This is what Mr. Todd likes to do, he can call this an action figure if he wants but this is a statue with a couple of swivels. There's nothing wrong with a statue with a couple of swivels, in fact there's nothing wrong with an action figure with limited articulation and preposed parts as long as both are announced as such. In my humble opinion as an action figure collector with lots of years of collecting (and thousands of USD spent) under my belt, he should do this kind of figures (I know there's a big market for these) but when he announces a highly articulated action figure it should in fact be highly articulated. When I think about an highly articulated action figure I imagine a figure that can articulate from a very clean "vanilla pose" into every crazy pose a well engineered with lots of range action figure can achieve. It shouldn't have preposed parts or very limited range, it should have all the range the sculpt allows it to have while at the same time be able to achieve a perfect "vanilla pose". This is meant as constructive criticism not as a smear or a diss, I'm a big Todd McFarlane, Image and McFarlane Toys fan. I recognize what Mr. Todd achieved both as a comic book artist and as an action figures creator. He helped to promote and elevate comic books and action figure collecting to the next level. For that, as a comic book/action figure collector and enthusiast, I will be forever grateful.
I dig this piece. As a spawn fanboy this piece scratches the itch until he starts releasing figures from the Spawn line. And I agree on the paint, my first though was I wish it had some more paint to it, maybe a wash like the MK Spawn had
Oh wow, I’m actually surprised seeing it stood up next to the previous gunslinger spawn. He’s smaller than I expected. Not a full on 1/6th scale as I expected. still excited to get mine though.
I have to get it even though I'm a bit disappointed that he not as tall as the old 12 inch spawns we used to get from Mcfarlane Toy's. However it's been years since we the fans were given the chance to purchase such huge articulated statues and damn it i just have to add this small guy with his taller older brothers 😁 Thanks for the great inboxing and sharing all this information about the armored Commando Spawn, I greatly appreciate your time and effort you put to keep us all updated with everything Spawn and Mcfarlane Toy's related. I'm still waiting to hear more about Mcfarlane toys The last Airbender toy line... I hope they rival the old Diamond select toy line on :details ", paint schemes and accessories 🤞
I can't get the gun in the hand for the life of me, and it's scratching away the paint on the hand when I try. EDIT: Tried using a blow dryer on the hand after hearing your tip and that worked!
I'm so glad to see Mcfarlane toys continue that size to bad he doesn't have many articulations for me i hope to see more giant figure like this a Batman from DC multiverse line like devastator or Joker will have my money!
Darn I love this figure, but is it just me, he absolutely will not stand up on his own, unless the cape at one point is touching the ground behind him? He's leant sooooo far back and it's not possible to change that. Is that just me? :)
at the 0:22 mark , why is the cape/cloak and other red colors on your video/photo, the reds are very saturated.. I just got mine in the mail today.. the reds are juts Blah..muted dark maroon-ish colors.. which is shown on the rest of the video .. I thought it was just how the video rendered the reds.. did you enhance the saturation colors of the photo/video ?
@@ToyShiz yep the rest of the video showed the actual colors of the reds.. only the photo at the 0:22 mark that the reds are very saturated (which I like).. I might have to just paint the cloak in the shade of red that I want.. it is basically a statue anyway..
I pre ordered this from Target and it arrived 2 days ago. Love how this figure looks! I totally agree with you about the gun. It has a fortnite wrap feel to it that I'm not a huge fan of.
I would for a medieval spawn in the 12 inch format like this one. So mad I missed out on the Kickstarter.
Why are they getting super lazy with the paint apps. His gear, ammo, straps etc all looks unfinished.

Where did you get the gunslinger spawn? If the mk11 spawn is 12" how tall is the gunslinger one? I cant seem to find it.
The 7 inch commando spawn is out now for 20 bucks but I can get the 12 inch for 30 bucks...decisions 🤔

It's a great looking figure, but it's almost all base plastic colors. There isn't much in the way of actual paint.
