- This project is about how to make mini waterfall island with driftwood & using 25cm diameter ceramic pot. Driftwood is one of the best material to use because of good water absorption and provide good moisture for moss to grow. By adding a miniature temple building on top, it will show the island visual proportion & scale. This project is inspired from bonsai waterfall with ancient diorama of chinese / japanese cliff island with a ancient temple building structure on top & bottom part with beautiful water scene and koi fish swiming around. i'm using the betta fish ( candy species) as perfect mini sizes to replacement "koi fish" because it has a similarity color & shape to "koi fish".

This is a beautiful artwork and watching it come together was lovely. I am, however, not a fan of fish being put in such a tiny container. That seems a bit cruel and can't be good for them.

Peaceful, serene, tranquil, Quiescent, and so calming and restful. You did a wonderful work of art. I am an old man who has been keeping fish since my mother got me started as a small child. That is about 63 years ago. I have never gotten tired of aquarium keeping. In my basement, I have a room where I am slowly but surely building a fish/plant/aquaponics room. I already have plants growing down there under lights with several aquariums. My eventual goal is to interconnect a number of tanks with large tubes to serve as causeways and I want to build a plastic tub stream with very short gradual waterfalls that at least some of the fish will be able to ascend. I want to have terrestrial plants growing all along the stream in planters and soil, as well as terrestrial plants growing as aquaponic plants thus mimicking nature. Of coarse I will also grow both aquatic and semi-aquatic plants as well. I am considering trying to breed hillstream loaches in the streams (actually two branches of the stream) and also the small Mexican crayfish. I may also try breeding North American Darters in it. Your work is very inspiring. My pipe dream is to create a room with features like your waterfall above. It will be my own little basement garden to bring me peace of mind. It will be a place I like to sit and watch my fish.
I'd love to see a video of that creation. Sounds amazing.
@@buddhababeoz If I ever get it finished I will be sure to let you see it. I have several small tanks set up down there with wondering Jew plants growing out of one of them. They are growing like crazy. I have a 40 gallon tank on the second story that I need to break down and move to the basement fish room. It has a spider plant jungle growing out of it and two fig trees. I have to start building my streem as it will have a combined capacity of around 70 gallons. Once it is up and running then I can start breaking down my 40- gallon upstairs as the stream will provide a place to move my aquaponic plants that are growing out of my 40-gallon tank upstairs. It is a jungle hanginging over the top of the tank and hanging down in front. The fish love the cover as it makes them feel secure. It also shades the tank which the anubius plants seem to like. My basement room is really a sort of a dungeon as the house is old and I am building this all on a shoe string budget and building much of it with wood scraps. Still if I ever finish it I think it will be pretty cool. I have made steady progress on my fish room but still have a long way to go. I am retired, work a part time job in a hardware store, keep the yard mowed and it seems I am more busy than I ever was. So I work on the fish room when ever I get the time. Was für Kunstwerke! 🤩 So schön! Moos habe ich schon immer gemocht, weil manche wie Minirasen, andere wieder wie kleine Bäumchen aussehen… Und er ist ein super Wasserspeicher, kann ewig lange ohne auskommen und dann re- hydriert werden. Eine tolle Pflanze.
Und damit so tolle Brunnen oder Dioramen zu machen, ist genial. Wenn ich dass so sehe, ich glaube, daran werde ich mich auch versuchen.

@@catra195 I will probably use the wood as a "background" for a terrarium so it won't be ecposed to the water. It's very brittle & I don't think it would hold up well.
