Good game, and I like the 3mm. I've only just bought the pdf version of the rules, so I could well be wrong, but I thought an attacking unit HAS to retreat to the square it started from, but could optionally retreat two squares? that would make it a lot harder for the otherside to counter attack, assuming I'm right?
Sam's wargame rules are extremely well thought out, presentation is impeccable and he goes for playability and effect. I haven't managed yet to get my head around any of his rules. I am sure some people find them very good for their gaming needs, I am not able to actually be interested. I hope someone at the club will show them to me to their full potential.
I want to love this game but it feels like a lot of fiddliness for what should be simple concepts. His new Eisenhower set seems much closer to how I wanted Rommel to play.

I find them pretty straight forward, tbh, but rules are always easier learned when playing with someone who knows them.
