Mate that was absolutely fantastic. Magical symphony is one of my favourite decks, and you explained perfectly its disruptive presence in an otherwise really established metagame. Well done.
And before every set had a deck to counter last set’s deck, irl events, and when the game actually had multiple viable decks other than a main deck and counters to that deck…
Nice that things have changed somewhat. There’s 6 top decks and about 12 or so viable decks. Much better than just Urshifu and then just Mew and then just Arceus and then just Lugia…
How does 2016 PTCGO look better than 2022 PTCGO?? But in any case, 6 minutes in and this is absolutely fantastic! Brilliant documentary video. Would love to see more.
INSANE VIDEO man like?! This was so good shai. Also was a trip down memory lane for me as this was the format of ptcg I was most invested in, and I remember watching these world live!

What a fantastic video i really hope you do more like this! Such a nostalgia trip for us more veteran players i have to say haha As a video suggestion, maybe the time alex dao won like two events in a row without losing a single game with gyarados
Amazing video! I would like to see more of these videos about the history iconic moments in the game. MTG has a lot of them and I would love to see similar content for PTCG.
This is the content I love! This finals is one I always go back to watch from time to time and is the reason shintaro is one of my favorite players. This was such a hyped finals!
I love these mini documentaries! They're super informative, the editing is great, and they do an awesome job capturing the format at the time. Would love to see more :)
Really nice this throwback stories =D You should tell the story of how 3 Portuguese players made top8 at Worlds 2014 with virizion/genesect/drifblim ;)

If I was that audino player won with a deck that no one even knew about I would play a Guitar rock solo right when I won that's how good that feeling is
Yes I have been looking for minI documentaries about the history of our favorite game just like this. How did you know? Seriously love your content and it's some of the most engaging TCG content thus far. Plus I feel like documentaries like these help with myths and misunderstandings about the game. And if nothing else its helping inspire me to make content that I wish to see more of in our community. Which, I mean you've got covered pretty well but you know hahaha
This was an awesome video dude I loved this era of Pokemon so much. This is still the most hyped I had ever been for Pokemon TCG Worlds. I remember me and my friends making bets and I got clowned on for choosing Mega Audino and Mega Sceptile as I was convinced they were sleeper hits. I'd never been so vindicated in my life.
God i remember the day after this. At the local shop and someone comes in saying "mega audino won worlds" and we all started shouting around for the collector guy to see if he had one so we could understand what had just happened. As a fire type player the fact it also beat greninja was icing on the cake i always hated that deck because it was so good at beating non meta decks.
I remember this and it was just such a dream breaker. It was absolute rouge and really really good. I'm surprised it did not gain buzz at the tournament especially at world's level
This is so weird to me because I was telling people how good Audino was positioned in this metagame. I played Night March and Greninja that season and I told people there was deck I feared. Audino.
When night march rotated, I then changed to a Shaymin, Mega Ray Skyfield build with Sceptile that got me banned from competing in my area. I won so much people would just read the list, see my name and leave. I once got a deck thrown at my face lol. Mail, Seeker, and Shaymin was a wild combo.

The dream. Showing up at Worlds with a brand new deck, no one knows 😎

I remember coming home from work the day it happened and seeing Mega Audino won worlds and was blown away, ngl I didn’t even know it was a card lol
Was such a surprise wasn't it! 🙌
1:53 deym, I miss Donald. I used to watch his PTCGO vids way back.
I love Cody's Greninja BREAK deck. The 3 KOs in 1 turn he did back then was insane
I know! Three prizes the old fashioned way! Crazy too see! And Donald was goated!
@@BurtsPTCG There was a typo, tho. It's Dark Integral Gaming, not Intregal.

Ah, a simpler time. Before you needed to play VMaxes to win and 1-Prizers were actually usable for more than support…
And before every set had a deck to counter last set’s deck, irl events, and when the game actually had multiple viable decks other than a main deck and counters to that deck…
Yeah definitely! Was a trip down memory lane looking back at this meta! VERY different to how it is now!
