    Dr. Robert Pecksmith is Assistant Master of the Music at Buckfast Abbey, where he trains the Abbey Choristers and shares in the organ playing for the monastic services. Previously, Robert held appointments at St James' Cathedral in Toronto, Wakefield Cathedral, and the York Oratory, where he was Assistant Director of Music between 2015 and 2020. During these years, Robert gave numerous recitals across Germany, most often in Berlin, Brandenburg, Thuringia and Saxony, one of which was recorded live and released as a CD on the record label JUBAL. Robert trained as an organist at the junior department of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and later as organ scholar at Somerville College, Oxford, where he read history. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists.

    Das ruhige Tempo hilft dem Adagio überzeugend, auch wirklich eins zu sein, ebenso die feinsinnigen Tempoabstufungen - so rauschen die mit den Harmonien wechselnden Emotionen nicht zu schnell vorbei. Durand schreibt 1912 "Quasi Largo" vor.
