It's interesting that they don't go through the ugly baby phase like rats and mice also the fact that they don't have to go through hours of labor I wish us humans could do give birth that easily
Guinea pig pregnancies are actually twice as long as other rodents that's why the baby's come out cute 😊

I have 2 babies that have been recently weaned 😂 these guys are like little jumping beans if they aren’t scared of humans 😂 mine aren’t only took like 1 day to take veggies from my hand and they’re like 3 months old

I'm in the UK and probably the same age as your mum so I am being sincere and I watch your channel as I have 2 werewolf skinny pigs, a 2 hairy Tri coloured and a Teddy bear all girls I lost quite a few girls last year I e of the 3yrs old and a stroke bless her and recently lost my 11year old Beardie Henrik so I have a new baby called Ithica. They’re so sweet!!! Could you possibly do a video on replacing guinea pigs’ hay? Like what it looks like when it needs replacing, how you sort soiled/leftover hay, how much you throw out, etc? I’m hoping to get two pigs next year and I want to make sure I’m fully prepared!

Guinea pigs are amazing how they are born little miniatures of their parents. I was a breeder for several years and was amazed every time a new litter was born. My favorite and most extreme birth happened during hurricane Ivan. I lived in Florida at the time. I had 3 pregnant sows and I didn't expect them to give birth for a couple of days. However each sow went into labor around 1:00 a.m. By 3:00 a.m. I had 10 new guinea pigs! I was shocked that one of the mother's had 5 babies. I wanted to get them to a vet to make sure that the mother and her offspring were okay but couldn't because of the storm. Thank goodness they were all okay. It was a miracle. The most remarkable thing of all was how due to guinea pig babies being born with teeth they were able to eat the veggies and fruit I gave them. So the mothers weren't overwhelmed with nursing. Getting supplies was almost impossible because of all the damage Ivan caused in our area and I wasn't expecting so many babies. My sows were phenomenal mothers!

My parents have said I’m aloud 2 when I turn 12 which is Christmas my parents also said I need to make a power point to show everything that I need and which type are best to get . Do you know where I could get any from the uk? I don’t want to get any from a pet shop unless I have to due to my hamster passing after a few months from them not giving us all the supplies and information that I couldn’t find on google and websites

I hear you about being overwhelmed. I have 12 cats. Lol. And I feed a tnr colony of 6, and a new female showed up with kittens soooo I'm about to lose it lol. I don't blame you for not keeping any. Animals are expensive-i pay about 150$ a week on cat food. I'm glad these piggies found the best possible foster momma

I remember when my rescue guinea pigs had babies that i didn’t even know of. They get so big so fast. I kept the dad and two of his babie. But gave the rest to a rescue because i couldnt take care of all 11😅

I was totally not expecting newborn Guinea pigs to look like that! I clicked into your live stream and I was shocked when I saw them. I don't understand it, baby gerbils take ages to get to the cute fluffy stage, like 4 weeks, newborn kittens are cute but it seems like it takes ages for their eyes to even open. And baby Guinea pigs pop out as cute mini adults?!? They are so cute and tiny but can breed at 3 weeks? Like, what?

Ik this is a year old but a Wyze camera does 24/7 you can set it from the motion sensored
thats not accurate the babies are able to be touched right after birth u don't have to worry about her rejecting babies she will not be aggressive they can also pretty much eat solid food almost right away i know at 4 days old they absolutely can eat solid and also they have to nurse for 3 weeks also please remember to separate the male babies from the females because they will be sexually able to get the females pregnant uhm also the mothers if the fathers are in the cage remove them the mother can get pregnant a hour after she gives birth n if male is left in there i give it 80 percent chance if male left in cage with mom after birth she will get pregnant just stuff to be aware of.

I know I’m extremely late! But just to give a little tip x You shouldn’t separate babies from there mothers at 3 weeks of age. As they may not be fully weaned and fully eating and drinking by themselves. That’s all xx there really cute! When my Guinea pig gave birth 20th October their weights were 63g 70g 72g there were extremely teenie weeny. I have. Guinea pig pregnant rn and she is currently 79 days pregnant 😮 I’m really concerned. She is about 8 and half 9 months old and her babies have dropped but I’m not to sure what to do because she hasent had them yet and they r usually pregnant for 72 days maximum. I know that she is pregnant because I can feel and see the babies move. Any tips? I would really appreciate it as I’m getting really worried. Xx

My advice is to take the male out the cage while she is giving birth ( not sure if the other one is a male so I apologize if I’m wrong.) but I heard that ther mother can get pregnant again after 15 minutes after birth.
There are no males and the babies have already grown up and already back at the rescue.

Aww! They are so so precious! I never realized how big baby guinea pigs are when they are first born! They literally just look like tiny adults. I was expecting hairless, eye closed babies! They are so much cuter than I expected!
My daughter asked me to adopt a male pig that had an eye infection. He was seen by the vet and had medication so I said yes. He bonded really well with my other male so it was fine. Then he started gaining weight, and like you I picked him up and felt babies kicking! One morning shortly after I woke up to 3 babies!!
I never knew that male guinea pigs can become pregnant btw was he pregnant before of after you got him?
