Beautiful moment, what a true fire in the playing of that piano player, Dwike Mitchell, musical power in the moment

Didn't want it to end. It seemed like they took that pentatonic piece from the Chinese composer, which was crossover and brilliant itself, and were improvising on it. I was friends with Willie Ruff's kid a long time ago, and she had a ton of awesome quotes from him, my favorite being, "Blessed are the sleepy, for they shall soon drop off."

That was beautiful whats these cats did for art in general and for this american art form called jazz. They were truly ambassadors of the music and well deserved to be the first group to represent the music. I think they really floored the Chinese who were witnesses to their musical genius and sharing. It must have been really something to hear for the first time.

Can anybody tell me what tune they are playing from 6:53 on, please!! It just floored me. Of course they had to cut it short just when it was getting even better, goddamnit. Where has this music been all my life!

They were improvising on a piece that a student in the audience had composed and played for them
