@dannydonehue I hear you mate! I can tell you that it was worth the time and effort. My partner and I really enjoyed the series-some of those climbs had us feeling the burn right from our couch! 😄
Very enjoyable watch. Thanks for putting in the effort to record, edit and produce this to share with us all. Now the wind seems to have died down, Im thinking Ill go for a ride too. You have shown you don['t need heaps of stuff. Just the right attitude.
Hey Andrew, no worries! Had a lot of fun putting together this series. the weather lately would be perfect for getting out on a trip. Yeah definitely, just got to get out there and have fun. Good luck, hope it al goes well! ✌️
@@MiniLuv-1984 That’s awesome, thanks for watching! Yeah definitely consider it, I’d recommend to take several extra days if you can afford the time :) good luck :)
Been watching the progress for weeks and I am absolutely loving this series mate. Well done! Probably not doing a long ride like this but it makes me want to ride my bike more😊
Thanks heaps! :) Yeah, I likely wouldn’t have had the push to do this without having watched other videos on UA-cam inspiring me. It’s never a bad choice to go out on a ride 🤙
What an awesome adventure. Loved every minute of it. Your honesty in your filming in showing the tough parts as well as the fun parts was very inspiring. Glad to see that your wife & dog were also as enthusiastic as you. Brilliant vid and thankyou for taking us along for an amazing trip. 🎉 Congrats 🎉
Sensational ride. What a massive effort. I'm living my bike pack dreams through you. Maybe one day I'll attempt a smaller distance or even bump into you on the bike trails in Melbourne.
Hey mate, thanks for watching the series :D Love to hear you've enjoyed 'em :) Honestly, outside of my commute to work I haven't done all that much riding since, but I'm feeling like I need to get back out there myself.
@@dannydonehue I've been enjoying my move over to path and gravel cycling after 35-odd years of riding Melbourne's roads. The traffic has become too aggressive against cyclists, and the gravel trails take a more scenic and relaxed pace away from most pedestrians and gives my brain a reset. It's been nearly 2 years since I was out Croydon way and I'm thinking I need to drag my sorry butt up Tarralla Creek Trail again.
There's a path that goes all the way from warilla (where you stopped for McDonals) all the way to Thirroul, but on the eastern side of the road. Would have saved you the big intersection at Cringila/Port Kembla
Hey Juzzy, yeah that could have been a decent time saver! Bit late to help me now, but hopefully people use this series as a resource for bikepacking this way and come across your comment :D
Great effort on completing the ride. Guessing when you started planning this thing you were thinking about issues with the heat... but seems like you encountered your fair share of rain. Hope you have replaced your spoke - the J style spokes on your wheel I find to be way more prone to braking than straight-pull ones. Thanks for the video series
Yeah I was definitely more scared of a heatwave than the rain. In the end I think I was quite lucky weather-wise. Most of the trip was quite mild, overcast with the occasional hot day. I think the rain at the end although annoying at the time, ended up being a great way to finish! Wouldn’t have wanted to get that drenched half way through 🥶🥶.
Well done. Good effort. Well documented.
Hey , glad you enjoyed it :) Appreciated seeing your comments throughout.
Incredible effort Danny. Congratulations on the achievement and thanks for the entertainment along the way.
@@quark666-z3x Thanks mate :D Proud of the accomplishment and that I finally finished editing the series 😅

well done, that's a tough ride for anyone.
Yeah it was quite tough at times, I was kind of surprised that my body adapted and kept up with it. 🤗
Very good Danny. Just binged the entire 9 episodes, looks like something I'd like to do...

Thanks Mark! Yeah I’m so grateful for my wife, dog and brother in law waiting out in the rain for me and getting that awesome final clip! 😄

It's a great way to finish a long bike ride - the greetings, the holiday. Tassie next?
Thanks! Yeah Tassie is definitely a top competitor for where I'd like to go bikepacking next.
Nice series but what is wrong with your voice ?
