We have a kubota b7100 and the gasket went when we fired it up after fitting the new gasket we had some leaks in desperation we bought some steel seal liquid that you add to the coolant it cured the problem and after several years of running it has not lost any coolant so we are were very pleased that we did not have to strip it all down again
Yes that fix in the bottle actually does work sometimes. My other tractor had a slight crack in the cylinder wall down low and I used K-Seal and that has been sealed up for 6 years now. The leak on the massy was different it was leaking oil externally. The coolant and oil remained separate.
Did you try re-torquing the head to see if the original gasket was properly clamped up? A lot of folk seem to find the head will tighten down a fair bit after it has run a while. Might just have been enough to solve the oil seepage if there were no other head gasket failure signs like coolant loss. It's interesting that one of the changes made when they designed the AD3-152 engine was to add three more studs down the intake side of the engine that must significantly improve the chances of a good seal there.
@@ColinMill1 I did not try just a retorque. It's not much more work to change the gasket and it was neat seeing the conditions of the cylinders. I looked up pictures of the ad3 engine and I bet those extra studs fix this common problem completely. Even when I was looking at mine I thought it was odd there was no head bolts along that oil passageway.
@@thedelcodave Thanks for the reply. Yes, by the time you are in a position to torque the head you have done a serious chunk of the job! My 35x has had a weep from there since we got it (24 years ago). She never needs a drop of water between coolant changes and starts and does a day's work just fine. I suspect even Perkins had a little of the attitude to sealing that the British motorcycle industry had - leaks showed the customer that there was still oil inside 😀
Thankyou. I bought it as a personal challenge to try my hand at tractor repair and restoration. One day I hope to have land of my own to use the tractor for small farming chores.
The Grey paint is an automotive single stage paint with hardener. The red is automotive base coat clear coat. Nasons brand paint. There are paint videos in the playlist if you are interested.
Is the fuel tank painted grey or red if it's in factory condition? I have a (full) license built one which has a red one. And what tires are on the rear?
I painted the tank grey at the same time the rest of the engine was painted. The tank should be red but when the hood is on you cant see it anyway. I have 2 videos on painting the tractor check them out. The rear tires are BKT TR-135.
@@thedelcodave any chance you know it's dimensions? Where i live the 35 (IMT 533 and 539) are the most common tractors, but unlike in the us nobody seems to swap the rear tires for wider ones. Your 35 looks great BTW
Beautiful wee tractor. Good practical engineering skills and well presented
Thanks. This tractor has taught me many new skills. Looking forward for spring so I can take it out and play with it some more.
Great video , tractors looking spot on !
Thanks for checking it out
Helpful video. Thank you for doing this.
@@Redhackle thanks for watching
Nice job on tractor
Thankyou!
That’s a nice clean 35x

@@thedelcodave thanks for your reply on those copper gaskets do you fit them dry I have seen some videos when they use gasket cement as well
@@seahorseist I used copper gasket spray

I wish I could do stuff like that. Nice Job!
If you can read a manual you can fix anything. A wise friend told me many years ago.
@@thedelcodave LMAO
Hello brother you told me the name or code of the paint you applied to the engine block you did a really good job
The grey is called Nason ful-cryl acrylic enamel paint clad ds100
You have a beautiful tractor. What the main reason you have it?

would you not need to set the pistons to the Top

torc the headbolts after heating up , let cool before torc
Yes that is the proper procedure
