I have a bunch of Gomexus handles and they are EXCELLENT quality. Having them make BFS spools is exciting and I hope they are successful, thus expanding their offerings.
Very nice and high quality...also they listen to us fishermen. They had that all gold handle for the shimano calcutta and I reached out to them and said hey can I get that in a 8x5 for daiwa reels and bam ask and you shall receive
I worked with em In the past for promoting their handles. They grew quite big here in the states. So it definitely be nice to see quality bfs spools or even other finesse spools :)
Centrifugal braking reel? I won't be involved in testing or using those as I am a magnetic braking reel fan :P
I have this spool in my 80, turns the z force brakes into sv brakes, great spool.
I love honest review keeeeep it up…eliminate the gap is very important.its so stressful when u r on boat birds nest n enter the gap n gets more tangled. Keep ur honest review. U got new subscriber ❤
Thx for the love and the sub! Goal is to ensure we all get good products in the market!
I just ordered my prototype BFS reel❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. Cant wait for Santa to deliver this
It's not really a prototype. It's a finished model for Early adopters. Whether it gets improvements or not will be based on the feed back it gets. In addition, if will let gomexus gauge if they should be investing resources to research and develop more spools ;)
I think testing it in the windy conditions is better. If it works well in the wind. Then, on a perfect day, it should work great. Get well soon and be blessed. My friend.
Great point! its just harder for people to see where it lands. heck it's hard for me sometimes during the cast testing session and editing LOL.. but especially the editing sessions because with all the editing window, my preview window is extremely small LOL...
i just changed antibiotics... the side effects sucks.. but i can tell it's clearing up. 8 more days to go for this med in time for the holiday!
Jimmy Lee: I own the Tatula TW 80. As -is, it is the smoothest reel , the best for no birdnesting, the best ergonomics. I cant imagine it a BFS spool. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Daiwa reels are amazing, I love how it's easy to configure too.. Way easier than centrifugal and easy to teach ppl to understand the concepts and settings
you are the first person i check to see if you bought this gomexus spool 😂😂 nice man
Lol! Are there anyone else who got it that made videos? I almost didn't do it cuz I didn't wanna buy a Tatula 80. Glad I had a viewer that sent me theirs. In addition, I did not buy the spools either ;)
@@rawrfishingyou are the only one for now to make a review abt this spool. Sorry i dropped comment without watching it first. My bad 😂
I have 2 of those Gomexus spool! Got one on my 23 Daiwa Saltist 80. Along with roros bearings. Casting 1 gram lures no problem 🤙🏼. The second spool on doing some modifications!!! 😁
Oozzz.. Cool to know this spool fits another reel! Does it fit any others?
@@rawrfishing all I know it can fit on the Tatula 80 n Saltist 80 since both are basically the same frame n spool size! But the only difference is that the Saltist has a drag clicker!!!
Sweet! Always good to know ;) thx for sharing and do let gomexus know what u think too!
Gomexus makes very good bearings for there handle knobs...there handles are very high quality at a good price i really like them good company. Very cool to see them get into the spool game.
It would be cool to see em get into bearings game! But when I spoke with them, they said not now. So I am not sure if they make or get em somewhere. Regardless, my experience with their handle bearings been positive as well!
Yeah, I have a bunch of their handles and I am super happy with them all.
Ooh weee...I just put those new black bfs bearings from roro on my 22 aldebaran and man that mgl spool flies
Jimbo brother I got out with my Gekkibijin today and man oh man it was amazing. I just have to figure out how much I can spool my reel. With a 7ft rod I was almost spooling myself. But I caught some nice Crappie with it today. And honestly like I have told you before you are the main reason that I got into BFS and just know I owe you a handshake at the very least. If I could find a reel like this I would get the Gomexus spool for it.
Nice! It's a small reel, so if you throw heavier lures, it will definitely spool ya! How much line u have on now and how thick of PE line?
A comment and a like is like a virtual hand shake ;) so if u see videos that helps ya, u know what to do :) happy to spread the bait finesse love
Curious if you’ve used the Rays Studio spool for the tatula 80 and if so how they compare. I saw the Rays has the SVD style rotor and that alone makes me want to get the Rays
Nope I have not. As stated, I don't own the Tatula 80, so I don't intend to test it. I will be shipping this reel back to the owner soon.
Hey Jimbo, thanks for the video! Do you know if they will be making one for the Tatula 70 in the future? Hope you get better soon buddy!
Thx. Not sure but I am due to reconnect with them. I can suggest it, but the next spool in line That I am guessing is the Tatula 100 since it will fit both the new and old reels!
Hey Jimmy I was wondering if that is a bfs reel because I powerfish for bass, but also love bfs trout fishing, would that reel accommodate both with just a spool swap?
The reel is not bfs out of the box without this spool or another bfs spool. We call these bfs conversion.
I think u can do what you want with the combination of the stock spool and the Gomexus.. But do know u also need two rods... So u might as well get two setups :p
just test it today i receive it this week and it is realy impressive and i dont ave micro bearing do you think i should upgrade them and do you know where i can found some ?
Glad you are enjoying it. if you can cast the lightest lure you want to cast with the setup with no problems, you shouldn't upgrade to micros as it will lose distance. for my heavier setups, i use stock or i change to ceramic hybrid at standard sizes rather than micros. Roro bearings are the most affordable at the most consistent performance from my experience. Japanese ones are more expensive like hedgehog studio and ZPI...
Not bad for the hot 50 lol for ct steez how’s this compare to the stock 70 spool I kinda regret it I didn’t realize how shallow it was also could u get away with rocking ten r 12 pound test capacity wise tx
I only casted it once and returned it to my sub who sent it to me as a gift. That was before the bf70 was out. So I honestly don't remember lo. But I do have a saltist 80... May put it on and do a bit of testing
Do you think that spool will work on the salamandura 70?
Don't think so. I tried putting it on a Tatula SV TW 70, same platform as the Salamandura... No dice
Does anyone know if a company makes a spool for the Daiwa 80 TW coastal? Or if this spool fits.
you can check their website and ask Gomexus. they may know. but my assumption is yes since the Size 80 reels are based on the same shell
How do you like the rod? Have you reviewed it yet? How does it compare. to the dragon?
I haven't fished it long enough. I took it out one trout trip tho, I did like it. I wouldn't replace my dragons as those are longer rods and these are short trout stream rods. This replaced my Tsu Ares since that is no longer in production. I will play with the short trapara rod from mca as well this spring for trout. Been hunting for trout rods!
I wonder....If Daiwa sees enough interest in bfs spools for the 80, will they consider releasing a Tatula Air using the 80's frame...🤔
Daiwa need to bring something out loll! They got the most bfs reels in the market over seas!
Anybody know of this spool would fit in the tatula 100 hsl?
No. Different diameter spool! I did ask em to make it. But they have it lower on their priority list.
I'm a gear addict and now looking for my next fix lol. Thinking of getting either the gekkebijin or the flight feather cormorant. Its not for a specific application. Which one would you recommend between these two?
I don't think I would get another flight Feather. I didn't enjoy the king Fisher as much as the Gekkabijin. I don't know much about the Cormorant version. I am getting the Loongze. U could do that too if u are gonna spend that much for the cormorant
@@rawrfishing Thanks Jimmy. gonna wait for your review of the Loongze before I consider that reel. I just watched The BFS fishing channel unbox it but no casting test. Looks like i'll be buying the Gekkabijin.
@@DrinkWetPoopFishing I am familiar with the reel and braking style. Played with some prototypes and if it's anything similar... It should be really good! I know will drop the full details whenever this comes in!
How does this compare to the alphas air tw?
I already returned the reel to the owner. So no comparison can be made... But the spool sizes are too different to be truly compared. I would assume the aatw with a lighter spool would do better on UL and this spool do better on the heavier side
Total weigth tatula 80 with shallow spool?
Returned it already. Sorry! Can't weigh it. But u can try to do the math :)
Ha could you tell me which bearings you would use to upgrade my kastking zephyr? and where to buy them?
I got 3 zephyr with 3 different bearings. Videos that I have should have links. Most were to ebay to a store from Ukraine called SDS... But I dunno if they are still open due to the war.
Roro would be the micros I used.
@@rawrfishing out of the three bearings which do you think is the best?
that's subjective to what you wanna do. Zephyr is not a good UL reel. micro bearings doesn't help much in allowing it to cast much lighter lures. so I would skip the micro and just use standard size ceramic hybirds and just use the reel on a L or ML rod. I would skip the UL rod all together
The thing is I’m getting an 6.3 UL rod for it so it’s too late for that
I thought it was a pack of cigarettes
@@rawrfishing random fact, it's called Axe in Europe and the US but in Australia and NZ it's called Lynx (possibly South Africa too)
Great to see Gomexus get into aftermarket spools. And they are doing the right thing, get feedback for their prototype.
Yep! If KK went this route with a regular kestrel and not the Elite... Imagine how much better it would been? No need to send out a ton of bfs reels to hype clout social media folks and actually work with real BFS anglers! Lol
