Wow, wow, wow! What a great combo of understandable wave science and incredible big wave videos! It was so great to finally understand something of the underwater geography of these famous sites and how monster waves form. This has to be one of the best big surf videos I've ever seen in many, many years of watching. The massive waves at Jaws in this video are some of the most beautiful big waves I've ever seen. And the waves at Cortes Banks are the scariest, and so chaotic...and imagine, the theoretical possibility of a 150-foot wave! Hats off to Sean Collins, the producers, and the brave (crazy?) souls that take on these monsters of the deep. Bravo! We live on such an amazing planet.
Never knew what the buoy readings meant when they said 25 seconds and stuff. Pretty cool. They need to update this vid with nazare , chopes, and the right . Esp the right wanna see that reef formation and how what's his name was held down almost 100 feet deep there
Dude that was awesome. I mean I don’t think u could make it any more clear as to how waves are formed. Or why certain breaks are so much better than a break 300 yards away.
LOL @ 10:43 *Narrator:* On a big day with a good set of binoculars... *Me:* Are you blind man?! You don't need binoculars to see those bad boys. She ain't even trying to hide.... *Narrator:* you might have seen Outer Log Cabins. Located just a couple miles to the northwest of Waimaea Bay on Ouahu's north shore. *Me:* Oh. I thought you were going somewhere else with that.

Great video. Some awesome shots and great info!
0:55 Almost 20 years ago, and this is probably still the best wave ever ridden at Jaws.
Laird....good Lord. Carving monsters. Lip riding 50 feet high. Such powerful surfing.
Amazing info....thanks
Love this. Hope to see a similar doc about regular size waves

What is the opening genetic 90's surf instrumental rock tune? It's kinda good ha
You have to be a true Waterman to surf these waves!...kudos!
Cortes Bank has the big tuna too!
Probably way down amoungst the roaring 40s there is a reef in the ocean breaking at
150 foot right now
Rivetting, exciting, fun, informative , insane . Fuck, what else can one say?
Awesome music thankfully most bands are shown on the screen except the the band in the very beginning.

brad gerlach is so funny ;p
Did the video heading always mention - Kelly Slater- ? Obviously he was not in it. Why diminish such a great story with a click bait heading?
Must be before Nazare was recognized
Chris B Nazaré is not in the north Pacific
