Chris, we live conveniently close to Papplewick Pumping station , so convenient that our daughter got married there, we had the engines steamed for the occasion, it was a great day!
Chris, the guests loved it and we had the miniature railway running as well. It was a memorable day. Wedding picture was also on the next edition of the leaflet.
Great video Chris , What beautiful buildings and Machines they took pride in everything they made years ago and as you say its the hard work and dedication by enthusiasts that have our Heritage , best wishes Graham
Built to last good British workmanship. The building is a work of art, just watching this video makes me want to visit them again when they open...There are a few more just as nice or even better dotted about the country i'm hoping to visit asap....Best wishes Chris
Very true.If we ever are allowed out again,I would like to visit the rest in the UK...I have part two recorded,so when I get the time to upload it....Regards Chris
I'am 55 and wait for my retirement ... that will be my favorite Job then ... i can't find more esthetic movement in the wohle world of mashinery ! But it is not allone the mobiles, the crazy worldwide gretabrainwaschpanic ...
there are in fact plenty of young men and women volunteering up and down the country to help preserve our industrial heritage. I'm almost 20 and I've been running old mill engines and pumps since I was 14. It's not a common hobby anymore so you can never expect hundreds of people but there will always be enough to see that these places don't spiral into decay.
Thank you. This is from the age when men were men and proud of what they built. Most of the work inside was never seen by the public until our times. Just amazing.
Many thanks Sam,makes it all worthwhile when I know people like my videos. We have loads on my channel we will keep putting some on,sadly no new ones until the lockdown is removed and the miniature and standard gauge railway open again....Regards Chris
As far as I know the big pumps are steam powered but some of the smaller ones could have some help from electric. To find out more information visit the websites, they should have all the answers you need. Regards Chris
I think Kempton is of similar dimensions to that of Titanic's engine, but one cylinder less. Titanic had four cylinders per engine and Kempton has three.

And not a single young man. Some retirees. It’s sad.
We have same problem at our M.E Society, we just cannot get the kids interested and off the dam phones.
