Sita's chastity was questioned while Rama was walking on earth. If he did not make these harsh decisions, it would have continued beyond his time on earth. But, because he did what he did, not a single person has ever again questioned Sita's chastity. All the fingers that then pointed at Sita now point at Rama. Sita, went in history as a woman of unquestionable chastity, and Rama, despite all the suffering he endured to uphold Dharma, all his achievements, is still criticized for abandoning Sita. That was Rama's dedication for Sita.

I understand. It is therefore I am told that to this day, parents do not name their newborn daughter child as Sita, fearing that she may face difficulties later in life. But Sita's story in itself is that of commitment (spent 14 years along with her husband in exile and in isolation in Lanka), motherhood (bringing up twins on her own) and sacrifice (not reuniting with her husband but letting the earth consume her mortally to return where originally she was found as child) . Many woman who have faced personal difficulties in their own life have drawn strength from that story to face them.

*@pikachue602* Excuse me, Miss pikachue602. Don't judge Lord Rama by listening to the ranndom commentary from the internet. Do more research about Valmiki Ramayana before getting into your conclusion... Because according to Valmiki Ramayana Lord Rama never listened to any lies of people. Hence Lord Rama never questioned his wife i.e Sita's chastity. It was the people around Sita who raised question on her chastity because she was going to be a Queen of Ayodhya. And Lord Rama knew that Sita would understand, because, She as the queen has also got the responsibility of the state. Once, there is an image tarnishing question from the public, she cannot play deaf and continue being their queen. Even if the layman's question was answered by Rama and put an end there, there's no guarantee that the same question of Sita's chastity wouldn't arise in the future. Maa Sita understood that the only solution was to give Agnipariksha to prove her right because she knew that the God Vishnu will save her from the fire 🔥 obviously. And thus the fire test was Sita’s decision, not Rama’s. Lord Rama just saved her From the fire.
And Sita's last sacrifice was also not for her own self respect, she was not that weak and helpless wóman that she'll sacrifice herself for the sake of her own self-respect. Sita sacrificed herself for not being able to tolerate the insult of her husband in front of her what he was witnessing from the thankless people of Ayodhya. That's what triggered Mata Sita to volunteer exist from her life to her eternal abode Vaikuntha. Don't forget Sita was an embodiment of a Goddess.

In addition to my previous comment, it also reflects that the whole narrative is very emotionally made decision.
Just like how many of us, who intend to be righteous and idealistic in nature, believe we are in the right path n this is how it will be right.
But, while walking that path, we hurt a lot of those who are not on the same page even if they are right .
May be in the assumption and presumption of us always trying to prove to be right, we too make mistakes.
And sometimes really costly mistakes unaware of what to actually do!
We are always forced to believe rama is a good boy and he listens to people n follows dharma.
How can a good leader just be a listener. Shouldn’t be also carry his own opinions and influence people the right way to think and direct them towards growth?
Similar examples are there in many stories,
Like, Shakuntala Devi and her husband (how she was abandoned),
Later, in Jodha Akbar (idk the exact factual info, but through the movie n some references, how Jodha was questioned and she left home n then Akbar went back to get her when he realised),
So it’s always about a man committing a mistake in haste, or in the fear of society’s failure of judgement that a woman is questioned and punished! For a man to re-realise her worth n purity?
It’s probably the repeated pattern n mistake . May be it’s time to advocate the righteousness by actually giving a direction to the society on how to judge, how to not fear society’s judgement, how to not misguide women to bear the wrath of all the patriarchal forces for her to still prove her innocence!
It needs a severe change before propagating more on how it was righteous at all.
May be the take away could just be, “A man like rama has also committed a mistake, and one must learn to not repeat the same pattern. Atleast rise up and be more bold to face the world together rather than making harsh self made decisions in the name of righteousness!

Rama was spineless enough to not show the true dharma to
the public. Already Sita had done agnipariksha and the public still is questioning her chastity. The public will never learn and will gossip however much Rama do anything about it. Because that's how public are, they gossip and poke into things.
And to implore further, imagine Sita was raped and to take it more further, imagine she got pregnant from that. Can Rama be the real Puroshottama and show to the people that it was not her fault. Even if her 'purity' is gone, it's not her fault and we must take care of the weak and the victims and not push them off like garbage.
He could have showed a new and improved Dharma for his people. As Dharma keeps changing according to time and place, Dharma doesn't have to be a static entity.
Rama was a coward and a fool.
Coward for not doing the right thing. Fool for taking gossip among public seriously than teaching them about truth, critical thinking and empathy.

You being so powerful and enormous god couldnt save your wife from Ravan and later question her chastity. It hurts my heart..if a man like lord Ram couldn’t save Sita Ma ..then its better to be self reliant like Sita Ma who lived alone in Valmiki ashram and become self dependent..thats my take from Ramayan❤

What very few people do not understand is that Sita-Rama together are the Supreme Personality of Godhead. You can't separate the two. Can you separate the sun from the sunshine? Lord Rama is Shakti-man and Mother Sita is Shakti, you can never separate them from each other. From our distorted perspective, it may appear that Lord Rama has separated from Mother Sita, but in reality it is not possible. From our perspective it may seem that the sun is born from the sea, but in reality the sun is far away and untouched by the sea. Hare Krishna! 🙏

The morality of the story is that a Ruler should serve the interests and the demands of its people first, Just like a President or a PM. And this is why Rama has to turn back Sita to meet the disapproval and suspicions of his people.
The story revolves around Raj Dharma, If Rama as a King didn't banish Sita, he would have lost all respect and dignity in the society as a Ruler.
What is the Duty of a King to serve the interests and the demands of his people first, not to be self-centered and become a family man.

Sir, one clarification: when someone comments on the queen, is it not the king's duty to explain what has actually happened instead of going by what was commented. In general, kings needs to analyze the statement made by any person ( sita, in this context) and rama needs to explain it to the person who commented. If he punished sita by hearing some words by a random person, then it may prove that the person who commented is right. I am just thinking that the king could have gone as per dharma by proving/disproving the statement in the court before taking the decision.. please help me to understand this concept

See, from what I understand, politically there are some rules that a ruler must follow for the dharma to function properly, it's not as simple as just proving his point and moving on. Rama is a king, not a commoner. For instance, if you look at this scenario from today's point of view, why do we think our government doesn't accept the women back who were forced to join ISIS, but have now realized and want to return. The women's parents still plead our government to bring them back. Why do you think our government doesn't consider their pleas? They are brain washed people, they may pose a threat to the country in the future. It's for the safety and security of the country. Similarly, maa Sita was in captivity with the enemy country as well. The women who were in captivity in Syria were common people. But, in Rama's scenario, Maa Seeta was going to become queen and rule the country, probably a major part of the earth, back then. How serious should a king be about this? After the abduction of Seeta, it's become a political thing now, no more a personal issue for Rama. She is his dear wife and he knows very well about her, but there's nothing personal for a ruler who puts his life before his country.
Another point in my understanding is, it's not good for the king to have emotional weaknesses any time in his life. It's very dangerous and there's 100% chance for the enemy countries to take advantage of this. So, it's very important for Rama to prove to his citizens that he has no personal weaknesses, and his country's well being is his foremost responsibility.
It's the personal sacrifice a king has done for his dharma as a ruler of a country. Rama is dharma personified, that's the greatness of our Rama.🙏

I think i might have a good enough explanation...at least something which satisfies me and makes sense. After the war, lord rama and maata sita were coronated king and queen. There was celebration all around in Ayodhya! And the epic of lord ram's battle against raavana spread like wildfire. And of course people, i assume, got to know about maata sita's agni-pravesha which was proof enough of her chastity and purity.
But you see my friend, we live in a society and so did the people at that time. Gossip is not something one can really fight against, it's a coward of an enemy, but unkillable all the same, immortal even. And people gossiped, in-spite of the truth. And the dhobi was just more vocal than your average citizen but even he ,I assume, would falter and curse himself for saying what he did if he actually met lord rama and maata sita in person. Lord rama heard about the way the public talked about his wife, the queen and questioned her chastity. How do you think he felt about it? for a man who had been through so much suffering, even going as far as to indirectly make maata sita, his love, his wife, his very life undergo an agni-pravesha just for the sake of his people so that they never doubt her, this must've been absolutely heart wrenching.
Rama failed. The scion of ikshvaku, the very incarnation of Mahavishnu, the preserver, was defeated.
Now, could he have given an explanation? absolutely so! punished the dhobi and whoever else for talking ill about the queen? i mean Rama would never have even thought about it but you know how cruel kings can be! But one must realize that the agni-pravesha was the absolute pinnacle of proof and nothing could top that.
So rama did the one thing only he could.
He sent maata sita away. And look at all the hate he gets even now for what he did. Does anyone ever question maata sita's chastity now in modern times? No. But do some people absolutely abhor lord ram? Yes , and so did i for a long time now! That is how great Lord rama is! Some might say he failed as a husband, but i think not. if anything he failed in love, he couldn't be with his beloved but he made sure that her honour was intact and he beared the brunt of misfortune. It has taken me literal years to understand our lord's actions. JAI SHRE RAM!

@@achyuthanand5006 Yes, Rama did not fail. Atleast for maa Sita, Rama is never a failure, and Rama knows that. But, inspite of sacrificing so much, the society still judges him. As far as his love for his wife is concerned, who are we as a society to judge. This society never understands. Rama after he orders Lakshman to leave her in the forest, also makes sure that she's left nearby Rishi Valmiki's ashram so she'd be taken care of. People don't recognize these gestures and still judge his love towards his wife. One can understand Rama only by reading Valmiki Ramayan.
Even I used to argue a lot with my mother when young. But now I understand that people need to have lot of maturity to understand both "Raja Ram" and "Sita Ram".

Despite everything being explained well in the video, people are still asking stupid questions. Many times the circumstances are such where the difference between righteousness and unrighteousness becomes very less, in that situation Shri Ram took a decision which a common man can never take. If today's young generation is so stupid that they cannot understand this, then it is not the fault of Shri Ram. (The respect for Shri Ram has increased in my heart)
I don't know whether Ramayana is true or not, I maintain a neutral viewpoint between theists and atheists. But after reading Ramayana from beginning to end, there is no doubt left in my mind about the character of Lord Rama. I respect Shri Ram and will always do so.

Going to the source has been an eye opener on Rama's personality, all the people around him and important events that happened in these two first parts. This topic about leaving Sita is quite contentious, because of the historic context when it happened. If Sita had to do Agni Pareeksha, Ram should have joined Sita as well. Just like when they were married, when they were tied together and circled Agnideva for their everlasting love. If people questioned Sita's character, did they not question Ram's character as well. Even he was without Sita for the same amount of time, his purity could also be questioned.
If we consider Ram ji as the ideal human, then how come he is falling in the trap of "Chaar log kya kahenge"?
Women have been suppressed so much for so long and even now we are not questioning our beliefs bases.

Rama's character is not questioned because he had already put in enormous effort in travelling across lands and in crossing the sea to find Sita and then putting his life in danger in a battle to rescue her. Do you think that a man who had a slept with another woman in his wife's absence would do that ? Is so, then you are not in reality. Secondly, it is not about an individual worrying about what "Chaar log kya kahenge". Rama was a king bearing responsibilities of the Kingdom on his shoulder and he wanted to fulfill that with the trust of the people of his kingdom that loved him dearly.

If Lordram is a judgemental person towards Sita mata
Then he don't cry and search for Sita mata
Then only he leaves Sita mata
But no Lord ram is great he killed Ravana and protected his wife
    According to valamiki ramayana
LORD RAM IS GREAT HUMAN AND GREAT KING
We all should know our hindu stories too
Purananas too each and every purana

    If you study Dasavataram stories
Then you can understand the greatness of lordram and his decisions towards Sita mata
Lord Ram is Lord Vishnu avatar
    Godess sita is Godess lakshmi
    God is great
    Lakshminarayana
    Sitaram
As a king he took that decision to send Sita mata to forest
But as a husband he cried more more more for Sita mata
    He love Sita mata
    Sita mata loves Ram
    They both are one
    Even while performing yagna
He brought a golden statue of Sita mata
    That is greatness of lordram
Just some people are pointing on lordram
    Without knowing the truth
    The God Love
    The god play
    The god ideas
There is a big reason behind it
Some people see Lord ram as human and a great king
Some people see Lord ram as god
    He is absolutely god
    The great lordram
By watching some movies or some serials
People started to judge even Lordram
    How foolish is it
    He is our Lordram
    One and only one
    Whatever lordram does
    Is absolutely right
If he didn't take agniparishka decisions and sending sita mata to forest even still today also
    People Jude Sita mata purity
At Ramayana time there is no TV or internet to understand and show the agniparishka to each and every citizen
Even Lord ram didn't take the decisions towards Sita mata
Even today also we all judge sita mata character
    But without any doubt
We all praise Sita mata as maha pathivratha
We all feel sad about her
    Because she suffered a lot
We all judge Lordram for his decisions
But we never judge Sita mata
    So please try to understand
There is one and only one great king
    Great human
    Great Husband
    Great god
    Lord Ram
    Sri Rama chandra prabhu
Jai ho Sri Rama chandra Prabhu ki
    Jai
    Jai Jai sitaram

I still strongly object to Rama's decision. The main question is not whether he loved Sita but if he was indeed a righteous king at all in this context. He knew very well that Sita was chaste, but his subjects were suspicious of her character. So, as a wise king, he should have called a public meeting and have it declared explicitly that Sita was chaste (repeating this exercise if needed), thus putting an end to the rumors. He should have also made it clear that even if Sita did sit on Ravana's thighs (or did anything that questioned her character), that would have been under coercion and thus would not qualify as a situation for judging her character. If he had pressed that conviction, he would have set a very good example of a king working as a social reformer. But alas, he "feared" speaking to his extremely loyal subjects and undertook this very anti-heroic action of exiling his wife (and eventually regretting it).

I think we need to change the perpective of seing thing..anything that written by our ancestors does not only have one meaning..it have internal meaning
The whole ramayan was about human soul reaching back to the eternal god
    1.rama-the god
    2.sita-human soul
    3.laksmana-awareness
    4.ravanan - ego
5.14 years of exile-symbolism of when a soul and body is togather--human,the life is full of problems
    6.the golden dear-maya
7.agni pravesham-when u soul(sita) is capture by ego(ravana), the soul need to get rid of the impurities and god only accept our pure soul back, agni is said to be pure in ancient
The whole story of ramanyan is telling u when a soul takes a human body,it will go through hurdles ( suffering),when a human get attracted by maya(gold deer),there is where god goes out(rama went out)and ego(ravana) start to creep in..yet our awareness( lakshmana protection) will try to protect us,but still the soul will be attracted by maya...in order to let go ego and maya, a person need to undergo a big process(war) and strong faith in god(how sita have faith in rama, only think of rama)..still after the war, u soul will be testify for purity ( agni praksha)
Hope this doesnt hurt anyone and just a small sharing and look at our ancestor view different...

What do you mean by "pure". Are you talking about purity in body or mind? Sita was not raped. Sita was pure in body and mind, still Rama abandoned her because she was suspected of having an impure body, not an impure mind. Is that enough reason to abandon your wife. Let us assume that she has an impure body. Is the impurity because of rape of adultery. If it was adultery, then she had both impure body and mind. But the purity of her mind was never in question. So it was always about her body. Let us assume that she was actually raped. She will have an impure body but a pure mind. Enough reason to abandon?

Sir the reason of shri ram leaving sita while she was pregnant is mentioned in
    Padam puran, Patalkhand, adhyay 125,
Page no: 518,519,520 (geeta press gorakhpur)
Here it is told that mata sita was cursed by a parrot the she will have to bear the pain of separation from her husband during her pregnancy as she was forcefully trying to keep that parrot in same situation.
