I remember trying to get the DICE white thermal camo and having a hard time. Then i join this server and it has this one dude doing the easter egg, it was a long one, with the hidden buttons across Dragon Valley. He had nearly done it all when i came in and started chatting about it, and when i mentioned i was having trouble he promptly said “I got you, you can have this one”… That was quite special to me. I’ve played all the battlefields, imho we have the best community, and it’s powered by people like that dude. And people like you Stod! Cheers!
I only got the dice camo 1 year ago when I decided to do it, I had a guy help me in the end of the Easter egg. With 700+ the only toxic people I found was when me and my friend would mostly play chainlink and carry the team to the moon, one of those times I was using the MG4 with thermal sight holding an entire flank in lumphini gardens and the enemy team tried to ban me for cheating. Those were the golden times 😭.
I find it hilarious that they could have hit a fucking home run doing the least amount of work. We wanted new maps and guns and vehicles added to BF4. That was literally it. Instead they spent who knows how much developing a pile of shit that has terrible player count and hurt the franchise's image. That's an expensive way to go backwards.

I'm sure other games have done it as well but the best example of the "'lazy'-but-it's-literally-all-we-have-to-do-to-crush" I can ever think of is AoE2. 13 civs at launch, fucking 42 now! Upgrade the graphics, add a bunch of new maps, tech, units, buildings, play-styles, casting tools, the list goes on.. and it's just humming along usually between 13000 and 20000 concurrent players. I wish Redbull would host BF4 events with the "pros"(YTers) like AoE2. But EA killed the dream. Microsoft has been genuinely good to the Age franchise. Maybe Embark can buy the corpse of Dice and the Battlefield IP for cheap if there's no big buyers for EA lol
how would they hit a homerun? people already bought bf4. if they add content they wont get much profit. if they release a new title most of the same people who bought the prev. one would buy it. if its shit. people still bought it and they could go back playing the prev one they liked. and wait for another release wherr they would again profit.
We all hoped that BF2042 was going to be a 'reboot' of BF4. If DICE had followed the recipe from BF4 and made the game look a little nicer, BF2042 would have been amazing. Hope you're resting up well man!
BF4 release was terrible, but they brought it back into possibly the best shooter in the past 10 years with tons of content to keep the gameplay from getting stale. Truly a masterpiece and still playing to this day. To add more even all the gameodes they added, i know most died out a couple of months after dlc but you could still find a few servers running them, good old gunmaster, carrier assult i believe it was called squad deathmatch what i really enjoyed.
It's the difference between the DICE that was and the group of folks who bears that name now. When DICE said they would fix the mess they made, they meant it. They did it. They took honest to god the worst release in series history up until BF5 and 2042 happened, and made it into a game the community considers the best in the series, period. A game we still view as the best over a decade later. DICE now - whoever that is - I don't think any of us holds a shred of hope in their heart that they could pull something like that. We didn't then I suppose, so who knows? Maybe we'll have another miracle. But I doubt it. Not out of malice, just for the sake of my head and wallet.
I played on ps3/ps4 with that buy the ps3 disc and you can it play on ps4 thing they had going on, on release, and both versions took like 10 minutes into a game to finally load all the textures, and not look like clay. I still cant really being myself to play other shooters because of how PHENOMENAL bf4 STILL is, 10 years later. Sure bf3 has Operation Metro, Seines Crossing, Operation Firestorm, Gulf of Oman, Caspian Border and such, but for 14.99, so does battlefield 4 (excluding seines crossing.) BF4 is still a go to for me and my friends. It’s fun, has a great sandbox, and by now the hardware requirements are relatively low so it runs like a dream on even our budget systems. A true masterpiece.
this video took me back man. I miss those times too. That feeling of loading up the bf4 beta when it first came out, I don't think I'll ever forget that moment. Even the DLCs of this game got me so mad hyped.
I think BF3 might be the best of them all, if you add BF4's suppression system. Because that was the only thing holding BF3 back. And even then, it was one of the most popular BF's out there. I just can't get over the fact how good the maps in BF3 were. I don't think there was one bad map. All the DLC maps were really good as well. I'm not much of a vehicle guy, so I didn't play Armored Kill that much. But when I wanted a change of pace for the vehicle gameplay, those maps were amazing as well. And don't get me started on the close quarters DLC. Might be one of the best. Aftermath a close second.
I never grew to love BF4 nearly as much as BF3. All the maps are on another level and Aftermath is probably my favourite collection of maps ever. I also preferred the vehicles game play in BF3.
You know . That chill camaraderie is what has drawn me to Hell Let Loose so much. Even when I first started playing I asked questions and I’d say 90% of the time much higher levels were supportive and patient. Now that I’m that higher level I do the same thing. Stodeh, i agree with you 100% man you got me into bf4 all the way back in 2016 and i have never stopped playing, i remember the good old days when you where in a heli and getting the longest sniper head shot in history, you are the GOAT and never stop making bf4 content!!!!
Absolutely love this more ad lib style of video btw. Don't get me wrong, your well scripted, thought out aproach videos are absolutely mega and what I subscribed for. But there's defintely room for this vibe that feels more like an extension of the streams
You didn’t mention some of the amazing Easter eggs this game had like the phantom bow challenge. And some cool features like being able to have a full screen minimap on your second screen. You could even play as commander on the shitter using a tablet! Truly an amazing game, probably my favourite of all time.
Battlefield 4 is my favorite FPS of all time too. I think a lot of people felt that way. A lot of the friends I made still have battlefield videos as their showcase video on Xbox all these years later
Man do I miss those ps4 lan parties grinding locker. Also when the game releases it felt so refreshing and creative. The crazy kills, the parachute rpg's taking down apaches, actually being able to C4 tanks properly. Good days
I agree with you Stodeh. I just actually restarted playing bf4 on pc yesterday. It was fun and I really enjoyed it. I was playing bf2042 and doing the weekly missions. I had to ask why grind for a skin. Why can't we get guns in return. Wish they would listen to their fans when developing games. Remaster 4, give us cross platinum to play with our console friends. Hope you are okay buddy.
I have never and will never understand this obsession with skins, character or weapon.........the clue is in the name (fps), why would anyone playing a fps care a jot about how they look to their opponents?
I was playing 2042 the other day and the lack of gadgets to counter vehicles is lacking. Especially for air vehicles. There is really not much you can do as a foot soldier against someone who is just decent in a aircraft.
Well, the problem is that half the players are on Angel and an M5-Recoilless, neither of which are particularly good at taking care of aircraft (unless you can reliably hit your M5 shots). If I'm having trouble with aircraft, I switch to Rao and the stinger and just blow them out of the air. Frankly I think Rao is actually underutilized at the moment; the slight adjustments to his kit have been very good, in my experience.
@@spinningsquare1325 Two things; 1. That's factually and demonstrably wrong. 2. This post was made three weeks ago, before the most recent adjustment to vehicle counts.
Stod, thanks for this video. Take the time you need. I like watching your stream more than any other. When you and the lads are together, it’s just the most fun and entertaining.
I always wanted this game since the times I played on a friend's PS3, and after all these years I bought it some days ago while the Steam sales were up. It's hard to play, but I love the game. I hope it doesn't die and the community keeps it alive like Battlefield 2.
Battlefield 4 is such a legend. We were really spoiled back then. So many guns, so much content, it was just peak gaming. I remember when all my favorite youtubers made bf4 videos. I also remember getting together with all my high school friends to watch the bf1 reveal trailer and that shit was so epic. Bf4 and Bf1 were really the last great battlefield games.
It was just the perfect balance of futuristic, present, past, graphics that can be played smoothly on most hardware, versatility in terms of guns, vehicles, modes, maps and just the feeling of playing with friends and it was actually like you could really take a point together while having fun also, bf4 and bf3 are goated bf3´s campaign was so cool aswell
I miss the time BF4 time. I remember when you were streaming BF4 back in the day. It was just so perfect. I loved every second. Your headset 🤣 the green screen, First shot headshot, your incredible sniping skill, headshot streakes, the Deag(le 44), the tea drinking (probably still a thing 😆), Generally your streams were awesome. The long range sniping, your cat (damn forgot the name), especially long range sniping or generally playing with your friend which I forgot the name of. I can’t remember his name damn but anyways it was just legendary. So cool. All the funny compilations on YT.. trolling.. For me it will always be the best game and the best watching of a game if that makes sense. I still like the content you create. Keep it up 👍🏼 regards from Germany
Bf4 is still my favorite multi-player game, everything just feels as good as it can and while the campaign wasn't anything to rave about it was still a decent place to get a feel for the games mechanics.
Thanks for making this BF4 vid Stodeh! I've been playing it again these last couple of weeks, and it really is such a perfect game. So much fun and variety - I'm glad it's still going strong. 💙
Thousands of hours on playstation between ps3 and ps4, thousands of hours on pc, and currently working on another thousand on the xbox gamepass. I have been nonstop playing this fucking game since its release. It's just way too good.
Hey Stod, I think BF4 existed at a great time. The level of realism had finally gotten really great, and for the first time you could watch UA-cam videos of these guys playing the game and giving pointers on how to get better. I remember watching this guy Stodeh (I didn't know how to pronounce his name) but his sniping on BF4 was just unbelievable. As you reminded us, the BF4 launch was a disaster. But Dice then went through that whole community feedback process and really improved the game. I suppose there's still some hope that Dice might do the same for 2042... but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Thanks for the BF4 memories and all the entertainment you've been providing us over the years.
It's very refreshing to hear you just ramble on about your thoughts and passion for BF4. Scripts work well in certain scenarios but this commentary brings a different vibe. I like it!
When i heard the news of the portal system I thought dice gave the impression that all previous bf titles where coming to portal guns, maps, vehicles, characters the whole 9 yards but they fell severely short. even if they just added locker and maybe a few maps from the dlcs they would bring back a lot of veterans of the franchise
One of the things for me is destruction. You couldn't just camp a building because a tank shell would just rip your cover away. Those skirmishes were experiences I'll never forget.
DICE is a shell of what it was when BF4 was being worked on. From the writers to the environment artists to the net code engineers (the team that fixed it of course) and game leadership..they’ve all gone. And it truly shows. For us to get a BF4 2.0 would require that DICE hire a similar world class team that was willing to work closely with all of us, the fans.
its not even only the huge amounts of maps and guns that make this game so good, the movement is perfect for a shooter, i played this yesterday for the first time in like 3 years and between these 3 years i was a tarkov main, and the movement literally felt like tarkov movement before it got completely ruined. might as well keep playing this game now we just gotta accept that no shooter will ever come close to this
I also didn't mind the server browser. This was my first battlefield game, so I started by playing hard-core domination, gave me a great feel and warm up to the gun physics and overall game. My fav battlefield by far.
At the ripe age of 33, and having played FPS games online since Deus Ex, I've found generally when I go back to games, the community is always much better. It's always kids with the latest games or people who haven't grown up who get into the toxicity of games. CSS was generally an exception as there were mature servers and pubs, but often enough on private servers it's moderated well.
BC2 was my all time favorite. I remember getting 2x gpus in crossfire just to run it with 3 monitors. Needed both gpus just to run BF3. Hoping BC3 will some day come out and also not suck.
Love the Video Stodeh i still play BF4 and i love it. You can come back too this game every time and have an absolute fun time. I am one of the guys who don't like too playing against Vehicle, so i most likely play on Infantry only servers. But even with Vehicle BF4 is way more Fun then 2042. I love your Content and wish you will get well soon.
More content and choices in a game are crucial. What gets old fastest for me is the animations and sounds. That’s why I love a game with a good variety of weapons
As a very late player to this game here is my view on it- I didnt get very much time on it because my biggest problem was the vehicles. I think I would get killed by vehicles over 70% of my deaths. My friend said that if you get leveled up a bit more then you can get some rocket launcher or rpg or something that could wreck the tanks and stuff, but this leads on to my main second complaint which is how little variety there is at the start. It is cool that they have so many weapons, but it feels like you have to level up and do so many challenges to get a lot of weapons. I just think that more variety when you first start would be better
I was there for day 1 of BF4, and I stayed for the long run. The difference in how the game performed at the start, to how it performs now is nothing short of a miracle. The single biggest change that fixed the game imo was the Community involvement when they introduced the CTE (Community Test Environment). Well that and adding higher tick servers.
IFrom time to time i try to play BF4 again but there are so many servers faking that they are populated. Then i go back to BF1 which imo was also really great and is always a nice to just hop in and enjoy. And you are right the community in BF4 was mostly like in the old days, having a good competition and not too toxic.
My favorite thing about the character models (in BF3, BF4 and BF1) was that they had enough detail to be unique but at the same time look distinguishable (even from a distance) based on what classes they were to not mix them up. BF2042 completely missed that mark and somehow with the unique specialist characters, made them look so much more like clones than the previous games did.
Couldn't have said it any better. Thank you for making this. Infantry only is huge for me, but I feel like a lot of the vehicles guys don't want to hear that
What I love about BF4 now is that it runs so damn well on my shitty laptop while still looking this good and immersive. At least 60fps constantly throughout, even when there's tons of players in the game.
DMRs were my issue in BF4, not cuz off availability for classes but for attachments. We only got up to a 4x magnification and thats a shame. In BF3 all classes had specific weapons that could range from 6x to 12x magnification, being: ARs, Carbines, Shotguns and some support class weapons. Im kinda happy i see that style coming back to 2042, especially being able to switch sights on the fly. idk maybe it was one of the charms i liked in BF3 that I don’t see in BF4 is guess. I still play BF4 to this day.
The biggest thing for me with BF4 is the fact it had the best hardcore mode. It made so any weapon could be viable, and that for me always gave me something different to try every match.
As we all had high hopes on release of 2042. The second I didn't get my Marksmen Bonus for an insanely long shot, I was done playing it and went back to BF1.
Favorite part about BField - is gunshots sounds like actual gunshots. Unlike other shooter games (exept mb tarkov) where guns sound like popcorn making machine
Battlefield 4 did so well in the reward system, man, the day I unlocked the FY-JS I felt like I’d actually done something, I loved that rifle, I don’t remember the hate that weapon got tbh, I thought everyone loved it?
Dice nowadays are thinking to built battlefield from the ground up. They are forgetting the fact that they don't need to do that indeed. Because they already had everything. They had achieved that perfection already with Bf 3,4,1 . Just need to combine these games . Thats it.
I loved the end game recap/rewards screen from BFBC2 and also BF1… I wish they would make a mish mash of those 2 where u r seeing headshots n K:D, best weapon etc… just felt like it had some meat on its bones but hey that’s just how things go sometimes
Yes, having choices is so important. For me the biggest disappointment with the guns of 2042 was the lack of handguns, pistols are my favorite kind of gun and BF4 had so many options. From the jack of trades p226 to the full auto Glock to the powerhouses in the 44 mag, unica, desert eagle, and so on. I loved the pistols in bf4 and i wish they brought them back to 2042
For portal Dice should have the community rank all the battlefield weapons from all games. They should start porting them in order based on popularity until every last weapon is accounted for. Do the same with maps. Include all the Bad Company and Star Wars battlefront games as well.
Thank you for that vid Stod. I needed this sincere, nostalgic trip. I couldn't agree more and I hope... well this should be seen by all the devs at DICE.
I still very much play this game even with other games out there I still come back to this game. Just nothing close to this game and have sunk so many hours into this game. Love it and will continue to play this game until something similar comes out but I don’t think they will be.
Bf4 will always hold a special place for me. Lost my old account after not being able to play in 4 or 5 years which sucked but I've finally got internet and starting over kinda sucks but still love it. I really honestly wish they would just remake bf4 at this point. Don't get me wrong this new update for 2042 is a step in the right direction but at the same time I go back to bf4 even tho there's only a handful of good servers and have to go through a long routine to just get into a lobby.
Love the calm and collected tone of your voice, such a refreshing change of pace over the usual "HELLO GUYS WELCOME TO ... HOW ARE YOU PLEASE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE" that others do ;) Cheers!
Another part of what made BF4 great was the vehicle gameplay. I know its not for everyone but as a guy who liked tanking around time to time it was great.
I never stopped playing BF4. I was playing on PS4, and the community did drop a lot. So I just downloaded it on PC and will start my journey from lvl 1 again. I can't wait! Hopefully by the time I hit level 100 again, BF4 2 will be out. Surely DICE have lost enough money and will listen now? Who knows.
@Stodeh, I always appreciate and enjoying watching your videos. Even when BF is in such a bad place, there is still things to discuss about the Battlefields. I hope your time away from streaming is as peaceful and cozy as it can be. Enjoy, my dude. (Stodeh is the only reason I ever click on Twitch).🤙🏼✌🏼
Hell Ya , I was on the front line of the Phantom Project !! and all of the amazing Easter Eggs , I love BF4 . If they were to just update the movement a bit and rerelease it , it could still compete with any game out there 😎
I’ve been playing battlefield games a lot since bf4 came out. The variety and customization was the biggest draw to me. It felt huge and realistic compared to other shooters to me.
Well its also that the math of bf4 is actually slightly well thought out...Headshots matter and if you aim at the head if drastically lowers the ttk...unlike new shooters like halo that just curve bullets to the head for you so everyone is just brought down to the same level and it reduces the skill ceiling to positioning and team shotting only rather than a single skilled player being able to take out the entire enemy team.
I've got some issues with some of the map design, especially when it comes to assymetic balance and preventing steamrolls, but overall I think the map design in bf4 is leagues ahead of 2042. I wouldnt say its quite on the same level as bf3 but still very enjoyable.
Loved bf4. Not sure if it was bf3 or 4, but at launch only one player could do a knife attack at a time! If 2 players performed a knife attack at the same time, neither player would do any damage. It was crazy!!
BF4 will always be a master piece, one of my most played games on the xbox 360 and still play it on my pc to this day, dice need to learn from this game and create another modern shooter like this cause this game had everything i wanted and what most people wanted in a battlefield game
Do you still play BF4?
8 years and counting, there is truly nothing like it.

It was incredibly consistent with content aswell.

How is the current playerbase on bf4? Like is it more than 2042? No hackers and such?
There are literally 0 vehicles anymore
@@spinningsquare1325 Two things;
1. That's factually and demonstrably wrong.
2. This post was made three weeks ago, before the most recent adjustment to vehicle counts.
@@canman87 three weeks sure but I am right
@@spinningsquare1325 I played for about six hours yesterday and there were vehicles everywhere; I don't know know what game you're playing.
What do you mean was ??
it still IS !!!
Add Sweetfx/crank the graphics to max and it still looks stunning
And the amount of content is INSANE
Stod, thanks for this video. Take the time you need. I like watching your stream more than any other. When you and the lads are together, it’s just the most fun and entertaining.
Learning and memorising the bullet drop on each sniper was so rewarding, instant dopamine hit when you land a marksman headshot
We need absolutely a Reloaded BF4. This game was the best FPS from far far far away
I always wanted this game since the times I played on a friend's PS3, and after all these years I bought it some days ago while the Steam sales were up. It's hard to play, but I love the game. I hope it doesn't die and the community keeps it alive like Battlefield 2.
i dont think we will never gonna get battlefield as good as bf4 was. because most team that made the game left dice.
It was harrspen wasn't it
@@Stodeh YES!
Bf4 is still my favorite multi-player game, everything just feels as good as it can and while the campaign wasn't anything to rave about it was still a decent place to get a feel for the games mechanics.
Can’t wait to see you stream again dude. Hope your feeling better soon x
Thanks for making this BF4 vid Stodeh! I've been playing it again these last couple of weeks, and it really is such a perfect game. So much fun and variety - I'm glad it's still going strong. 💙
Really like the style of this vid, just a chilled chat. Keep up the good work
Never stop to play this masterpiece. +2000hours and counting… love Battlefield 4, i play since the Beta
Thousands of hours on playstation between ps3 and ps4, thousands of hours on pc, and currently working on another thousand on the xbox gamepass. I have been nonstop playing this fucking game since its release. It's just way too good.
How have you been playing for 10 years and only have 2000 hours..??
@@mouneeb1975 well, i have a life, work, study... xD
I like it!
The L115 had the most satisfying empty reload out of all of the sniper rifles. The animation alone makes me want to paly that game again.
One of my favorite younger memories was coming home from school and watching stodeh stream bf4 on twitch.
I remember when the L115 was called the L96 nice too see you smacking people with it. It’s my favorite sniper on this game it’s crazy.
Amazing to hear that pure nostalgia from all the epic memory's. BC2 was my favourite game in the franchise.
The maps
The guns
The sounds
THE NOSTALGIA
i’m not crying u r
Day one battlefield 4 looked like clay for the first 10-20 minutes of a match, but we played through it because, this game was/is that great
Because back in the day they first had a concept of the game and then started building. Rn is the other way around.
Everyone saying gg at end of game is always wholesome. We could be all calling each other trash but when that game ends we all say gg
Only problem with this game is there is so many guns I find myself changing them way too often or have no idea what to pick
IFrom time to time i try to play BF4 again but there are so many servers faking that they are populated. Then i go back to BF1 which imo was also really great and is always a nice to just hop in and enjoy.
And you are right the community in BF4 was mostly like in the old days, having a good competition and not too toxic.
you speak to me from the soul, it is and will always be my favorite Battlefield
My favorite thing about the character models (in BF3, BF4 and BF1) was that they had enough detail to be unique but at the same time look distinguishable (even from a distance) based on what classes they were to not mix them up. BF2042 completely missed that mark and somehow with the unique specialist characters, made them look so much more like clones than the previous games did.
on xbox the lobbies are full everyday and its insane for people keeping the servers alive
Hell yea dude on xbox I join 2 full dlc servers
@@Kazasia-_- when i play servers are always yellow or on red where i stay we dont get any servers so i play with a delay
Couldn't have said it any better. Thank you for making this. Infantry only is huge for me, but I feel like a lot of the vehicles guys don't want to hear that
What I love about BF4 now is that it runs so damn well on my shitty laptop while still looking this good and immersive. At least 60fps constantly throughout, even when there's tons of players in the game.
for me BF4 had the BEST SOUNDS hands down compared to 5 and 2042 from jets to choppers and even the gun shots. 2042 sounds all like peashooters
Totally agree with you Stodeh! If bf2042 was just a remastered or continued bf4 version, everybody was playing it massively (again)!
Best thing you could do for your mental health, playing something you love. Get well Stodeh and take all the time you need...
Favorite part about BField - is gunshots sounds like actual gunshots. Unlike other shooter games (exept mb tarkov) where guns sound like popcorn making machine
Wow devs not giving a shit about what we want who saw that coming
Fantastic vid Stod, really enjoyed watching this one. Hope to see you back streaming soon but take as long as you need 🙂
Thats it.
I loved the end game recap/rewards screen from BFBC2 and also BF1… I wish they would make a mish mash of those 2 where u r seeing headshots n K:D, best weapon etc… just felt like it had some meat on its bones but hey that’s just how things go sometimes
sniping on this game was so good. i miss playing it.
I loved the pistols in bf4 and i wish they brought them back to 2042
Modes to bring to any BF game.
Conquest
Conquest Assault (infantry only Conquest)
Rush
TDM
Add those and you have a solid game BF game.
For portal Dice should have the community rank all the battlefield weapons from all games. They should start porting them in order based on popularity until every last weapon is accounted for. Do the same with maps. Include all the Bad Company and Star Wars battlefront games as well.
Hey Stod! Thanks for the insight. Hope you’re well.
Im totally agree with you, bf 4 will be always have special place in our hearts, and it always been
Thank you for that vid Stod.
Feels like yesterday watching you playing this back then….you still worked part time in a bar if i remember correctly. Good times…
I think custom servers were important to have a community. I would go to the same server and see the usual players. It was fun.
I miss these days @stodeh good times watching your twitch..
A sense a tear was in our mans eye throughout all of this..
Hate the idea of you not being happy and healthy dude. Take all the time you need. Really enjoyed the vid btw 👍🏻🙂
