Catching - Tag Covering Home - Niceville vs Pace - Molly Mayfield - 2024-03-22

@MollyMayfield-2027Catcher This was me at Catcher. The Pitcher fielded a bunt and made the throw to first for the out. The 1st baseman returned the ball to me so I could attempt to get the runner from 3rd out. Sarah got the runner out at 1st, but the throwback was too late and I missed tagging the runner at home. I've included it because, despite the missed tag, I feel the play went well, and our gameplay was sound. As a Freshman (9th Grader), Varsity Coach Danny Hensley selected me as the only player to be a floater to play for both the Varsity and Junior Varsity Teams. As a result, I have been attending both team practices (Two Practices a Day) and taking a full honors academic load with a 4.0 average, a weighted average of 4.48 on a 5.0 Scale. I am also a Trumpet Player in the Niceville Band and a Star Scout in the Scouts BSA Troop 1157, and I am on the path to earning the rank of Eagle Scout. As of April 1st, 2024, I am playing Varsity only.
