....bummer. I am sure you will get it figured though. As for the diagnosis vs time comment , as a mechanic myself , I couldn't agree more. Thanks Clay , and best of luck at Indy.
Bruce ...."Yeah Nah"............classic aussie speak lol!
I look at it this way. For the ones saying do this do that, change this change that. They aren't on the team therefore, they obviously didn't qualify for the job. These kids know all this stuff but didn't have the time or the reason to do what keyboard mechanics are wagging their fingers at them to do. If they had the talent to work on 12,000 hp engines, they wouldn't have the time to tell your mechanics what to do because they would have been fixing there own wiring and engines. I 100% appreciate how hard they work and how hard you push that machine while showing us the whole time. Thank you RWR and especially you Clay.
Go Team!
Commiseration and heart felt saddness . What is felt in the heart will always be superior to what comes from your mind . Trust your heart always more than your mind . It is better and wishing you all the best and good luck coming to you in this season championship T/F racing . Also admire and watching you from Australia .Thanks
Great explanation on the problem, No time to be checking for possible broken wires and such. time to change it all and send it, The second blow up was a part failure. Great Job Clay and the whole team. Time to win the big Go!! Thanks
Something that Jimbo could possibly add to his download is electrical tracks during the run. That way he could see if power is being routed somewhere that it shouldn’t be as voltage/amperage drops elsewhere
As always thanks for your great behind the scenes videos. I have learned so much from these. It is so cool to see all the work you and your team put into every single round. Kick butt at the Big Go!
First down the track always wins ,way to go team . Your team is my favorite in Top Fuel. Oh , yeah.😎🇺🇸👍
The behind the scenes world of Top Fuel is AWESOME!
Clay & Team, You explained it great, change it all due to Time constraints, Been there hated doing it but no choice, Way to get to #9 lets move up to say 7 at Indy!!!
Clay and the entire team are awesome. You have this kind of commitment, your a winner ❤️
Dude!
Hell yeah brother! Straight hookin and bookin!
Wow thousand feet great job working for the NHRA back in the 90s working at National Trail Raceway we had one of the fastest tracks in America me and Mark worked on that track day and night I think we would have got that number and speed long time ago but they took our event away from us the new owner of our tracks is getting it up to speed I'd really like to see our event come back good job clay and teammates and especially the crew chief love drag racing later bye
I love this channel Clay and I hope you guys win Indy! I will be there cheering you on.
Absolutely, ya'll are winners in my book too!
Let's go @ Indy Parts Plus Team !!!
Top fuel right now is like baseball in the 90's. Everyone's juiced!
You have the most AWESOME Team and you are one helluva Driver! I enjoy this so much. Thank you for sharing this and go whip there ass in Indy!!!!!
We'll listen to you ramble, anytime! 👍👍
Clay and crew, y'all rock! Peace
Wow what incredible speed. Next year here comes 340. Great job. 👍
Britney gonna' be coming for you... :-) Great run...
That's a pretty good description of what happened nice job Clay 👍..
Strip warriors. Long legacy, and you best remember drag racing fans won't walk away. Loyalty, and we feel that pain of a break, especially guys who raced a car. Stay strong, y'all, and positive.
Dude I love your channel. What a good behind the scenes look at just what it takes being the fasted moving thing on earth. Love it! Keep doing it.
Jim O … I think aerodynamics improvements are the key in breaking 340 … get a (and I’m serious with this) aerodynamicist on the staff … you are the maann 😎
The NHRA does not want to see a 340!!! They are doing their utmost slow these diggers down!
Great team work..Great content...Feel part of the team with what you allow us to see..Huge fan from the uk
Clay, your editing skills are getting better all the time. Some of it are really subtle things that make a big difference. Way to go!
Clay, every time I, watch I have to call the other veterans in the family to come play pool! Thanks for that.☺
Hi Clay Family! Hey Clay obvouisly you found the voltage drop. Can you tell us what it was.
Reminds me of back in the 90s when Louis and Terry Boyd were trying out their brand new super comp dragster. It kept noseing over at about a thousand foot. Come to find out it had a flipping June Bug in the tank that was plugging up the fuel line at a thousand foot every run!!
Louis had a very funny comment to one of the fans. The fan asked hey Louis you going to be back next week? Louis said, yes we will, we just have a few bugs to work out!! The acronym lmao was not even invented then but that is exactly what I did!!!!
Clay, keep on Rambling!!!! I like it!
Life Long Fan here in Oklahoma. DannyO.
For everything your team went thru in qualifying and you were low ET of 1st round and 2nd quickest 2nd round is outstanding! Good luck at Indy!
Surprised that the pan pressure sensor would not have shut the engine down during E2, but when an intake valve drops it is always going to be nasty. Well done to the team Clay
An intake valve doesn’t make pan pressure. Valve drops let’s fire in the intake at the wrong time and boom 🔥 Pan pressure switch goes off when pressure gets by the rings/pistons causing pressure in the oil pan at that point the “pan pressure switch shuts you off”. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Come on clay!!!! You got this brother!!
Great job Clay! Nothing to put your head down about. You have great people around you that are also great friends of mine and dad's. - Tyler Palmer
Thanks Clay for all that you for your fans.
Tough weekend parts wise....I'd hate to get the bill for that....but MAN, your group has that thing cookin' now!!
Thank you Clay!!! Great stuff!
When you said that we have to talk to our girl, my first thought was Kaylynn. From the look on Jim Os face he was thinking the same thing, he looked confused😁
A team NHRA can point to as a great ambassador for the sport. Hey Jim O, I pulled your book, Top Fuel For Life, out to help me through a tiny issue I am having. Thanks!
You do it for the fans when it comes down to it, and you guys are winning there. I got to see Lagana set the record at 338+ at my home track in 2017- amazing. #NITRO
Best ambassador for drag racing
I'm looking forward to seeing you at the BIG GO ! Get the car sorted out. I'll be there cheering you on, brother .
Hey Clay taking my 23 years old son to Indy ( his first time) I would love him to see one of your runs from the starting line. He needs to feel that power once in his life!
Thanks Mac
