- Prince William expressed on Thursday that his late mother, Princess Diana, would have been proud to see a charity established in her honour accomplishing "inspiring work" to aid young people globally.
The future king stated that focusing on his mother's legacy is a priority for both him and his wife, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge.
Speaking at London's Science Museum during the ceremony, William stated, "I know that she would have been honoured to see a charity in her name doing such inspirational work to uplift young people from all corners of the globe." He added, "She taught me that everyone has the potential to give something back, that everyone in need deserves a supporting hand in life."
Meanwhile, his brother Prince Harry separately spoke with the 20 Legacy Award recipients via a videocall following the ceremony.
Criticism followed Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, after they decided to launch a new business venture on the same day as the brothers were set to speak at the event.
