Things a piece of s***. Listed each lion individually on eBay and made my money back and then some, went and bought the soul of chogokin version. That's the definitive Voltron right there.
Standing pose balance I fixed by having the Yellow Lion one click back from the Blue Lion in the hip sock joint. That gives him balance without it being really noticeable once standing.
It should be noted that Trendmasters actually produced a full two foot tall (24") Voltron that could be disassembled into the 5 individual lions. It had lights and sounds too. It had terrible proportions though.
Ok. Yeah, there was the Lion Voltron, & another one made out of 15 vehicles. There was a 3rd toy made of 3 robots, but the cartoon never aired in the US. I liked both Lion & Vehicle, but I thought the Vehicle looked better. I know would disagree with me though...
Great review, thanks for putting this together. Do you also have back-up toys still in their sealed boxes to keep as collector items? I know it's hard not to be tempted to take the actual product out.
You know, for a bunch of Voltron figures that you use to compare it with, I'm kinda surprise you didn't or don't have the 1999 Trendmasters 21" Voltron for comparison as well. good review, i envy you because i use to have the smallest one when i was a kid.
I bet this Voltron is the same approximate size a Shogun Warrior. That would have been a cool size comparison to see, but Dan is a child of the 80's instead of the 70's, so it's understandable ;)
Wow, it wasn't until you showed him against the AT-AT that I genuinely grasped the scale... it is pretty huge!! The only one other thing I'd like to see him compared to is the giant walking Go-Bot battleship that I remember from the 80's!!
Hi Dan, thanks for nice and awesome review! 😃 I have the 5 box set with pilot figures. May i know where can i find the "fired up" blazing sword? Thank you!
you have the legs mistransformed!!! If you angle the lions front feet back, they match the heel spur. seems like it would help with some of the balance and leg popping issues.
Dan, you rocks! You are the man! I'm glad that I didn't keep collecting it! What a big flensy piece of plastic! Totally out of body proportion ! Aggggh !
Love the review... dislike the product! Unnecessary gimmicks and pricing is outrageous! The only thing that compensates is the size. 20" Trendmasters Voltron is still the best in my opinion. Take that Matty! Great job in keeping it real Pixel Dan!
Wait wait wait....your telling me you did the entire montage and didn't have Voltron riding the Star Wars AT-AT like a horse?!?! I'm kinda disappointed sir. But seriously great video
Hey Dan! Nice video Bro! How do you use and give credit to the theme music? I used it in a video and I don’t want to get flagged. I would like to give credit to John Petersen.
Check out "Encore #23 Fortress Maximus Review" by Odeean review. At around 23:12 he compares Fortress maximus to Voltron. (He really doesn't like Voltron lol.. fyi)
I wish u would have compared him side by side with the vintage transformers Fortress Maximus figure & even the transformers classic style or armada style UNICRON figure!!!
Spring loaded features in toys are usually,,, actually, NEVER a good idea. The springs are always very finicky. None of the issues on this guy surprises me, but I still like him. Something some collectors need to consider for large items like this is doll stands. Yes, doll stands. They do make big ones that can help support giant figures like this.
I bought this sub and though it looks great, I am wondering if cost wise it would have been better to buy the JUMBO voltron from japan? I mean if this guy is not really movable despite his joints and all hes gonna do is stand there then why not the jumbos? they cost about 250-300 and you can get a vehcile voltron!!!
Vehicle force needs some new merchandising, we Vehicle fans don't get enough respect or recognition. Plus I want more Japanese stuff to come, the original Japanese dubs were so superior to the American dubs.
What the hell does he mean you can only hold the shield with the green lion....so you can't just rotate the shield clockwise so the peg is facing the other way?
No fence but the masterpiece Voltron figure set blows this out of the water...I don't see how this is worth $500 and aimed at collectors since i've seen better stuff on the toy isles in ToysRus. Im glad you like it though and we all have our own opinion
first off each lion is over $100 and secondly those lion legs popping when Voltron is formed is a deal breaker, this thing is not worth the money, the lions and Voltron look cool but not worth spending over $500 with all pieces being plastic.
Yeah I know everyone told you this. But I will too as its a silly mistake you made. If you are going to quote it right say the line right. "FORM ARMS AND BODY" not arms and torso.
One...
Plus One...
Plus One...
Plus One...
Plus One...
GOLION!!!
PrimusVsUnicron yeah i like golion more too
Things a piece of s***. Listed each lion individually on eBay and made my money back and then some, went and bought the soul of chogokin version. That's the definitive Voltron right there.
you have no idea how happy that music and monolog made me.
Standing pose balance I fixed by having the Yellow Lion one click back from the Blue Lion in the hip sock joint. That gives him balance without it being really noticeable once standing.
Looks amazing.
He...Is....BEAUTIFUL!!!! I WANT ONE!!
It should be noted that Trendmasters actually produced a full two foot tall (24") Voltron that could be disassembled into the 5 individual lions. It had lights and sounds too.
It had terrible proportions though.
Awesome...I love it dan...80s 👍
Man I wish Panosh Place would've came out with a Sven action figure? They should've brought this back out in 2020?
Yes. Vehicle Voltron has 15 vehicles -- which is a insane about of parts,.
It looks MASSIVE!!
nice review, it was nice to meet you and your wife you are an awesome person take care :)
Waste articulation too that I discovered by accident. Pretty cool for posing.
That is awesome!
My thoughts exactly!
great review!!!!!
Very good review! Awesomesauce!!!

You can put the shield in either hand, if you want to.
Take some fishing sinkers and put them in the blue and yellow lion's. You can glue or tape them but it will give the figure more balance.
Damn, that thing fully assembled is the length of your torso! O.O
13:06 What no Stealth Voltron love?
I figured that the spring loaded features would weaken over a period of time not brand new out the box still a great collectors piece
so it's been 11 years now since this was released, how have your Lions held up?
oh you mean vehicle voltron! yes i know about vehicle voltron. i thought you meant there was like more than one normal lion voltron
finally a great accurate golion toy
Great review, thanks for putting this together. Do you also have back-up toys still in their sealed boxes to keep as collector items? I know it's hard not to be tempted to take the actual product out.
Seems to me that his heels are supposed to have the extra support from the spring loaded legs to help with balance.
You know, for a bunch of Voltron figures that you use to compare it with, I'm kinda surprise you didn't or don't have the 1999 Trendmasters 21" Voltron for comparison as well.

00:45 I believe Lion Volton is: "Form arms and body!" Also, when Granamyr comes out, he definitely needs to do the whole "ro-beast" thing vs. Voltron.
Wow, it wasn't until you showed him against the AT-AT that I genuinely grasped the scale... it is pretty huge!! The only one other thing I'd like to see him compared to is the giant walking Go-Bot battleship that I remember from the 80's!!
Try to straighten out the yellow and blue lions feet where their parallel to the heel stabilizers. That should fix the issue.
I don't think Dan has a Fortress Maximus. But he does have a Technodrome. There should have been a pic of Voltron hugging the Technodrome :-)
Hi Dan, thanks for nice and awesome review! 😃
I have the 5 box set with pilot figures. May i know where can i find the "fired up" blazing sword?
Thank you!
it comes with the character figures did you get it Loose without the boxes?
Imagine him next to Fortress Maximus. :)
you have the legs mistransformed!!! If you angle the lions front feet back, they match the heel spur. seems like it would help with some of the balance and leg popping issues.
How much was Matty Collector subscription when it came out?
amen brother amen
You can find them with a voltmeter or a galvanometer. Or measure voltage and current.
Look up when the 2 voltrons team up. They both say torso. Would send the link, but youtube won't let me...
Isn't the front paws of Yellow and Blue suppose to bend downwards/backwards to add to the heels support in their leg mode? Will that help?
dan why didnt u position the paws back on the legs to line up with the kickstands like u showed in ur blue and yellow ilon review?
How is he in size comparison to Titan Series Metroplex??
Pixel Dan...is that really you?
Dan, you rocks! You are the man! I'm glad that I didn't keep collecting it! What a big flensy piece of plastic! Totally out of body proportion ! Aggggh !

I do like the scale difference between the lion and pilots, but they could be a little smaller.
It would have been nice if the white areas were metallic colored.
Wouldn't the shield still look pretty much the same if you turned it upside down in order to attach it to the red lion?
How are the sword display pieces suppose to work??
yes, i am 14 have not seen all of the first voltron
It's the size of a small child!
Hey y'all see little Jimmie 🙋♂️
They changed it to Torso later in the series...
nice!!!!.....
Haha. I was thinking the same thing.
Wait wait wait....your telling me you did the entire montage and didn't have Voltron riding the Star Wars AT-AT like a horse?!?! I'm kinda disappointed sir. But seriously great video
The classsssssssssics
Aw maaaaaaan
Precisely. And ultimately, each of them derives from the surname of an Italian scientist (Alessandro Volta and Luigi Galvani).
Trivia question for nerds: what do the names of Voltron and Galvatron have in common, besides ending in -tron ?
Let's see who knows the right answer.
watch Mattel make some improvements on the Lion Voltron reissue. which they will release him again. i bet!
Why don't you compare Voltron next to Fortess Maximus?
what? there is two voltrons? when?
Hey Dan! Nice video Bro!
How do you use and give credit to the theme music? I used it in a video and I don’t want to get flagged. I would like to give credit to John Petersen.

There is no excuse for those spring legs. They had to know they were charging people for a defective product and yet did nothing about it.
what about taking it all apart??
if u flip the shield upside down it should fit in the other hand.....NO?
The black lion's legs just hang in the back?
I remember the one from the 80's were metal 1stgen shit I'm talking!!!!!!
Vehicle force needs some new merchandising, we Vehicle fans don't get enough respect or recognition. Plus I want more Japanese stuff to come, the original Japanese dubs were so superior to the American dubs.
What, no Fortress Maximus comparison?
its form arms and body. 'form arms and torso' was vehicle voltron
spinning laser blade, not shield. just saying
put in red lions hand upside down
What the hell does he mean you can only hold the shield with the green lion....so you can't just rotate the shield clockwise so the peg is facing the other way?

i would take the lions apart and remove the springs
Is this better than the Masterpiece one?
It looks cool! But there r way too many problems with it.
dan messing with this looks like tom hanks in big when he's playing with that stupid building transformer.
orale
I don't think so, cuz he is under two feet.
Where can u get this & how much
Michael Castaldi II probably 30 dollars
first off each lion is over $100 and secondly those lion legs popping when Voltron is formed is a deal breaker, this thing is not worth the money, the lions and Voltron look cool but not worth spending over $500 with all pieces being plastic.
i thought you didnt had eternia?
Is he bigger than fortress maximiss
Go voltron go voltron ho
3:47 Get magic marker, paint over the smudge.
Problem solved.
they both have "L" for its 3rd letter
WHY NOT 24 INCHES!!! :P
The tmnt is bigger
lt lloks really nice but im too old to play with toys sorry!
That's a shame...
Yeah I know everyone told you this. But I will too as its a silly mistake you made. If you are going to quote it right say the line right. "FORM ARMS AND BODY" not arms and torso.
no pixel dan is right
23"? thats too big, that wont fit on a shelf
